Was also aired here in Belgium in the sixties and a very big hit. Very fond memories from my childhood, it still makes me laugh. Is it nostalgia, but they made some epic TV series in the sixties and seventies, with great intro's. We had far fewer channels, but much better TV.

Tremont Ave back in the day. My mother used 2 take us there in the early 70s. I'm a 1966 baby. I remember on the corner of Crotona Ave & E Tremont Ave, The Bronx, NY 10457 an Italian pizza shop now a Chase Bank. The best pizza ever unlike the crap they make today or what they sell at Walmart.
This is truly funny. Today is the first time I have heard about this show. I was watching a documentary about :"The Munsters".Those two had a great timing!
She pulled out all the stops on 'car 54' and played a hilarious character as 'Sylvia Schnauser',the very melodramatic wife of ' She was already an accomplished stage actress before this tv show,and she made the best of her tv opportunity on 'Car 54'! Much more interesting than the bland 'Edna Garrett of later years!
now this is what funny is about what a bunch of nice guys they really care. but when they took off running that's classic stuff an the finish with the punch . funny!!! noise what noise.
such a great episode, absolutely hilarious and heart warming. good lesson on how much thought should be put into gifts for friends, co workers or family. god why cant tv be like this anymore..so much filth and garbage..seriously need more wholesome shows again

But now, I really appreciate it and see how sophisticated and intelligent it was, bringing in liberal politics and societal fears, things that other early 60s shows never touched. They even had a black cop! And a strong feminist!
NOT a "strong feminist". Just a woman who didn't need to to emasculate men. Also today's shows rewrite America as a country as a country that never HAD shows or a functioning society where people got along. It is ALL about revisionist history & division & ginned up racism.

I thought it was just me...couldn't make it out until recently. Funny theme song but it mentions only 4 out of 5 Burroughs of New York City. They leave out Staten Island. Maybe couldn't find a rhyme for it?

I had watched this many times on Nick at Night, never realized they had a mixed-race cast. Pretty good for the era!

The tall one looks just like Herman Munster or as I call him, Herman the Monster. He was a real monster, not too many people knew that.
