Proverbs 31:9 encourages us to speak up against the evil of injustice: “Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy

Everything is spot on. Nothing really new under the sun. Dr. Kruger, like all the others approaching you, you are describing the lone Filipino pastor in our Denomination.

48 At the centre of abusive pastors is the fear of losing their ministry ( Narcissistic). Yes this Filipino Pastor cannot handle criticism, constructive criticism by my father that's why my dad died without "church membership". He, they got this all wrong. Not all of Israel is of Israel . I believe an holy Catholic church. Thanks Dr. Kruger. Thank u Lord.

This reminds me of Matthew 24 and the parable of the servant who believes his master isn’t coming back anytime soon, so he beats his fellow servants and gets drunk with the drunkards. The master comes back unexpectedly and cuts the servant in half… it’s not a good way to end up.

37 min Shepherding over fault finding. He sees everybody's problems (mostly imaginative) EXCEPT his own sins.

I have no problem recognizing spiritual abuse. I want to know what we do to change it? I work at a highly abusive church. But if I speak against it, I will likely lose my job. What do I do?

So you want to keep your job at a highly abusive church ? Pray about that one sweets. God actually calls putting anything above him, IDOLATRY. If God is not there then LOOK for a new one .. otherwise the blood is on your hands
      Ezekiel 3:18-19
"When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand"

Discern what the abuse is and find scripture to back it up. Then pray about it and then see if God wants you to say something. But you have to know as a bystander to abuse, that shows your lack of integrity if you will work at a highly abusive place for money anyway. Bro

Pray about what God would have you do, in accordance to the word. If Jesus was in your position, or in your church, would he stay silent? See revelation chapters 2 and 3.
Secondly, speak to others who you know who you think could be also subject yo the abuse. Get fellowship and wisdom together about a way forward.
Thirdly, be discrete. Its one thing to recognise it. But who to share, how to approach the abuser, when to etc is gong to take a lot of care.
Fourth, trust God. He is faithful and as you put your trust in Him he will sustain you in the walk forward.
Fifth, keep researching this field of church issue. Read books, get others' wisdom, how they dealt with it, contact this man Kruger if you think it would help.

55 minutes Relational Manipulation. The reason Abusive Pastors can survive as long as they do cause they have two forms of manipulation. They protect YES Men inside the church. Men who will not disagree with them.

Calling yourself "Pastor" is spiritual abuse of the "one anothers" because it elevates one person above the rest of the congregation, undermining the mutual care, love, and service that Scripture commands. The New Testament emphasizes equality and reciprocal relationships among believers, with instructions like "love one another" and "serve one another." By assuming a title that implies authority and hierarchy, creates a barrier to the kind of humble, shared ministry that the Bible encourages, turning the focus from community to control.

Calling yourself "Pastor" violates Jesus' command in Matthew 23:8-12, where He warns against titles that elevate one person above others, saying, "You are all brothers." Jesus emphasizes humility and servant leadership, instructing His followers not to seek positions of authority or status. The "Pastor" system, which often places one individual in a position of control and honor, contradicts this command by fostering hierarchy rather than equality. As long as the system prioritizes titles and authority over mutual service, it is doomed to fail in embodying the humility and brotherhood that Jesus calls for.
Calling yourself "Doctor" in a ministry context can be another way to elevate yourself over the brethren, similar to the title "Pastor." Jesus teaches against seeking titles that set one person above others (Matthew 23:8-12), emphasizing humility and equality among His followers. Using titles like "Doctor" can create unnecessary distinctions and hierarchies within the body of Christ, contradicting the call to be servants and equals. True Christian leadership is about serving others, not claiming titles that may foster pride or superiority.
