    Sam sounds like he should set his C Stick to tilt attack

    • @Garrrization
      @Garrrization 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tilt Stick is a cheap trick to make weak fighters stronger, Sam should learn to just tilt better as it leaves you much less open to being punished.

    • @AirventOS
      @AirventOS 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@Garrrization I don't know about calling tilt stick a "cheap trick." Even top players use tilt stick and so I see nothing wrong with it. Being able to tilt without tilt stick isn't really an area of the game that most people would care about, and not having it would just make the game more annoying, so not having it doesn't mean much.
      (Also if this is a bait then gg I guess)

    • @Garrrization
      @Garrrization 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AirventOS Well, to each their own. and the first part is the gem fusion meme.
      but honestly learning tilts properly has made me such a better player in general, and you can't do most tilt involved true combos without proper tilting just because of how fast you would need to move your hand from a/b to stick and back. not bait just genuine care for people to learn more about the game and become better players.

    @27:35 - So, I get that it could be a huuuuuuuuge stretch for next year's tournament, but I think this is the reason why they have best 2 out of 3s (plus the time limit so that it doesn't go to forever). After hearing the story about how it messed up Clint, I felt bad with y'all. So, try it out first, see if that's what y'all wanna do for next year's tournament. And also, finals is best 3 out of 5. If you actually wanna go and do the full tournament experience, throw in the double elimination rule too.

    • @mbletz3958
      @mbletz3958 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They really don't have enough people (and video time) to do double elimination, but best of 3 is really a most at this point

    Like a this last tournament was a state qualifier, top 3 players move on to the inter office smash. Maybe have an overall winner and then a team point system. When you fight the other offices you get points each win to see which office is the best. If anyone at corridor wants practice let me know I have put over 1500 hours into smash ultimate and more into melee. Clint if you love that feeling of constantly getting better then you need to play some melee. It does not hold your hand like ultimate so the controls will feel unresponsive at first but as you play you will start learning exactly how many frames each move lasts, how to L cancel and wavedash, You will slowly start getting addicted to it and each time you play you know you're getting better and its this exponential growth for months. Its great. It will also make you better at ultimate.

    I love the idea of office commraderie. Past few years my work has pushed working remote and since covid my work office officially closed and I haven't had that in person togetherness in a long time. Nothing beats being able to take a break and play some games and share some laughs and light competition. With no co-workers to have this with and finding myself not spending much time with my actual friends we started this channel. For the moment it's just virtual but gives us all a reason to get together and just relax and share some laughs and play some games. Eventually would be great to have a place of our own to do this everyday like the corridor crew does. One day! Until then, we will keep at it and take inspiration and entertainment from everything corridor is pumping out these days (which is alot and is awesome)!

    Hi!
    Longtime fan of Node and Smash bros here. Thanks for the super entertaining content! Just wanted to pitch the idea of a crew battle format video if Node is ever down to do more smash content. This might be a long message, so I'll just preface it with a TL:DR to save you some time: Nail-biting Knockout-style matches between two teams of equal players, regardless of skill level!
    Elaboration: "Crew battles" is a format of playing smash bros where everyone is divided into two teams with equal amounts of players. The steps are generally as follows:
    Splitting into teams: Ideally, the best way to split teams would be to find someone equal to your skill level, a "rival" so-to-speak, and to go on the opposite team of your rival. When the teams roster is formed, play order is determined then by skill level - the highest level players, aka the "anchors", are generally the LAST people to play on their team. The most beginner/entry level players are put at the front of their team roster and play first. This way, you generally have the beginners of one team playing against the beginners of the other, and as you win, the matches get more difficult.
    the battle rules: 3 stocks per person, unlimited/high time limit (so that the game timer doesn't run out until someone has lost all 3 stocks). This is where the rules change deviates from tournament. When one person wins, they move onto the next match, BUT they carry over THE SAME AMOUNT OF STOCKS that they had left over from the previous match. It's a bit complicated at first, so let me demonstrate with an example. Consider team A which has Nat, wren, and clint versus team B which has Daniel, Sam, and Niko. Nat is up against Daniel first and wins, but it wasn't a 3 stock because he took 1 stock during the match. Nat would thus move on to fight the next person in team B, which is Sam. At the beginning of the match, she falls off the stage ONCE (because of the stock she lost the last game prior), so she starts the game with 2 lives instead. She goes back to starting position, and everyone in the office counts down from 3 to start the match. You play out the match, then the winner carries onto the next match against the next member from the opposing team until one team has no lives remaining. (remember, 3 stocks per player with permanent stock-loss which carries into the next match). If the teams are balanced well enough, it's very common for crew battles to reach a last-player/last-stock situation in both teams at the very end.
    Why do this format over the tournament style? I'm not recommending it as a replacement to the office-tournament style format videos. Frankly, I'm just happy to see the production value that NODE brings to a videogame I enjoy playing like smash. I only offer an extra option that I'm confident NODE can take to the next level. From the perspective of the participants, I find that entry level players are more happy with the experience compared to a tournament when success is based on the individual skill level. Now, everyone is part of a team, and even if you lost your match, if you took at least ONE stock, you helped contribute toward victory since that's one LESS stock the team has going into the next match. Even if you took NO stocks, there's still a chance your team wins so you'll still have some level of investment. (Believe me, with balanced teams I've witnessed some insane comebacks). From the perspective of a viewer, it's the matchup progression of difficulty, watching the anchors duke it out, that makes this super thrilling to see - even more so with invested commentary on the side, or cool matchup production values. Not to mention, this format works well with any EVEN number of participants, so you don't have to worry about filling enough slots to make a perfect-fitting tourney bracket with no matchup Byes or anything like that.
    Really hope to see this work out, thanks again!

    Don’t know if y’all have the time but when you do tournaments you should do best of 3 matches so the Clint sitch won’t happen again
