@@roberthorn1838 I agree to an extent. She did have a gifted voice by nature, but I just can't warm up to such inflexible, pachydermatous singing. If your repertoire includes roles such as Eboli and Azucena, you should at least have some agility, as well as an upper range that doesn't stop dead - on a good day - at G5.
All that is pretty catastrophic... 😅 First the singing is really mediocre, even if the voice is beautiful in itself, there's not the slightest agility, it's obvious that this role isn't for her at all. And then, above all, while "Non piu mesta" is the bravura aria of "La Cenerentola", the one where the actress is supposed to do the show at center stage ; well, here they've decided not to film her for a second while she's singing, and to show everything and anything instead of her. It's surreal. 😂
@@fan2jnrc Yeah, these opera films from this era leave a lot to be desired. Sometimes I just try to remember that they were just trying something that didn’t really have a lot of precedent. And naturally with multiple goals at odds with each other, not everyone (or possibly no one) is gonna be fully satisfied.

This wasn't a part for her, but she is still better than many later "dramatic mezzos" trying to sing this repertoire.
