I love it when smart people alienate and generalize a whole community and industry. Great stuff guys.

I've got ideas, but it's hard to learn how to build them. Excited for AI for education.

Honestly, do consider partnering up with a tech lead while you handle the vision/business side of things. Don't try and do everything yourself. Just my two cents!

LLMs should be limited to specifically licensed data. Fair use and even Open Source should not give corporations the right to sell remixed plagiarized content as original work. Why would anyone publish any origional content if they knew it would immediately be used to rob the creator of economic value?

Fair use and Open source shouldn't be free game? Grow up and quit being a decelerationist.

We keep backtracking and redefining AI. Now all predictive text is “AI”. We have gotten better hardware/networks, and algorithms, no actually headway in what we all believe AI to be. Chatbots aren’t definitely not AI. FYI, he didn’t coin “copilot”either. Not in definition or implementation.

The image generation questions are always so disappointingly shallow, badly thought out and emotionally loaded without an ounce of understanding about how art or creative direction works. It's so disappointing to see every time, amazing answers by Nat, though.

It’s OK to rip off artists because it benefits other people? What a disappointing and thoughtless perspective.

I love his stance of "Oh yeah I sympathize with artist who are getting their work plagiarized on a huge widescale. But as we get more people to do it we will simply outnumber and erase them from existence."

that is what happened to artisans during the industrial revolution, he's not wrong, so long as society demands the cheapest option, the cheapest option will prevail and there's nothing cheaper than a tool that required only a text prompt to create for you
