This only applies to the 2021 refresh I assume? I have a 21 Plaid and I am just going to gut them and reuse the lenses. I found the last set on ebay. Did you have any trouble getting the drivers side taillight connected to the charge port out?

Hey question maybe you know or maybe you don’t. I’m gonna be piecing together everything I need for this mod, but noticed for the lamps I’m seeing versions that says 12.0V and another that says 13.5V….same lamp, same part number just one is version B and the 13.5V one is version C. I wonder what’s up with that and if it makes any difference for this retrofit purpose?
hi! I have a 2022 Model S LR, i have the previous gen tail lights (unfortunately) and i would love to know the part numbers for all the tail light parts in this video. I was told it would not be able to retrofit due to the charging port but this video shows otherwise. Thank you again !
Hey brother I have half done this conversion to my car as well but I just did it in a different way by retaining the factory charge port and side reflectors. Here is my question, did you have any issue with the wiring? My car is having a bunch of issues and it complaining on the dash. Did you put an adapter and if yes can you send the link for said adapter? PS: love the interior lighting in your car, looks sick. I may do it to my 2017 as well. Thanks for the replay in advance.
First off thank you for both videos! You actually messaged me a link to the matrix Headlights and I bought them. They will be on Wednesday. Also, I had Tesla order the newest VC left controller and the swivel screen mechanism. Plus the harness from your buddy. Got the headlights for $600 and the other parts from Tesla are about $250. Only thing I’m having trouble sourcing all the parts for the tail lights. Did you order all your parts individually? Or did you find a deal on a full set? Not 100% sure I want to tackle the tail light part as it seems like a lot of work and just the charge port is $258 on eBay not including any of the lights, or the other reflector. Any advice or to get some full of tail lights? Thanks man! Great job and much appreciated.
Hey! for the tail lights I did all ebay, was much cheaper, $150-$200 per light and charge port was $100 but that was my case, could be more from other sellers
@@reidtomasko3857 awesome yeah that was roughly the price I was getting. I’m surprised to considering I got a brand new set of matrix submit for a little less than $600. Now my question is when you have the guy configure the vehicle do I have to have the new tail lights installed at the same time? Or can he configure? Just metrics Headlights and I’ll deal with the tail lights later. The reason I ask is because I bought some of T Sportline’s tail lights that are coming out but they’re aftermarket but designed to look like the new tail lights. I also ordered the new trim from Tesla which is already here. Also doing tilt Motor In VC left at the same exact time. Only thing I was going to leave was the tail lights for now do you think that’s possible?
@@reidtomasko3857 thanks man! You’ve been a huge help! I’m waiting until I get my tilt motors this week from Tesla and the LH VC controller this week. Got the adapter from your buddy today and matrix lights showed up. What does he need to connect to the car? I had my MCU replaced so I have the ethernet port underneath do I just use my USB-C to ethernet and plug in a ethernet cable? Or do I need a special cable? I might try the tail lights too I’ll see if I can get a set at a decent price
Hello, I got alpharex tail light which is plug and play but now my right passenger one is not giving power or not powering on. Did I reset an efuse? Help lol. Do you know where’s the e fuse for our car?

@@reidtomasko3857 You haven't sold it yet?) I really like your work you are a genius and I want to do the same on mine, but maybe you can just sell me this kit with front and rear lights and I will send you my original set of bulbs from the same car, they are like new 26 thousand miles . ALSO THE TRUNK lights are plug and play and require no mods to work

This is quite the project!! I love it! The new look is amazing! Nice work on the charge port door!!
Thank you
You can try adjusting the little black rubber bumpers on the trunk lid/body. They spin and are height adjustable.
All the parts I bought,
2x Trunk Tail Lights

Hi, what was the price for each ? Nice job, looking at doing the same on mine :)

So the #1607360-00-G is the Display Mount ASY (motors) and #1585694-03-B Left Controller GEN4.
What’s the point on getting it recognize in the computer if it’s plug and play? So do I need to update the system or it doesn’t matter?

Hey, this only works on the refresh models with a config change, You will need to do some extra wiring etc that I don't know how to do on a 2017
Nice work
Im confused... was your original tail lights the same as the 2012 model S? Was there only one revision since 2012?
You are correct
@reidtomasko3857 wow that's so cool! I'd love to do this to my P85D. It looks so good! Great video.

Hey man. I have the OEM lights but the left side is slightly uneven. I think you’ve sold this and moved on but did you ever get it resolved?
To make it work correctly, you just had to change the configuration? Or did the wiring need to be changed? I have Plaid 2021 and want to do the same

Yes, super easy to find them, I would just search on ebay, if you still can't find them I will try to gather them for you
will this mod work on a 2015 Model S?
Everything but the config part will
How much are these taillights? Are they AlphaRex?
No ccs?
