Some advise. Do not use drywall screws to hold spinning wood. They are too brittle. You should not use spindle roughing gouge on end grain. The handle can break off. Not advisable to use a spindle gouge inside. You should use bowl gouge or carbide. Nice bowl!

tech screws are better like a short roofing screww
There are woodturning clubs all over. Check to see if there is one in your area. You can see great demos, and get advice from years of experience.
