  • More than 10 million people in Thailand sought treatment for illnesses linked to air pollution in 2023, authorities have said.
The data, from the National Economic and Social Development Council, has been released at a time when Thailand's air quality is getting worse.
Widespread burning of farms and forest fires, notably in the country's north, have created a noxious smog.

I tried retiring there. I would not wish that on my worst enemy. Chocking to death months on end. Horrible place to live. I left, never to return.

I would love to go to thailand but when my sister went she said the air quality difference was so noticable, i thought id never see her face break out with acne like that.
She went from clear face to chronic acne in a few days over there. I just wish they can fix that air quality in someway in asia

Air pollution does not cause acne. It aggravates existing acne. Rarely see a Thai in Bangkok with acne.

      The air is polluted.
In east Asia they have bugs, rats and dogs farms for consumption, it’s insane. Gross gross. Please be selective, like Bali or Malaysia…

These are reported issues 10 million most of us don't report the symptoms of constant coughing and running eyes and nose. Let alone feeling unwell it's PM2.5 levels and fact they still sell Euro 3 level diesel vehicles we are doomed whilst the Tourism authority act as though everything is fine and be quiet and it will go away.

I know I was here, makes me want to move to Bejing, better there. Btw don’t listen, they are not trying to solve the problem at all. They can’t even if they wanted to, crop burning is the biggest problem, amazed she didn’t mention it. There’s too much corruption in Thailand to try and enforce anything, so nothing will happen about it any time soon, just like nothing has ever been done about it up until now, no matter how bad it gets

The major of the pollution comes from Chinese overuse.

Not only does Thailand and South East Asia have horrible air quality, they also have a large amount of several strains of Tuberculosis. They have overall bad air flow if that makes sense.

Disingenuous to put all of these illnesses on air pollution. Thailand has a high smoking rate.
Also, air pollution in Thailand is not a simple topic. In Chiang Mai it’s mostly land burning, both domestically and from neighbouring countries. In Bangkok it’s mostly from traffic, probably mostly from the infamous buses.

The current metro area population of Bangkok in 2024 is 11,234,000. Take a look at 0:42. You telling me that breathing that shit 24/7 isn’t gonna cause a host of health problems? And that’s just Bangkok. Put away your agenda and get real. 👍

Not to deny that pollution is a big problem, but don't take the numbers at face value. The increase in number of people who had respiratory illnesses was in large part due to the increase cases of flu, covid, and other viruses, which are not related to pollution. That woman is taking the statistics out of context.

The population of Thailand is falling. Mostly couples are not having 3 children anymore so the population is falling did you not read national demographic figures.
