What stone was that ? Looks pretty soft...? You reveal that you heat treated the nail. It would have added some value to the video if you had shared that....
Hi Bert, it’s a Derbyshire grit stone. It is a good stone for carving letters. I didn’t heat treat; I was just saying that the end of the video it would have been a good idea to keep the edge sharp. Thank you for watching ⚒️⚒️
@@TheStoneRanger 👍 it's just that you mention requenching at the end and to me that means heat treatment.. Having said that, in my experience, heat treating even a modest nail does add a modicum of hardness... BTW what material is the head of that msllet ? I felt quite sorry for it...
That's some crazy stuff there, good work.
😂😂😂 Thank you

@@TheStoneRanger I think that most nails are mild steel - can't harden that...Great job - I was wondering how long that nail would hold its edge.
@@KB-dd9xr Not very long at all & thank you 👍

@@bertkutoob Yes, I was wondering if it would help, but my knowledge of Hard-enable metals isn’t so great, as you can tell 😂😂
