    Could you put a wood stove on top of the heater to move the heat forward.?

      I'm not sure if that would help or not being how thick most wood stoves are. You can build something like this to help push the heat to the front. th-cam.com/video/w7x6ReCsOuo/w-d-xo.html

    This can be made at home easily. An IKEA stainless steel utensil holder with a soup can or two bolted to the inside.

      yep, or just build a simple one out of a couple cans. Then you don't have to make a trip to ikea.

      I made a hobo stove out of one a while back. I could use that in a pinch.@@christopherhorton821

    Why cook on top of the heater when there's a real stove on the bottom?

      I have no idea. I guess it's for needing to cook while using the heater.

    I own a 99 chevy express conversion..I'm thinking about a Coleman stove..I have 12volt computer fans...put in the roof and blow the heat back down...im thinking the run time would be 5 to 10 minutes to heat up...I only need heat in the morning...I live in Central Florida , it does get super cold in some winters..

      Most butane and propane stoves only run about a hour per bottle. These put out a good bit of heat out through the top so if you use one make a simple heat shield for over the top if you can. The heat can go pretty high up. I would say between 1 to 5 feet depending on how high your stove is. Also depending on how insulated your van is, and how many windows you have this heater might not work on a lower setting. It will also depend on how cold it gets. Most of the heat comes out the top so using a couple small fans might just work to disperse the heat.

      The best thing I can tell you is this. Look up a Kovea Cupid Butane Heater.
      I'm running one in my 2023 VW Taos, and it get pretty warm on low. Warm enough to only need a thermal and a hoodie.
      Run time on low, using Coleman Butane 8oz, 5-6 hours on low.
      Worth every penny man.
      Like I said definitely look it up!

      @@wikidcustomsgarage Those are ok but I have a zobco traveler propane heater. It goes between 2000 btu's on low up to 7000 btu's on high. Sometimes older is better.

      I use my propane stove in my camper. After it heats up, I just put the flame on low, and it keeps it nice inside. I want one of these. 😊

    I ran mine just like yours and got about 2 1/2 hours not a very long runtime

      You are pretty lucky. These butane bottles last about 2 to 2 and a half hours on low, and about a hour on high.

    I have that one,but the problem is the smell when its to hot is like plastic burning

      @christopherhorton821  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's the paint that they use that you are smelling. If it gets to strong for you to stand then go through my videos and look for the DIY heaters.

      You need to burn the stupid coat of paint off the top first.

    What is the runtime on high?

    • @christopherhorton821
      @christopherhorton821  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Usually you get about a hour runtime on one of these small cans on high.

    Looks like a waste of money, and just one more thing in the way. I use my Coleman two burner propane stove to warm up the back of my pickup topper. Just crack a window for fresh air intake.

      It heats better than just using the stove itself.
