I think the solution to the puzzle is 1. Qh6. The only way to stop mate (other than spite checks) is 1...Qf8. But then, White hits Black with 2. Qxh7+!!. After the forced 2...Kxh7, there's 3. hxg6++, upon which the double check forces the king to move again. But 3...Kg8 allows 4. Rh8#, and 3...Kxg6 allows 4. Be4#.
Its probably at 3:25 that explains the interesting thumbnail. 😁 Anyways, as always, this is another great chess lesson from our beloved chess teacher. 👍
That comment in the end about how GMs play boring games was the best thing I've heard about high level games. For each game that has a brilliant move there are a dozen of slow positional ones where nothing spectacular seems to happen from beginning to end.
6:29 "That is a real knight-mare" Seriously, at first I thought these sort of wordplays of Igor are just in my head. But it happens way too often to be a coincidence.
The Bobby Fischer one I would move bishop e4 they can’t take with the pawn because it opens up the rook for easy checkmate. You sacrifice the pawn on h5 they have to take with the f7 pawn you then sacrifice the white bishop on g6 they don’t half to take but queen h6 leads to checkmate with queen h7 or queen g7

I'm rather disappointed to see no answer to your puzzle at 3:43 My knee jerk reaction is hxg6 If black doesn't take it we have gxh7+ King is forced to f8 then our pawn promotes on h8 and it's checkmate. Likewise after our hxg6 if black takes with hxg6 we have Rh8 checkmate. The only question is what if black takes with fxg6? Taking the pawn on h7 allows blacks Rh7 So I'm lost from there.

This has to be the most dirty chess thumbnail I've ever seen 😮
For a chess video*
Chess TH-camrs got the best humor damn
I’m guessing you haven’t heard of the Botez sisters lol
@@GregTurismo I have, I might have missed theirs, what video?
😂
1. QH6 QF8 (forced) 2. QxH7+ KxQ (forced) 3. H5xG6 dbl+ KxG6 (if KG8 then RH8 mate) 4. BE4 mate!
The thumbnail is crazy, anyways stopping children from saying first im here at 1 sec
If only it WAS just children. Plenty of adults are that pathetic nowadays too. Internet likes mean NOTHING
Thank you for your service 🫡
Yeah, if only it was only children…
You are doing the same thing
hi here at 1 sec, I'm dad
Thanks sir
I'm not usually a fan of clickbait thumbnails, but you got me with this one 😅
Qh6 Qf8 (ONLY way to avoid Qg7#)
Qxh7+ Kxh7
hxg6+ Kxg6 (...Kg8 leads to Rh8#)
Be4#
...c1=Q+, ...Rxc1+ & ...Rh1+ are just prolonging mate.
Beautiful

4:00 That weak squares part/explanation is so important and if you’re reading this watch it again

0:39 -This great game was used in The Queens Gambit series, when young Beth plays Mr Ganz without even looking at the board
That Bishop sac at about 06:35 was crazy. Fischer was just amazing ❤
Gorgeous
@@MyBiPolarBearMax Thank you. But what about the Chess?

6:31 "That is a real Knightmare!" 🤩
Incredible, incredible video. The type of thinking more amateur players need that grasp the basics but want to go to the next level.
Thank you for watching!
I love your channel, and the community that is involved.❤ Much love from Memphis Tennessee
Can you write somewhere the name and author of the book "playing boring chess sometimes"? Thank you and thanks for another great video
Its probably at 3:25 that explains the interesting thumbnail. 😁 Anyways, as always, this is another great chess lesson from our beloved chess teacher. 👍
1.Qh6 Qf8 2.Qxh7+ Kxh7 3.hxg6++ Kxg6 4.Be4#
Thank you for keeping make excellent videos !
At 6.35 : Bishop e8 is good defense
“Thanks Igor”. Lol. Your my favorite GM. Love your channel and Ty for teaching us.
Appreciate you for being here 💛
9:12 Shots Fired!! 🔥🔥🔥
The solution of the puzzle is -
1. Qh6 Qf8
2. Qxh7+ Kxh7
3. hxg6+ Kxg6
4. Be4#
Or,
1. Qh6 c1=Q+
2. Rxc1 Rxc1+
3. Kh2 Qf8
5. Qxh7+ Kxh7
6. hxg6+ Kxg6
7. Be4#
5:54 what is the point of playing h5 before Ng5? Why not go Ng5 first?
Thank you igor❤
POTD: 1. hxg6 fxg6 (if ...hxg6 then Rh8#) 2. Rxh7 Kxh7 3. Qh4+ Kg8 4. Qh8#
What about 2. .. Rh7?
@@warriorspb You're right, I didn't see the R on a7!
Plan B: 1. Qh6 Qf8 2. Qxh7+ Kxh7 3. hxg6 dbl ch Kxg6 4. Be4#
thank you very useful and clearly explained :)
Thank you for watching!

6:31 its a real "knightmare"
Just like you said a great advice in some old video, that you think: "What is wrong with my opponent?!"
Please black won queen gambit. Please any 5 Tricks.
RCA never disappoints
Position at 2:58
Qxh6
Based on the thumbnail I thought Igor was announcing a career change...
I used headphones to watch this

Last night @GMIgorSmirnov liked my X comment on lichess that made me to climb up to 2000 lichess blitz and bullet
Although I don't like clickbait thumbnails, but this one is really amazing
5:39 why h5 but not Ng5??
Qh6, the bishop on g2 is the strongest weapon of white..

Cool thumbnail
2:00 why can't the king create an escape on e7 with the move 36? I don't see how white can force a mate
Dude, that thumbnail is messed up 😂
