    Hey, Genius SSCP is Not a beginner Cert. from ISC2- "SSCP certification demonstrates you have the advanced technical skills and knowledge to implement, monitor and administer IT infrastructure using security best practices, policies and procedures established by the cybersecurity experts at (ISC)²."

    • @imentor__
      @imentor__  ปีที่แล้ว

      From ISC2 - “Two common certifications for professionals at the early stages of a security career are the SSCP from (ISC)² and Security+ from CompTIA.”

      From InfoSec: “The SSCP certification from (ISC)2 is among the best beginner-level qualifications.”

      @@imentor__ Thank you for your informative reply ISC2 -"Jobs that use the skills and education this certification offers include Database Administrator, Network Security Engineer, Security Administrator, Security Consultant/Specialist, Systems Administrator, Systems Engineer and Systems/Network Analyst." These are not beginner positions, it's highly contradicting to say "advance" while others are saying beginner. I asked ISC2 this two years ago. They stated that it is an intermediate cert and not a beginner. You cant be advanced and be a beginner at the same time, that makes no sense.

    I passed my CC exam yesterday and my plan was to do comptia certs because its tough for me to get that 1 year experience, then i read the condition of having a degree....im graduating in October with a Bachelors in Computer Science in Cyber Sec 😂 seems i got my work cutout for me till then🎉

      Correct, for the SSCP you can get certified by providing proof of your degree. Its good you did the CC exam as well anyway. It sounds like your on the right track - Good luck :)

    I done the CC course and exam. For the SSCP 1 year experience, how do you prove you have experience in some of the domains? Must the employer provide the prove or is it assignments or projects done etc..?

    • @imentor__
      @imentor__  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes they basically ask for a resume which contains your experience and details that prove you did relevant work. Then you need to get your application sponsored by a fellow ISC2 member who will basically sign to say it’s true (or ISC2) can sponsor you and in that case they’ll probably ask for a reference e.g. Previous line manager.

      How was CC exam and course?

      @pjsrk8841 I just took it this morning. I was nervous. I do believe it is harder than what is online during the training. Be sure to understand controls. Also things that involve Business continuity and Disaster recovery.

    I work as AV & Patch Management Engineer so it's a "light" security role. would this role fall into any of the SSCP domain to bypass the experience requirement (I progressed from Service Desk to this role 2 years ago)?

    • @imentor__

      I think it would fall into the ‘Systems and Application Security’ domain.

      You have to register and visit an approved PearsonVUE location. They scan the palms of your hands and you'll be under video surveillance.
