- Namaste, Do you know that manufacturers do a lot to reduce the Noise level inside a car cabin. Here are some of the main reasons for Noise and things that manufacturers do to counter them. Here I have taken examples of two very different cars, a budget car Alto K10 against the luxury SUV Range Rover.

Also people should know measuring of sound includes logarithmic scale, means 55 db is not 10% more than 50 db, its acutally much more louder than that, roughly 15-20% more. Hope this helps. and loved the vid gagan bhahiya. 💯

Its more than 2-3 times that of 50dB.
1dB difference is almost 7% difference in sound, so 5dB increase is 35% increase in sound.

It was nice watching this informative video. However a next part can also be created based on how to improve the insulation with budget cars, can be some partnership with brands which provide such solution. All in all it was nice to see such work❣

Baki yek cheez aur ye, wo he rattle noise, expensive gaadio me material & fit and finish kafi acha hota he isiliye 1-2 saal ya kaafi chalane ke baad bhi usme rattle noise nahi aata but budget cars me kafi baar ye problem dekh ne ko milti he, mere paas 2011 ki Manza he and us me ye kafi badi dikkat he 😅😅

Glad to see most of the dampings like RR are there in my Ecosport too. Be it Engine firewall damping or Rear wheel damping etc
Yes door damping is quite amazing in my ecosport too
Firewall is present in all cars, it is to protect the passengers in case of an engine fire

Alto lenewale ko cabin noise se koi farak nahi parta hai since they want a basic car to get from point A to B. Glad to see the extent Luxury cars like RR goes to suppress cabin noise.

बड़े ब्रांड यू ही पैसा नही लेते है। ट्रेन के जनरल डिब्बे और एसी 1 में जाने पर जो आवाज मुक्त यात्रा रहती है, उसका बहुत अंतर पड़ता है जब आप मंजिल पर पहुंचते है। एक में लगभग तरोताजा और एक में लगता है फटेहाल आ गए। एक में पहुंचते ही काम पर लग सकते है तो दूसरे में पहुंच के एक दिन थकान उतारने में लग जाता है। और सबसे महत्वपूर्ण बात कि नई चीजों के लिए जो R&D खर्च होता है ,वो भी गाड़ियों की कीमत में बढ़ोतरी करता है जो सामान्यतया लोग नही जोड़ते है। भाई इतना फीचर,आराम, दमदार परफॉर्मेंस आदि आदि मिल रहा है तो उसका विकसित करने के लिए भी कुछ खर्च आया होगा, वो भी तो खरीदार ही से वसूल किया जाएगा ना।

Based on this, pls also suggest few measures that can be done aftermarket for reducing noise in cars. Few are possible like changing to softer tyres, door dampening etc. But few like plastic in interiors or damping around wheel arches can also be taken care of??

My Spresso cabin noise was 75 db at 80 kmph, without damping, original tyre, blower at speed 1.
After damping and changing the tyres it has come to 62 db.

Gagan sir. Agar mai sahi hu to apki avaj mai ye baat batado.
Hum jab car bike service krne jate hai tab apne gadi ke brake pad nikalke saf kiye jate hai. Thode ghise jate hai taki brake acchese lage. lekin jab wo pure kharab ho jate hai to service center wale replace krwate hai. But jab replace krte tab wo servicing cost k alawa labour charge lagate hai. Jab ki yaha unka kam bach jata hai plus unko pad sale krne ke upar kuch paise mil jate honge.
I think this is not right. Jab maine pehli bar notice kiya tha activa k service me to upar tk fight krke wo charges hatwa diye. Lekin ab Kushaq hai or labour cost bahut jyada hai. to please agar ye charges valid nhi hai to awaj uthate hai.
Please mention in engine mouse diesel n petrol engine too
