Yes, the same rules apply if you're creating triads based off of different roots. For example: In an E Major triad, my notes would be E, G#, and B. To create an E minor triad, I would lower the G# to a G natural. So an E minor triad would consist of E, G, and B. I can then turn that triad into a diminished triad by lowering the B to an Bb (E, G, Bb). I hope this helped!
