As a person who travelled a little bit, I can tell you one thing. Not all countries have the same card system.
The NL absolutely adores its system, which in France is only used by 12-to-18. Italy really, really likes the magnetic strip and hand-sign. The USA much prefers credit cards, even though many countries restrict sales to debit-only.
And Germany is the kind of place where you hesitate even having a credit/debit card in the first place, because so many businesses just tell you "Entschuldigung, ve only take the cash".
Anyway, that no-cash policy must be modern. Last I came to Norway, my problem was more "how do I not get stranded on an island after the last boat leaves for the mainland" or "please let it be a bus before tomorrow", rather than "can I please pay with cash"...

People in Norway see it as rude to display your wealth very publicly. Those who buy expensive watches usually don’t buy those with diamonds or gold for example. Those who are rich get tailored clothes instead of expensive brands.

Don't strike up conversations with strangers, LOL! My significant other is Swedish and Scandinavian people are very introverted and keep to themselves. Be prepared for miserable weather and take along appropriate clothing because it's rainy and windy and cold most of the time, even in the middle of summer. Other than that, enjoy the beautiful natural scenery and the beauty and history of every place that you visit!

I take it you don't have to pay to use the toilets in public places? In Poland we always had to walk around with some coins in your pocket in case you needed to use the bathroom in old town Warsaw. They wanted money at the door for public toilets. Haven't been in ages, but I hated that. I wonder if they still do that...
