Indeed ! The cinematography is out of this world and the quality of the overall image can easily rival with cameras from nowadays but with that grainy touch that adds so much to it !
@@art_means_artificial Eh I prefer 2049 by a long shot but this movie was still soooo ahead of its time! Also you can't really enjoy 2049 without watching this one first
@@geometrydashiuppiter6910 2049 seriously feels emotionally hollow and vague ... the world of the 1982 original feels soo rich, just simply richly fleshed out ... For example the streets are filled with people of all sorts of cultural background (arabs, japanese, Hare Krishnans, punks, ostrich sellers, dwarf urchins etc etc etc), but the sequel has everyone dressed without much cultural indication, they're doing nothing much except standing around or walking or just eating , they're supposed to be poor people but we cannot really tell ... unlike in the first movie we can tell its the lower class people ... And how can the entertainment street of Las Vegas leading to the casino be so empty there's not even tall street lamps, traffic signages, big ad displays ... the radiation could not possibly vaporise everything right ??
It's 41 years old - as of 2023 - and it is as visually stunning as anything out today. Ridley Scott created one of the most immersive movies ever made. From the story, the visuals, the music, to the performances.
@@michaelhawkins7389 yes they have their own very different unique stylistic approaches to how they were shot, the types of film/cameras used, and just the cinematography and style and just overall look in general that sets them apart from each other. Which is why it’s hard to see which one looks “better” than the other, since they are pretty different from each other (or actually technically they are very different, but 2049 obviously stuck with the same basic concept of the original Blade Runner film, both visually and plot wise and overall, obviously that is needless to say though, since it is a sort of sequel, after all…but still it’s hard to pick which I like better. Like you said, I also just like both of them pretty much equally, each one for different reasons.).
@@michaelhawkins7389 Yucks ... 2049 has many scenes with really flat lighting, under lighting, over-saturated lighting, uninteresting lighting ... The orange street scenes are oversaturated, also how can the streets of Las Vegas be so empty like its a big empty studio filled with fog ? Wait, its a big empty studio filled with fog, thats why it looks that way ... 2049 is the most overrated movie in the last 20 years I believe ..
Downright astonishing and, in some instances, more beautifully done that its sequel. And all shot on film (no such thing as digital cinema). No computerized editing (non linear editing). And no CGI.
1:12 I love Rutger Hauer’s iconic image in this version as the only one occupying this entire shot, however his reaction is more meaningful to me with Joe Turkel’s hand - or thumb - on his shoulder in the director’s cut
Such a worthy film for your process. Every moment of it is an art photograph. I watch it again and again, just for the beauty. Your video is kind of a Reader’s Digest condensed version of all that beauty, and shows some of my favorite scenes. Blade Runner - sigh. Even each character was designed to be a work of art . . . and . . . I have never seen more continuous interesting, stunning, and beautiful lighting - layers and layers and layers!! I can go on and on! Lol! Thanks for your synopsis.
LOVE THE BLADE RUNNER MOVIE!!!! Love these amazing stunning shots, pure cine-magic!!! Incredible work..the movie was ahead of its time.. what a cyber-punk universe..
WOW! Truly Amazing Shots of BLADE RUNNER nicely put together...and the music so BLADE RUNNER esque...Ridley Scotts visionary masterpiece is timeless...Vangelis soundtrack Greatest sci-fi movie ever.
This is an outstanding upload. A goodly percentage of the scenes are outtakes, possibly never seen before by many of us. The street scene at 1:51 showing the elevator ascend is magnificent, and should have been left in Blade Runner.
bravissimo! la malinconica genialità di Scott è ripresa con grazia. Perfino il dolore di un mondo che è in lacrime di pioggia sia di giorno che di notte come se fosse normale.
Wonderful job man! I've always thought that Blade Runner (1982) is someway style over substance and a little bit overrated, but I've to rewatch it after your video and maybe I will change my mind! Thank you!
2049 is the most overrated movie of the last few decades ... I was soooooooo disappointed in the theatre, to think I was so hopeful entering after hearing praises from the press, I came out think whats wrong with everyone.... what has happened to good taste ?

It's hard to believe this is a 1982 movie. What a visual masterpiece.

This movie was my main inspiration to become a photographer.
This movie was way ahead of its time with visuals and cinematography. Still holds up extremely well today.
One of the most beautiful films of the last century, brilliant job!
Thank you mate!

RIP to The Greek composer Vangelis… I raise my glass OPA!
It’s called ART DIRECTION baby!
The in camera effects still hold up today, superb film.
Thanks for this.
Thank you for watching!
When the soundtrack (Vangelis) matches the feel of a film!! Great job Ridley Scott
It is every viewer's dream to be part of this Delightful Futuristic World...
Beautiful video! Who knew that they were capable of making movies like this so long ago. Brilliance in it's form.
Thank you my friend!
Truly a masterclass in set design

Best looking movie ever made
Not in my opinion. Definitely one of them though.
@@ezramotz1995 I do think Blade Runner 2047 looks better , however that is a newer film , I think both Blade runner films looks amazing regardless :)

Prime example of cyberpunk noir.
I’m 54 yrs old. I live in my current time. If this time ever existed I would trade places I belong there …
Chris Nolan the director of Dark Knight trilogy has watched this movie 💯 times...
Who wouldn’t?
Please do Once upon a time Hollywood.
Also, once upon a time in the west! :D
or maybe once upon a time in anatolia?
Seriously, Marvel has no excuse for what they're putting out now when the visuals in a 1982 film look this great.
Music choice is absolutely perfect, how the hell did you even find that track. Sounds amazing

Amazing shots from BLADE RUNNER: 2 hrs video
So i know theres atleast 3 different versions of this movie, but what i wanna know is if all these shots are from the theatrical release?
Blade Runner 2049 did not meet or exceed this movie's expectations....
I dont compare each movie to eachother. Each have their strengths and weaknesses. Both are pieces of art
