Hey everyone, I'd like to thank you all for taking the time to watch and comment. I'd like to also say sorry for not being able to reply to all these comments, but just know that I really do appreciate all the love. From reading the comments, it sounds like besides the reminders that I can't pronounce Sade correctly lmao, a lot of you found value in this video and that makes very happy. I'll be bringing you some more art soon. Stay tuned!
Please make more videos like this this was amazing and I really want to start doing studio work but just dont know how to start. Ive mostly been doing documentary photography and just cool things walking around but Ive only done a proper shoot with modles (just my friends). Do you have any suggestions on how to do more model work and/ studio work? Thanks
The colours of the mural background at 9:33 aligning perfectly with Ur jacket and untucked tee after you've talked about the use and potential of colour in art, is so fire.
I don’t usually comment under youtube videos but this was truly an incredible viewing experience. You really have something here and if you keep working hard you’re gonna be huge. You’re an artist!
Maaaaaaaan , Your storytelling, your way of editing, colourgrading, composition and everything is sick. I felt as if I was watching a movie or a pilot of a TV show. You planted the seed of this channel so perfectly that I would always be waiting to see it grow into a tree. You earned a subscriber mate. You deserve it man. Love from NEPAL.
Yoooo the production quality is insane on this one! The colorgrading, cutting, composition and storytelling were all amazing. Keep up the good work! Much love from Germany
3:47 - 4:47 I couldn’t help but notice the destroylonely playing in the back😂 it’s rare to see videos be put together so well like this one, I loved it
God damn bro, the energy of these videos is contagious. Even tho I have no experience cinematography or photography, watching this makes me feel more in tune with my creativity. I loved how at the end you said that basically any good artist has found a way to incorporate what they grew up with and how they see the world, into their work. And that which ever medium you choose, art is the best way to be taught this lesson that everything is always connected with its environment. In that sense, it feels like we’re studying life itself. I dropped out of University but best believe I’m studying the game.
The difference between the scripted speech and the way you interact with your friends in the studio is somehow comical. Makes you wonder which one is acted :) great video and awesome shoot, keep it up!
This is the type of content I believe we all need. A mix of genuinely good film making, with a splash of case-study like work, that’s a tutorial-like video with some vlog-style footage & talking head YET still having a strong underlying message? This is quite honestly THE best TH-cam video I’ve stumbled across in years. Genuine work was put into this video & it shows.
you're going places! great video! my art teacher in high school had this book on her desk. I used to always steal or reference photos and when she caught me I would make a joke about "stealing like an artist". she would say "if you really read the book you know that's not how you steal like an artist". anywho, glad you made a vid on it! your perspective was great! love the evangelion style chapter cards!
Dude, this video was amazing. It was as if a video essay and a filmaker / photographer / cinematographer had a baby who's manifesting their talent in the form of content for others to learn from. Not sure if any of that made sense, but what should make sense is that I just subscribed. You deserve it man!
I feel like I'm always looking for videos like this on youtube, but rarely find them. Fresh, original, creative, engaging, and full of so much promise! You've got something kid, keep it up.
Bro i cannot even explain how much talent you have. Vibes were sicck. Super inspirational man, keep it up please. As an artist, photographer, musician, videos like these keep the ideas fresh and inspired.
This is gonna be BIG The intro, the ending, the colour grade, the narration, and of course, the visuals. This is storytelling at its finest. I’m so happy the algorithm gods put this on my feed to watch. You’re gonna go so far!
this is giving me goosebumps because it’s like one of those times where we may have witnessed a director who will come to film amazing thrilling movies and we will be the few to say we saw his beginnings on youtube
I know you used the book for influence on this video. But this was a genuine masterpiece. From breaking down shots from films, to applying it to your own photos. Then at the end even being critical of the entire thing in order to improve later on. Genuinely blown away by this and I'm not even the type to leave comments. Damn, all I can say is well done!
The fact that you can hunt down the specs of these looks, implement them in an actual artistic piece of work, and then take the time & effort to explain the whole process to us, makes me wonder how many hours are in a day on your planet. This is just amazing. Right on.
thank you for sharing your art with the world. and for involving me in your vision. it was a pleasure working with such a creative and passionate team of artists. love!
Never thought I'd get a lesson in authenticity from a video about stealing art lol. This guy has so much talent.. but that awesome authenticity and honest desire to perfect his craft? you can't manufacture that, its real. I feel like that was the lesson i took from this, thank you for making and sharing it.
Loved this! Every sequence was catchy and the storytelling was so good ! As many comments say, it was definitely an amazing viewing experience, thank you for that!
I sometimes wonder if artist like you realize how great you are. Not just how you shot this video, but also your passion and knowledge of film. I love film, know nothing about it, yet watched the whole video.
im adding this to a specific playlist for gems. interesting to see a ridiculously talented artist in a probably minima phase of their life and dive real deep into their passion in such a digestible way. on top of being an artist being able to articulate urself is a whole other level of skill. im sure at one point you will abandon the youtube for you're art but pls go as deep into it as u can for as long as u can. i am a musician w a love for visual arts and this stuff is fantastic to watch
only 13k subs?? this was probably the best art video ive seen in awhile. you showcased so many top skills while providing value through educating. tied together with you physically doing it yourself. great.
Yes, thank you! Knowing WHY you choose to do something is so important. Sure; emulate your favorite artists, copy their techniques to experiment and practice. It’ll help you develop the skills and knowledge you need. But when it comes to creating your body of work as an artist, the starting point is your INTENTION; what do you want to express through your work and why?? Once you’ve defined your intention, pick the tools and techniques you’ve acquired through practice and experimentation. Choose what can best serve your intention; what makes the most sense to convey what you desire to express. This is just my opinion, but stealing for the sake of it won’t help you make great art. What you have to offer/say must be part of the equation.
Bro you’re amazing. I had chills from beginning to end. Man, seeing art like this always reminds me why filmmaking is the best art form there is and why I love it so much. Your channel is definitely gonna pop off bro. Keep it up man cause I can’t wait to see more! 🔥💯
this video is so inspired, and the structure made it so enjoyable!! It felt both like I was learning and being involved, props to you. I can really see you blow up with these quality uploads :) the sound on this video is insane. how did you get the audio so crisp even with the difference in voiceover and talking w friends?
I am so excited that your video inspired me to use creativity to make my content more human and alive. The finance niche is so messed up imo, filled by get rich quick schemes, lifeless repetitive and fear mongering vids about how we are about to collapse. I think storytelling in the finance niche can be a game changer like Kurgesagt has done with science vids, and Oversimplified with history vids. Thanks for this video man!
New fav channel- bro mentioned MF DOOM, Suspiria, Fallen Angels and Vertigo within the first 3 minutes. Not even mentioning the STELLAR editing choices. Bravo my friend, you're doing it
Putting this comment rn because in the future no one will believe I was here before you blew up. Just binged your channel, you're going places my guy, love your art.
What you consider to be “sampling” in film would be more accurately compared to sample interpolation. Tarantino didn’t take the actual footage of the aristocats dancing. He saw the feel of the dance and went with it. It’s kind of like how Spielberg used shots and moments from various old western movies for inspiration for the Indians Jones films. Interpolation is designed to pay immediate homage to works of art whereas sampling songs is focused more on the repurposing of the original recording. A great example of a hybrid of interpolation, sampling and covering all in one is Close To You by Frank Ocean. It’s a cover of a carpenters song that samples a cover Stevie wonder did on 70s UK television where frank changed the lyrics and Melodie’s drastically so that it’s a completely different song. THAT is how an artist steals. Great video btw. Keep up the good work.
Wow you have a great touch bro. Sending you lots of love & flowers. This video has the spirit of a different time like it was created decades ago. Please keep going
When I saw this video thumbnail I immediately knew it was inspired by the final scene of Fallen Angels and there was no clue from the video title - so you did an amazing job recreating it. Subscribed!
wow this is a different style from every other youtube video! many videos talk about this subject but you putting in your twist really captured my attention! hopefully i can work my way up and collab with you someday!
woooooooOOOO this channel has me wanting to start my own... Egglestein is one of my favorite photographers and Steal like an artist got me really serious about art. The photos you made got me feelin so reminiscent

In businesses you use different types of sources to formulate a strategy. The different combinations of theories and business structures make a company. In art it’s kind of the same way from my perspective. You use different aspects of designs and work to make it uniquely yours.
Just stumbled across this video in my recommended - as an aspiring director in film school and a photographer, this really inspired me. Gonna be able to say I was one of the first 10k subscribers. This style of storytelling and cinematography is incredible. You can really see the thought and time put in.
bro i dont even do photography or video or anything visual(i do music) but this was awesome. just seeing a fellow creative speak so passionately about their subject and seeing the process and how you transposed the idea of sampling to the visual realm was really dope. kudos

bro your a genius! love hearing the knowledge even though i dont know much about what your talking about. Would Love to work with someone such as yourself! Please upload more
My favourite part is where you link the idea of sampling back in with outro, using the original sample Kanye used for I Wonder - so good man keep it up
The last part of this did it for me 😭. I’m always trying to go out and find natural cinematic images in real life and it makes me appreciate my world so much more.
This was super dope - and my first introduction to your page! It's so interesting to come upon this video and feel my own inspiration to dive into creating content that exemplifies all the art that makes me, which now includes this video as well :) thanks for your work, I'm subscribing NOW!

We’re missing this kind of FEEL and creativity in our era. A lot of content is lifeless and fast paced I’m with this
Using a song that Kanye sampled in a video about how to “steal”/sample was icing on the cake.
So sick
Thank you! Love your channel!
Yo gawx now that i see you in the comments of this video i realized that this vid actually resembles your stuff a lot and vise versa
