- We get to know Downton Abbey's Laura Haddock in our latest episode of What You Don't Know About Me.
Haddock has been a recognisable face for some years now; from standout roles in prestige BBC dramas like 2019’s The Capture, playing Chris Pratt’s mother in Guardians of the Galaxy, running with robots in Transformers: The Last Knight and starring in 2020’s cult Netflix binge White Lines; an epic Ibiza-set drama that proved the ultimate lockdown escapism.
This week, she joins the ranks of another revered ensemble cast; Downton Abbey. She plays silent-era matinee idol Myrna Dalgleish - part gloriously imperious twenties starlet, part emotionally vulnerable young woman - in the second film instalment of the franchise; Downton Abbey: A New Era. “It’s been amazing joining the cast, they’re brilliant,” she grins. “You see them all on screen, and they’re wonderful, but actually backstage, they’re brilliant as well… they made us all feel very welcome.”

Just seen The Recruit where she plays a Belarus spy (with black hair and a kinda Angelina Jolie dangerous killer look), excellent series btw and she was so excellent on it, Thot I d never seen her before so looked her up to see what other movies she d done and Geez Louis!! I was so surprised to find out that she s not from eastern Europe but British and also blond and younger looking and kinda soft hahahaha, just goes to show how good of an actress she is. She was great, unrecognisable, scary and all! And Noah Centineo as well, the tension between them, the series was thrilling, didn't know what was gonna happen , I watched it all in the one go. She was so cool, I can't believe she s now saying that if she wasn't an actress , she would ve liked to have a CAKE SHOP! 🤯🤯 I mean she is MAXINE MELADZE, the ruthless spy! Haha
Yet another UK actress that just floors me with her beauty and wit. I think prettier than AJ personally. Wow.

Goodness me! What a great actress! After watching the recruit, she cannot be British with this lovely accent! Haha... I mean, she was born in Belarus, right!?!? Her accent interpretation and acting is superb! How wonderful she is!!!

Just watched The Recruit and don't tell me she's not Angelina Jolie. You could basically feel that they're the same person. Like Angie's character of Salt continues to be that of Laura's in The Recruit.
