I remember when my brothers got this game for christmas. I watched them play for hours. I then eventually joined in bc who can resist this amazing game?!
Aaahh 1998 :) Excellent game, I remember playing it on my N64 when I was 16 years old, and this level was particularly hard to beat. Furthermore, all those zombies and sisters of despair made scare me.
Watching this is bringing memories back of me as a teenager sat in my room playing turok 2 on my tiny 14inch tv and using my rumble pak and expansion pak which took me like a year to save up for with my pocket money...so worth it! Games today just dont have that magical feeling anymore as devs have to make each new game look ultra realistic
The turok series was amazing, every enemy was unique and creative. Not like nowadays where everything is either take cover and shoot or charge blindly forward.
Fps were kick ass back then, i also remembered not being many pc fanbois preaching how amazing the graphics were on video games like Evilpage down there. Sigh... Memories...
If you're wondering what the n64 version is like,I own every game in the series, its not too bad and pretty easy to learn. Also, you are the greatest turok player in history and I've seen ALOT of good players. One more thing,I kind of wish you would do more turok 3 videos because you were good on that one vid.
It plays great on keyboard and mouse. I never played the N64 Version of the game and I don´t know if you can switch the weapon type with only one button in both versions (for example: shredder => shotgun; mag60 => pistol). You can also change the ammo type of the tek-bow or shotgun. I put those actions on G and H (or maybe they are there by default?). The PC version has also better graphics (you can even turn shadows on through an .ini or .txt) and runs more flawless.
your right about the AI and somewhat about the graphics, they could of done better considering the time between the 2nd and the 3rd.But the music is pretty good actually, and I like the fact that they tried with the mouth movement in the cut scenes.
It runs perfectly on Win7 and older (didn´t test it on Win8) with an extra patch. You can find the patch on my website (link in the description) under the section: Downloads.
Such a great playthrough on a great game! The PC version definitely looks and runs better, compared to the low frame rate N64, but nonetheless a great game. That level was my bane at first, but it isn't too bad now, and the soundtrack for that one is awesome.
Turok is one of my favorite video game series until I upgraded from a Nintendo 64 to a PlayStation 2 to a xbox 360, I beat the new turok in two days and I now play cod but if there is another turok I'm getting it
+ChrisPTY507 Well one could create an ISO image of the original cd and edit the audio track, replacing the pc ones with the original n64 soundtrack. I did this for turok 1 already - it's mostly working, but it's not perfect.
+ChrisPTY507 On current operating systems, there is a bug wich causes the music to stop playing entirely in turok 1 (level 4). This is a bug of the game - not the CD or anything. Also, I could not replace the music of level 6 - otherwise the CD would not be recognized as the game CD. Anything else worked - no weird sound effects, just some unchanged music. You also asked if one could fuse controls - yep, even if the game doesn't support it, with the programme ControlMK for example, you could copy keyboard key actions like pressing W for moving forward onto the d-pad of a gamepad, letting turok move forward when pressing the d-pad up. Or the control stick, whatever.
Is this the PC version? I don't know if there is one, but if there is, I want it. The graphics are different and the weapon wheel and various sounds (the runners as I called them, the primogen that run up to you to attack have a different death screech).
Sorry, I should have been more clear. The original PC ports (both Turok 1 and 2) are meant to run at 30 FPS, but may run a little too fast (around 40FPS) without a frame limiter on a modern system. The remaster of Turok 2 has a frame cap at 60 FPS.What I meant to say is that you can't run Turok 2 Remaster at 120 FPS, hence there is still a frame lock.Which is weird, since you can manually unlock the frame rate of the first remaster...
I assume you are pointing to the gate around 3:50. In the tunnel, there should be a fake wall somewhere you can destroy, to get to the area behind the gate (if I remember correctly).
Is this particular game session on the PC? because i cannot completely turn off the look spring on my 64, it still centers when i move forward and is very difficult to pull of as many headshots as i do ^_^
Yeah, that's the PC version. As far as I know, the only N64 game where you could turn off the look spring was Turok 3. Sadly, it wasn't as good as Turok 1 and 2.
What do you mean by HD? This video shows the best graphics you could possibly get out of the game. I turned on shadows in addition to the common settings (in turok installation dir: turok2.ini: 3DSHADOWS=FALSE turn to 3DSHADOWS=TRUE). You could also try to manipulate the DLLS in order to get an higher resoultion, but that usually only results in lags and graphical disortions. Hope this could help you somehow. If you have further question, just post them.
Still prefer playing this on the N64 since I still have it on N64 along with 1, 3 and Rage Wars. I'm still waiting for Turok 2 seed of Evil to get remastered on PC so I can play and beat it. I want a new Turok game (2nd time rebooted), give it like the Tomb Raider 2013 treatment but in first person shooter perspective but with Dinosaurs. And give it a really good story to it while trying to keep it classic. And maybe in the long run bring Shadow Man back. Acclaim 2 greatest game (in my opinion) Turok and Shadow Man.
Couldnotic A DirectX update is in the works. I tested the beta patch - works great. The performance issues will be fixed with the upcoming patch. I'm not sure about the Ultra Health though. At least on Hardcore difficulty, it adds +100 to your health just like it did in the original, but your health can go up to 250 instead of the original 200. I played the remaster for over 50h, but I could be wrong anyway.
iknow it you have some verry high towers at the begin if you look arround you will see them shoot them with the rino and the gate will open. If anyone has another question pls ask me i know this game far 2 good XD
And it works BETTER on PC. Go back and play it. The amount of slowdown on the N64 is tremendous. It gets to the point where you're basically looking at a slide show in some parts. Just because it was made for something dooesn't mean it works best on something.
hm...i`ll see what i can do. But it will be hard, because i would need to play the game on an emulator. The aim will be inaccurate. But I will try and do my best. My gameplay for turok 3 was also on an emulator.
this game scared the crap out of me when I used to play it, but honestly it was one of the best games ever for 64
scared*
Whoever did the soundtrack for this game deserves an oscar...fucking epic
One of the best first person shooters ever made
I remember when my brothers got this game for christmas. I watched them play for hours. I then eventually joined in bc who can resist this amazing game?!
It's just astounding that you can remember the arrangement of these levels so well. I would always get so lost in this game. Especially this level.
All the soundtrack for each stage is good! I like this one to... it bring back memo
High definition does wonders for graphics!
This game is from 1998 but doesn't look like an eyesore despite newer systems being more powerful.
Update: was just released remastered on ps4
I wanna thank you for uploading these videos
I used to play the crap outta the Turok games when I was a kid
Man this game was fucking sweet.
Goood old memories. :) love this game sooo much
Thank you! Just completed my 1st game since I got T2 as a kid when it first came out :)
Aaahh 1998 :) Excellent game, I remember playing it on my N64 when I was 16 years old, and this level was particularly hard to beat. Furthermore, all those zombies and sisters of despair made scare me.
I miss this game so much
Why don't you play it then? :p get an emulator and the rom, hook up a controller to your pc, the game looks amazing on an emulator
+Edgar Garcia Turok 2 remake is comming to Steam in 2016 :)
agreed, just completed it myself, incredible work by Night Dive. With the draw distance fog gone, u can truly see the class level design for real.
One of the best N64 first shooting games ever made.
This game had the most badass weapons, like the Shredder and the Cerebral Bore
I find it hard to believe I was playing this 17/18 years ago!!!
Watching this is bringing memories back of me as a teenager sat in my room playing turok 2 on my tiny 14inch tv and using my rumble pak and expansion pak which took me like a year to save up for with my pocket money...so worth it! Fps were kick ass back then, i also remembered not being many pc fanbois preaching how amazing the graphics were on video games like Evilpage down there. Sigh... Memories...
Very impressive. Especially the head shots.
I still play this game in my 64, and this is my favourite level.
A pain in the butt in those back days.
If you're wondering what the n64 version is like,I own every game in the series, its not too bad and pretty easy to learn. Also, you are the greatest turok player in history and I've seen ALOT of good players. One more thing,I kind of wish you would do more turok 3 videos because you were good on that one vid.
18:18 I can't believe how smooth this went! I always got annihilated!
You know you're awesome when you ride a Styracosaurus armed with rocket launchers.
Love the theme of this level
this game brings me back so many memories and specially the sound track of it😩😩😩😞
This game was so sick.
Epic game and gameplay!
the guns had such good impact sounds especially the shotgun
I still can't believe I beat this when I was 9 back in 2000. It still looks pretty difficult now and the N64 controls were awful....
The spiders are, and always will be, the most terrifying things in this game holy shit.
The mini raptors! (aka Compsognathus)
I found out what you're talking about, the cerebal bore,it's impossible because the undead don't have brain waves to lock onto.
This whole place is awesome!!!
This is the only part of the whole game I regularly die at least twice on before the first save point... good tactics with the riding guns!!
I wish they came up with an hd remake this game totally deserves it
Hi
It plays great on keyboard and mouse. I never played the N64 Version of the game and I don´t know if you can switch the weapon type with only one button in both versions (for example: shredder => shotgun; mag60 => pistol). The PC version has also better graphics (you can even turn shadows on through an .ini or .txt) and runs more flawless.
Oh man, this is so much better on PC. There is NO slowdown, and the game is NOTORIOUS for that.
you really aim in the headshots, I've played since I have six years and must not give so fast on target, there is always something new to learn ...
this game still looks pretty good for being more than 10 years old, dont you guys think?
3:32 is there a destroyable wall in front of you? Looks like a secret entrance, with the wall being darker there
Yep. Just tried it, it will lead you to explosive ammo and full health. It is also and alternative road.
This level's BGM at the beginning is epic👍.
The best game ever and i still playing this game in 2013 and this game have better grafic than ps1
Always loved the Styrocosaurus =)
Its weird how on 18:31 there's a door there but when I go there its not there just big crates
your right about the AI and somewhat about the graphics, they could of done better considering the time between the 2nd and the 3rd.But the music is pretty good actually, and I like the fact that they tried with the mouth movement in the cut scenes.
Its kind of weird how they changed the sound of the music on the PC version. Great resolution but the Music on the N64 is way better
Only played the N64 version. Is it possible to play the PC version on any modern PC, or is the game to old to work?
still playing in 2017
It runs perfectly on Win7 and older (didn´t test it on Win8) with an extra patch. You can find the patch on my website (link in the description) under the section: Downloads.
hey dude, please respond as I do to make the zoom in my view is in pc game please! answers need to know how to do the zoom
I don't know the default settings for zoom options, but you can set them in the options menu of the game launcher.
Options/Control/Keyboard
thanks!!!
Such a great playthrough on a great game! The PC version definitely looks and runs better, compared to the low frame rate N64, but nonetheless a great game. That level was my bane at first, but it isn't too bad now, and the soundtrack for that one is awesome.
Who remembers the eagle feathers in this game that have you special abilities
4:02 ¿Cómo destruyo la compuerta?. How I destroy the gate? Help!!
Destroy the four towers in the area like in this video:
th-cam.com/video/VL7tAkvBGig/w-d-xo.html
oye sabes como se ase el zoom con la flecha como asercas la mira que yo nose para pc
this was my childhood O_o
This just came out for ps4, remastered. Did not hesitate to buy the bundle (1 & 2)
Turok is one of my favorite video game series until I upgraded from a Nintendo 64 to a PlayStation 2 to a xbox 360, I beat the new turok in two days and I now play cod but if there is another turok I'm getting it
What does the famale voice say when you pick the tek bow arround 26mins?
'Sniper capability enabled' I think
The Nintendo 64 version looked almost as good here which was really impressive for console.
This could never have been done on Playstation.
The N64 version was more advanced than the PC version actually, it had a much better lightin/shadow engine. If only the framerate was stable...
Darrell Abbott Wow I would have never know this!
Pretty cool feat for a console back then. Nintendo 64 was fucking awesome!
+Darrell Abbott lol N64 version was excellent, but PC version was much better...
Yes. If you had a 600$ PC. Even then the PC version lacked the Realtime lighting engine. Which is no slouch. The N64 was 200$. N64 wins.
+Darrell Abott Sorry but no. PC has always been better than consoles. The N64 had a shit draw distance, can't see more than 20 feet in front of you.
why choose the PC verison over the N64 version?
+ChrisPTY507 Better graphics and more precise controls.
EvilGamesNPageDE At the cost of crappy music :/
also...do you know how to fuse controls? using the mouse to target and joystick to move character'?
+ChrisPTY507 Well one could create an ISO image of the original cd and edit the audio track, replacing the pc ones with the original n64 soundtrack. I did this for turok 1 already - it's mostly working, but it's not perfect.
EvilGamesNPageDE if it doesnt work properly, then what happens to the game? will it crash? or it will reproduce weird sounds in each level?
+ChrisPTY507 On current operating systems, there is a bug wich causes the music to stop playing entirely in turok 1 (level 4). This is a bug of the game - not the CD or anything. Or the control stick, whatever.
You can tell this isn't the remake since the enemies are properly scaled and the arrows aren't gigantic spears.
Is this the PC version? I don't know if there is one, but if there is, I want it. The graphics are different and the weapon wheel and various sounds (the runners as I called them, the primogen that run up to you to attack have a different death screech).
+Catsaretheworst yes, it's the PC version.
***** SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY! (I forgot where my N64 went)
Never found that one out...but would be interesting to know
Man im so glad the remaster removed that frame lock, new version plays like the smoothest smooth thing thats ever been made.
They didn't. It's locked to 60FPS as far as I know.
oh, wasnt the original PC port locked at 30 though? is what i meant. i could well be wrong.
Sorry, I should have been more clear. The original PC ports (both Turok 1 and 2) are meant to run at 30 FPS, but may run a little too fast (around 40FPS) without a frame limiter on a modern system. The remaster of Turok 2 has a frame cap at 60 FPS.What I meant to say is that you can't run Turok 2 Remaster at 120 FPS, hence there is still a frame lock.Which is weird, since you can manually unlock the frame rate of the first remaster...
oye bro como puedo poner la mira
del arco dime porfavor
how do open the gate near the end of the 1st area?
I assume you are pointing to the gate around 3:50. In the tunnel, there should be a fake wall somewhere you can destroy, to get to the area behind the gate (if I remember correctly).
I love the part where you had to ride a styracosaurus
How do I make it jump long distance? Thanks you.
I'm sorry, but could you specify what you mean by that? What time in the video?
how's the control on the pc version?
Is this particular game session on the PC? because i cannot completely turn off the look spring on my 64, it still centers when i move forward and is very difficult to pull of as many headshots as i do ^_^
Yeah, that's the PC version. As far as I know, the only N64 game where you could turn off the look spring was Turok 3. Sadly, it wasn't as good as Turok 1 and 2.
Screw tanks, you get a triceratops with mounted guns, you know you're on top of the world.
How do you get this game in HD dont wanna sound like a noob or anything but im new too pc gaming, thanks :)
What do you mean by HD? This video shows the best graphics you could possibly get out of the game. At the beginning, destroying 4 tall towers open the gate of 03:49
17:29 Bitch stole my arrows! Endtrails, deys the devil.
@9:45- What I like to do, is to jump in the poison water for shortcut. Of course, I normally do level 3 before this, so...
where can i buy this game on pc
thnx
How did u make music work? Is original cd needed?
Слава России Да. Это по диску. А Московия пусть сдохнет!
como ago el zoom en la mira del arco para acercar como ago alguien responde
Soundtrack of dinosaur hunter is the best
I liked Turok 3. It's different but its not bad. 2 is definitely the best of the OG trilogy though....
Still prefer playing this on the N64 since I still have it on N64 along with 1, 3 and Rage Wars. I'm still waiting for Turok 2 seed of Evil to get remastered on PC so I can play and beat it. amazing!
Tek Bow - sniper cape ability enabled
"Do a barrel roll!"
"Wait nooooo! - UUUUNGH" DEAD
This one looks better than the 3rd on my opinion
M lovely game... ☹
Seriously I have nightmares when I play this game. I was turok in my dreams I was fighting for my life
Dude, you're awesome!
My dad plays turok1
guessing he meant cerebral bore
I know, this is the best level!!
Good job Mate
Anyone still remember the cheat code for all the weapons and levels...oblivion is at hand
Oblivion is out there? Am I right?
Yeah its oblivion is at hand
Beware oblivion is at hand
I could never PROPERLY finish this game since I couldn't ever find all the keys and save the totems
iknow it you have some verry high towers at the begin if you look arround you will see them shoot them with the rino and the gate will open.
If anyone has another question pls ask me i know this game far 2 good XD

brain blaster?Tell me what that is and I'll help you.
the 3rd game was not bad!!Now I'm not arguing, but there is nothing wrong with that game.
z es para dispara con acercas la mira lo que ace en el minuto 5:28
