1:05 Just fyi, "Steppes" is pronounced "steps" not "steppies" lol. Kind of a cute mistake. Don't mean to offend or anything, as I know English is not everyone's first language. Just wanted to be helpful for future reference.
Edit: Also, just noticed, at 4:48, Vladivostok is too far north. It actually sits just above the "S" in "Sea of Japan" on the screen.

Thanks, but you know, English is such a broad language, every region has its way of saying words. If you are in Belfast, English is their first language but you wouldn't understand a thing they are saying. Thanks for the tip, though, appreciated it, I recorded it after a long day, so please cut me some slack here :)

Well Russia began stagnated during the Age of discovery and pretty much didnt participated in it, despite having a desirable geography during the spice trade , whcih could have been used to strengthen their Navy which is basically non-existent during the time.which couldve been used to colonize the Americas and Africa Continent like the super power at the time like England,Portugal,Spain,France and Netherlands.
only in the 17th century when they started to step up during Peter the Great , but then again stymed after the Napoleonic Wars , because in every direction theres a strong enemies or serious consequences if they started invading for warm waters or resources, they gambled and lost(the crimean war)
during the Industrial revolution Russia started to step up again and their economy improved , because it cant handle too much problem externally and internally, most likely due to corruption and lack of competent leaders it didnt survived revolutions which ended the Tsardom
I mean even in world war 2 the USSR is screwed without the americans provisions and The Harsh winter of USSR wouldve lost to Nazi Germany
after world war and discovery of more oil reserves in USSR territory. whcioh made them rich and why they can compete with USA in many many aspects

      1) Russia was defeated by Japan , but later got all of its lost territories+ Kuril islands in 1945. Now Japanese officials cry as kids about their lost islands.
      2) Defeated by Germany not beacuse of weakness compared to german side, but because of civil war! And after WW2 Russia got all of its lost lands ,plus Kaliningrad and East Germany.
      3) They defeated Russia 1920 when it was weak , but later all became part of it😁
      4) Invasion of all of Finland didnt work. But Russia still annexed around 30 % of Finland
      5) Totally fake and misinformation . China lost to USSR in 1969
      6) Russia left Afganistan due to financial crisis inside the country.
      7) Yes, but chechnya today is part of Russia
      8) Who told you that? How Ukraine could defeat them , when 30 % of their is under russian invasion?
USA and British colonial empire( not UK alone) played important role in victory with economical factors, but you disrespect millions of soviet soldiers who sacrificed their lives in war! Germans were already going to destroy whole Europe and invade the whole world ( look what happened to "glorious " France) in 1941, they were de facto stopped by Soviet Union after battle of Stalingrad !
Russia would never become biggest country in world, if they'd defeat only weak ones.
