Thank you for being here. I found you when I started the procedure. I am now two week...ish pregnant. My family and I are thrilled. Cost wise for my IUI came to around 3500 GPB. That was sperm, two goes of IUI, pills, scan etc. I tricked my GP into doing my blood test.

How much would IUI cost without the medicated cycle?

Very, very, helpful video. I'm 38, single and already froze my eggs (went to Mexico) however I'm thinking it might be better to just start with IUI doing that 3-4 times and if unsuccessful using my eggs for IVF. My insurance won't pay for anything as they consider this all elective...... I know you don't seem to be commenting on people who ask you question so maybe some of the ladies reading this could answer my question. Is it safe to say that not including insurance and not including sperm that you are looking at roughly between $2,000-$2,500 for each medicated IUI cycle? I did not include the price of pregnancy tests, supplements etc. At sperm you are looking at $1,000 a vial (including shipping I think?) roughly when not on sale and it's recommended to buy 2 vials per IUI cycle. So total price per 1 medicated IUI cycle is roughly $4,500 including sperm? If I were to get this done between now and at 40 it looks like doctors (that I have found online anyway) seem to recommend that women do 3 IUI cycles before turning to IVF so assuming you need 3 IUI cycles you are looking at $13,500 as your worst case scenario until you possibly give IVF a try? I believe at the clinic I used in Mexico to freeze my eggs that 1 cycle of IVF with medication will cost $5,000-$6,000. This however does not include sperm which I'd assume would be about the same price as if ordering in the US so IVF. I'm just not sure if at my age it's even worth going through IUI if you will need multiple cycles if at around my age the odds are just roughly 10-20% a cycle with medicated IUI. I've seen some clinics in Mexico not even do IUI with women over 35 saying they should go straight to IVF.

Hello! I'm reaching out to all the SMBC's I follow. Sorry if you answered this in a previous video. I'm wanting to start browsing donors now, but I know I wont be able to start trying for 18 months or so. I've got to save up more money, and change careers (this is in the works already). Did you browse while handling a "to do before baby" list, or did you wait til all your ducks were in a row first?

In a similar situation, great question. Also would be interesting to hear more about planning leave and how to introduce those plans to your employer.

Wow it’s crazy how something that can be done for free ends up costing so much money for us folk who cannot conceive naturally. It makes me sad honestly…
