Oof...that line about being a real American...awful!! Too true. Probably embarrassed a LOT of people to not go that route which is exactly why it was put in there. 👏
It was similar, but in the Bilko episode it is an investment bubble scam where Bilko Sells shares in a worthless store to the 3 sgts who tricked him at poker (including Joe E Ross!)
Those kind of aprons come long & you fold them at the waist to length. I started wearing a denim one at a bar I worked in & a few others did too for durability - but white cloth is the usual one worn. I have really pretty floral vintage patterns too. Love my aprons. Too bad they arent much the norm in kitchens like they used to be being so practical. People don't cook like they used to either but I have a feeling that may have to change! People are going to find out things aren't so easy to throw out anymore & they need to preserve like in "the olden days".😂
To be fair, Jean Stapleton WAS in a _Car 54 Where Are You_ episode, but this was not it. She was in the one where Francis was acting like a lady's man...
My father was a Newark cop and he and his partner were assigned to car 54 before and during the time this show came out.
10:20 the dialog between Toody and Lucille is wonderful comedy writing!
Watching this çomedy brings memories of my father and Grandfather, along with the Brooklyn Dodgers.
What a sweet-natured episode!
Bravo!
She is a great comedic actor- the Gypsy woman. The timing was poifect!

Not to be a nitpicker, but why would Gunther have an apron long enough to fit Francis, who is much taller than Lucille?

Archie Bunker's wife (All in the Family) was the gypsy.
No...it was Maureen Stapleton, not Jean...
John sullivan wrong !
No, John. You're mistaken, you meant to say Oprah.
To be fair, Jean Stapleton WAS in a _Car 54 Where Are You_ episode, but this was not it. She was in the one where Francis was acting like a lady's man...
Her sister.
