    Neon tetras like that tinted water, becauswe it contains humic acid that makes the water acidic which it thrives in.
    You should get more neon tetras (atleast 8+) as they are a schooling fish and would fit with your frogs since they are both from south america

  • @piv9976

    I would stuff the fabric with sphagnum moss and then add the brumeliads

  • @niklaseriksson3343

    You really should get some more neon tetras as they don't like to live alone. Also they are very pretty to look at. 🙂 Maybe add some other fish? Like some Otocinclus or maybe some smaller Corydoras? Shrimps are also very fun.
    Regarding the side walls, how about planting some Ficus pumila and letting it grow up the wall? They grow fast, look amazing and even can grow on glas, so they will have no problem sticking to the walls of the junglearium. 🙂

    You could go to your local hardware store to get plumber's epoxy. There are versions designed to plug leaks and cure when exposed to water. Mix up a batch and caulk the back top corner of your utility space wherever you see leaks. For extra piece of mind, you can then silicone over the putty. It comes in a 2-part putty.

    • @Lightman0359
      @Lightman0359 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also, between lizards, frogs and random wild spiders, having a colony of roaches in the Junglarium could create a mini ecosystem, with the enclosure itself producing feeders for your predators, and the predators breeding to keep up with the prey population.

    There is a method to make a nice moss wall. You chop the moss(maybe a blender can be used) add some nutritionus things like yogurt, beer etc. And add this mixture to walls by using a brush. After that, spray water daily (or if it is necessary)

    Tip for the leaning plant:
    If a plant doesn't have enough light then it gets tall with weak stems, prone to falling over. Check light distribution.

    • @shainpino4364
      @shainpino4364 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      also, a lot of taller plants are semi dependent on wind movement to help strengthen their stems.

  • @GrumpyGillsFishing
    @GrumpyGillsFishing 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    If you want your plants to develop stronger stems add a fan. Some kind of air movement will benefit the plants so much. I do not know how it would impact the humidity though.

    @6.44 there is some Oxalis stricta (wood sorrel, looks like clover) in my experience I would not this plant get out of hand, they are rather invasive. The seed pods explode and they can spread via their root systems so you will find them growing everywhere.

    I think I've got a game changing suggestion : What about planting the leaves that grow roots, directly on a substrate attached to the walls. I keep this kind of plants and their leaves can be planted directly in soil, they will survive and grow roots super quickly and even orientate to receive the best lighting. Imagine an entire wall with leaves coming from it as if it was a trunk from a giant tree !
    I think that could make this enclosure unique as probably no one has ever done that.
    Hope you'll see this.
    Keep the great work !
    Love from France🇫🇷

  • @akagainesy
    @akagainesy 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Plants are amazing. They can be so resilient and if you can find the right conditions they will really flourish. The roots have appeared on that lead that fell/broke off because a lot of tropical plants with produce air roots as well as wet roots underground. This is mainly due to the humidity in the air. You can plant an air root and it'll produce "normal" wet roots. So you could pot up that leaf and have a new plant in a few months 😉

    I'd love to see some mantids in the junglearium! Maybe not the big ones (Hierodula genus etc) as they might pose a risk to the frogs but some of the more delicate communal species would be great. They'd likely occupy the upper levels and pick off any flying insects. You could mount a dish of waxworms somewhere and just let them pupate naturally in to the moths. Everything is looking great though - loving all the updates. 👍🏻

  • @Heterogeneity
    @Heterogeneity 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The plant that spreads by tipping over might benefit from trimming back, especially around the plant it is smothering. Some creeper (lol) types need trimming to keep their node lengths short enough to look nice and prevent their leggy growth crowding out their less aggressive neighbors. It may also be reaching for light, long node intervals and floppy stems is often an indicator a plant needs more light. Could be it wants greater light duration or intensity?

    5:40 "vegetative propagation" or "adventitious rooting." In this process, a detached leaf or stem of a plant is capable of producing roots and eventually developing into a new plant. This method of reproduction allows some plants to propagate and establish new individuals without relying on seeds. It's a common mechanism in various plant species and is often utilized in horticulture for purposes such as cloning desirable plants or creating new individuals from existing ones.

    About the tetra it could be Dropsy/ascites for fishes have a few aquariums and know if i see it , they need more mates to be kept healthy swarmfishes are strong in numbers but always have fear without them, thats why they gets sick could be feeding etc too of course but without mates its not good. Its one of the most common sicknesses and tetras are pretty sensitive to water changes or bad water in general. If u want to get something for the water section would take plecos/catfish some of the smaller L types there a various types and colors and they are pretty resistant to not changing water that much. And some of them love blackwater i think not that sure. Even had tertas myself and the last ones looked the same like urs and they had Dropsy/ascites im sure. If she dies in the next while u know she had it or u could do salt baths or use a medicine for her/him in a seprate tank. Salt baths are better then medicine because they are more natural but u cant do it with any fish breed, had a few sick fishes die a day after i put it medicine in my tank and didnt over dose anything. Medicine would also kill the beneficial bacteria in ur water section.

      This is a cool idea, do keep in mind that their nymphs can be voracious tankmates and will eat anything they can catch best out of infinite attempts, plus they need live prey. I have seen at least one of them in my outdoor 50 gallon bucket pond this year and they're fierce ambush predators that will eat things up to three times their own size that get within range. The tadpole overpopulation in that pond cleared up (don't worry, these native frogs aren't endangered) and there's way fewer pond snails 😳

    Maybe you should remove them because it is possible they can be become dangerous for your dart frogs when the plant become bigger.
    Dart frogs are able to walk into a bromilia and also able to leave them. But dart frogs are from amerika and pitcher plants from asian. In asian are frogs who are able to leave the trap of this plants and use them for hiding. The problem is i´m not sure if your dart frogs got the same evolutionary adaptation like these frogs from asia.

    I'm worried if you ad new tree frogs they try to eat the small lizards or frogs.

    Great vid, but I am thinking if the coaches overtake the habitat it will be bad, and they seem very fast and many in numbers

    But the leak is still leaking, so it's causing a bigger problem in the long run. I think that's common sense. But it isn't my problem.

    That neon tetra is a fat egg filled female. They lay eggs instead of give birth. If she survives happily enough in that water to eat well and develope eggs then that water is ready for fish. Neons are fragile so if its ok then you should be fine

    Neon tetra indeed need at least 6 of them but the tank is too smal for them couse they love space

    Is the leak going to eventually cause damage to the foundation and possibly weaken it?
