Lyrics (for ease of access): I've seen that Boneyard Rider A shadow black like the night And he cried: "Upon earth and sky, tread lighter... Lest your way I soon may ride" He passed his hand across the water And turned his face toward the sun And he cried: "So I, the Boneyard Rider... Swear by blood and fire my will be done" We burned our bridges brighter And cast our dead out to sea And I cried: "O, damned am I, dark rider... Don't you show no mercy" He said: "You see that coming fire?" "Vengeance mine," says he And to die beside the Boneyard Rider Such is doom and destiny
I find incredibly sad that a band with so much talent as "The Kill Devil Hills" never made it big. This is only one many epic songs these guys do. I stumbled upon them by pure chance going down a TH-cam rabbit hole about a year ago. Living in California I never would have heard of them any other way. I have tried to find their albums to purchase, not because I actually listen to CD's but because I really want these guys to keep making music. Unfortunately, most of their stuff is either out of print or not available in the United States. Amazon Music, Spotify and others only have a fraction of their catalog and their website is defunct. This depresses me but as long as TH-cam keeps their stuff up, I guess I'll be ok.
It's so sad, I feel like you. I love them too and I can't believe they wouldn't have more success. Incredible. But, why they don't have a professional account with their songs??? They should have one. I don't understand they haven't.
"Again, I am not the Kill Devil Hills, do not represent the Kill Devil Hills, nor aim to steal from the Kill Devil Hills, I just think that if something is damn good more people should hear of it so they have a chance to seek it out." I liked this video based on that. I don't know if I like the tune or not.
"On May 27, 1997, the Dead Man walked into the town of Jarrell..." RIP to those who had perished during that horrific storm. Every time I hear this song I cannot help but think of the beast that struck Jarrell on that afternoon. It was an absolute freak of nature too, growing from a rope into a 1-mile wide wedge in just 18 seconds and producing winds of well over 320 MPH...
Great song! Sounds like the theme from a Spaghetti Western! The story in the song reminds me of "Ghost Riders in the Sky" (cowboy meets ghostly being(s))
arrr pirate gurr beard is t pensmith of thee song. has another band the mighty 'rumskull'. you think this song is epic come to oz and see rumskull. arr

Love this band! Saw them wipe the floor with the Dirty 3 at the Astor Theatre in Perth a few years ago now!
Great band full of swagger!

@CrowSkeleton It'll be nice if you put it up. Your drawings give a nice atmosphere too. Very fitting. Cheers :)
Cool country tune!!definatly unique!!
EPIC
Reminds me of something Johnny Cash would have done 40 or 50 years ago.
Is that your opinion?
Thought this was the "allstar" band from the states! Good shit none the less!
Is the band named after Kill Devil Hills in NC? I live there lol
Very good.
Upload the whole album. I've looked for it but i cannot find it in the states for some reason, and importing costs way too much
