In the UK the ISC(2) CC exam holds more weight in getting an entry level sec job compared to the Security+. This is what all my colleagues have told me and might be useful for any Brits out there looking to get their foot in the door.

As one who has both, I walked through ISC2 CC in a few days. My situation is different as I am still in school and already have Sec+, I also try to learn cybersecurity everyday across a ton of domains. For someone that is green, give CC a shot, very digestible compared to Sec+

This is complete bullshit. You do not have to be a paid member of ISC2 to take this exam or receive the certification.
In fact, the only time being an ISC2 member is mentioned on the pages for this cert in in regards to FUTURE certifications and maintaining this one beyond the three year lifecycle.
This is standard practice with certs, and a shitload cheaper out of the gate than anything else. Absolutely no money changes hands up front for either the test or the cert.

I would look up key words they are asking for in find a way to include them in your resume and it will get looked at by recruiters. Try to apply for ISSE roles and ISSO roles.

One big difference is that US DoD has accredited Sec+ and Network+ from CompTIA but hasn't certified CC. That said, ISC2 has more certifications for the 54 different DoD work roles than any other provider. All the other ISC2 certs are DoD accredited. So I think the real value of CC is to get acquainted with the ISC2 testing style because the CISSP, CCSP, etc are some of the most valued cyber security certs in the industry.
One benefit of the CC cert is that it doesn't expire as long as you get continuing education credits. I also wouldn't say that the CC is completely free because you have to pay an AMF of 50 dollars per year.
I passed the CC the other day. I'd say the level of difficulty is similar to the Sec+. Believe it or not, Sec+ has an 80% pass rate while CC is around 53%. I never met anyone who didn't pass the Sec+.

100%! My primary issue with the CC is that it was released early last year so it’s VERY new in the industry, I believe this is why theyre giving out 1 million free exam vouchers so enough new cyber talent has it on their resume for HR/recruiters to notice and eventually make the change to add it as a job qualification. ISC2 is a huge org that created the CISSP so they definitely have name recognition but this cert is just too much newer than the Sec+ for me to recommend it to ppl as a complete replacement. I really don't care for CompTIA that much. Seems they received the same free government pass ec council did. I have wondered if they would even exist today without the government requirements and handouts. Imo NO. I've taken both the CompTIA and isc2 training and my best comparison of the two is, isc2 is like a nice summer day walking along the water at the beach and CompTIA is like eating your lunch on skid row downtown los Angeles on a hot rainy day in a cardboard box. Just my unbiased opinion.

Haha love the very specific comparison 😂😂 Sec+ is only relevant bc recruiters/HR has it as a requirement for job listings, even if there are better certs out there, unfortunately, it’s just the most well known/established one, which doesnt necessarily mean its the best like you said. Appreciate your thoughts on this, thanks for sharing!😁🎉

what happened to your linkedin wanting to be a cyber security engineer role. or was it only for the video and promoting ! . even this video is just to promote the bootcmap and your technical course. you have already mentioned both of these certs before along with the google cyber pro !

I'm currently not in the job market so I reverted the changes on my LinkedIn for now since the changes were optimized for recruiter outreach. On this channel, I share the courses, bootcamps, learning resources, etc that I recommend, it's meant to be a cybersecurity career resource channel so yes, I've mentioned these before in other videos.

I think these two certs cannot be compared. CC is much easier than Security+

Sec+ is difficult? It has an 80% pass rate. They are both similar in difficulty.

Ok, this comes directly from the administrator of the CC exam at ISC2. The CC is NOT comparable to the Security+ and should not even be compared. If you want to compare apples to apples, you should compare the ISC2 SSCP to the Security+. SSCP has a 1-year work experience requirement and has an exam fee of $249. So for those people who asserted that CC was a lot easier than Security+, you are PROBABLY correct. That said, I still think it's worthwhile to get the CC cert because it will gently introduce you to the ISC2 testing style and well, it's free.

Today I got passed in isc2 CC :) it was good would highy recommend this certification for any professional who wish to break in cyber security. Google CC , isc2 CC , security+ ( each of these certification are worth in their own standard ) to land you in cyber world. Can you do review on SSCP vs security+ ?

Thats awesome! Thanks for sharing your experience going through the cert path, I always recommend taking advantage of free resources, esp by ISC2. Will definitely add that to my video brainstorming list, thanks for the topic reccomendation!
