I'd say that models is super detailed for 1/100 and closer to detailed display piece than gaming model. One of the most detailed 1/100 kits ever created. I want to be the first to tell you it was released in 2017, not 2018.
It is a very good 15mm Kingtiger. When Battlefront brings on their Kingtiger in Plastic at the end of 2021 (or 2022 due to Corona caused delay) it will have to rival that kit. If we are lucky that means that BF's kit will be not only very good but wheely very good. 😉
I've built three of these as well as Zvezda's Jagdtiger kits. The only bad experience that I had from a Zvezda kit was when I purchased a Jagdtiger kit off of Ebay and even tho the box was sealed with factory tape, one of the track sections was actually missing from the sprue. It looked as if someone had clipped it off before putting it in the box.. That was really really odd.
I bought 3 of them last year and I screwed up 2 times building them with large gaps in the hull as a result. It didn't help that it was my first kit at that scale. My advice for people that are new to kits of this scale is to dryfit the entire model first, complete the entire hull and tracks like this AND then glue it together. Don't make the same mistakes I made.
GrishnakAthanor1 Can relate.. but in 1:72 Didnt dry fit the Italeri starter i bought..turned out the wheels on the King Tiger didnt fit..So idler now looks ugly. ALWAYS test folks - dont assume you are going to get a perfect fit , chance is: ugly fit is higher. Buying dosen PSC soon in 1:72.. hope i dont mess it up, its my monthly food quota for 4 boxes.
Never put glue into the holes of a push-fit model. It creates air tight hydraulic springs. The air and glue can't be pressed out of the hole. It behaves like a car spring.
I looked every where for a flames of war tiger 2 but all of them where out of stock so I’m thinking of finally branching outwards to get what I want Only problem is how do I get a command figure in there

These videos are extremely addictive..watched it for 8th time last week .. *blinks twice for help* For anyone that breaks the MG on this kit, or wants to add MGs for other 1:100 kits: buy syringes. Put the sharp bit in the hulls, and file the opposite end so its not sharp. Fits the scale, its somewhat painted and has a hole- in a scale its nigh impossible to create. And you can heat it up, drag it or push gently to create bullet impacts in the kits. Totally didnt break a gun on 1/72.. nope, .. nada
Snap-fit model tanks are almost always a big disappointment. By the way, Herbert, you inspired me to purchase and build the 1/48 T34/85 1944 w/ flattened turret by Hobby Boss. I did assemble the full interior and engine but replaced the woven copper for the tow cables with stretched out paperclips.
Both King Tiger turrets were made by Krupp, the Porsche design King Tiger was too complex so they chose the Henschel was the total design of the tank not just the turret.
When I moved in 2017 the movers packed the room my minis were in before I could tell them what they were. So a 15mm W W II mini army, built up over 30 years ,was largely wreaked. If I ever do it again it will be with PSC and Zvesda.

Keith Plymale I feel horrible for you :( - im starting my own collection by PSC soon in 1:72 so i hope i will be able to guard em. Have you considered filling them up with something when you build em? Im planning to with non-expanding foam or plaster so the kits are one solid lump.
Push Fit models have very tight pin-holes. When you apply glue to them, it can happen that you get something like a hydraulic spring. It's impossible to press the air and glue out of the hole under the pin and never hardens in the right position. Don't ever put glue into the holes of push-fit models!
Paint it in a "white tiger" like your Tiger but using white, gray and black instead of orange, white and black. That is, if that's what you want to do.
A suggestion for decorating the tank: in the UK the Esso oil company used to advertise their petrol with the slogan: “put a tiger in your tank”, so why not give the tank the number 3550, with the number 3 inverted. I don’t know if this joke would mean anything in your part of the world...

No... when you realise that BF actually give us detailed tracks on their models, these are not detailed and look very plain
