North shore is one of my least favorite places to ride. I remember that time when Boston was so empty. Eerily quiet. Enjoyed the ride through the Financial District, down Congress to Downtown Crossing.

Since I got laid off, I can't stop riding and won't stop for the sake of the STOKE and seeing old stomping grounds in Beantown is a treat.

I was just sick with *something* the past few weeks. I had a weird fever, with intense, ass-kicking chills, intestinal trouble, cold and sore throat. My lungs weren't bad, just coughed up some gunk. Don't know what that was. Cyclist's lungs are generally in good shape. Cycling is proven to increase lung capacity. Unless you breathe in tons of smog on your rides. Could have been it, I couldn't get tested without going to an ER, so I don't know. Since I had no lung problems, the doctor didn't tell me to go to the ER. I didn't want to go to the ER in case it wasn't Covid-19. I didn't want to spread Covid-19,if it was that so I stayed home. I normally don't get sick, and never during spring. What helped this *whatever* virus was keeping warm, even if it meant turning up the heat in my pad to 80 F. I did a water diet- a gatorade water diet- because that's all I could consume with all the intestinal trouble, stomach upset and puking. I advise you to do a Gatorade water diet over plain water, because you are going to need electrolytes. Heat was very, very helpful with those chills and this virus. I read the virus replicates slower in heat and humidity. Hopefully, summer and climate change will help slow the spread, LOL. Current research on coronavirus says cytokines or inflammatory chemicals in the body cause the fatal lung problems. We cyclists are lucky because we get the best aerobic training. But, we are still vulnerable to this pain-in-the-ass virus. So, don''t train when you're sick with this or anything that might be this. Aerobic exercise increases IL-6, the cytokine that's triggered by Covid-19 so I'd advice resting until you feel normal again. I over did it and paid with the fever returning full force. I don't know what I was sick with. Whatever it was I hope it's gone forever.
@@lucasbrunelle Not until I'm fully recovered. I have a paint respirator mask. I recommend getting one if you hang out around any potentially sick people or don't want to make people sick. Plus, it's good at keeping out pollution, smoke, etc. It looks scary too. Now I keep people and myself safe at the grocery while I look like I have a gas mask on. Will be fun to ride in. I don't have trouble drawing air in with this mask unlike the white dust masks, so I can ride with it. It's a 3M 7500 paint respirator half mask.
@@lucasbrunelle It slightly restricts airflow. Regular dust masks, even thin ones do restrict airflow. I hate those things. In other words, I wouldn't do an Alleycat wearing a paint respirator, but I certainly could ride normally with one.

Best thing about this ordeal in the States, is that the STREETS ARE EMPTY! The riding has been unprecedented. I've been riding very boldly lately.
