The Super League needs to get their broadcast situation right. If the league's matches are not accessible, it is going to be a problem. I can't wait for the league to start but I also want to watch from the start.

It would be nice to watch but this was the same situation when USL started in general and they're just now getting a CBS deal and only had ESPN+ for a few years.

Why can’t the NWSL and USL Womens league combine and make one league called PWSL: Professional Women’s Soccer League. That way we’ll have more teams and players to root for. You girls r awesome. Keep up the good work. I like how you girls show NWSL highlights, since ESPN won’t do it unless Patrick Mahomes is in the audience.

I totally agree. I think one great league is better than two Waterdown leagues or a new league thats gonna fail in three years and give people more reason to say that women can’t drive revenue in sports which we all know is not true.

Agree split into divisions to save players and keep number of games limited. Then an end of season massive play off west v East or however they split the divisions.

I agree you can put teams all over the country. Get it into more homes maybe get a bigger TV deal. And share the money amongst teams to keep everybody going until it could be self sustainable. I think that would be better than having a bunch of leagues scattered all over the country, confusing people like me lol.

Well, first of all, the USL Super League wants to have a club in Tennessee, Wisconsin, and Arkansas for example. But the NWSL said they would never have expansion clubs in those states. So there would be a disagreement there.

@@SportsLuvr I wonder if the new league will bring a team in Boston I know NWSL is bringing a team here in 2026

Full disclosure: I'm a Detroit City supporter. My club competes in the USL Championship and the USL W-League.
To me, the Super League always felt slightly underbaked. City has been up close and personal with dysfunctional, largely aspirational leagues before. It's truly one of those "It sounds crazy, but *it might just work*" situations - imagine a women's selling league, meaning a league devoted to showcasing and moving on talent to the world market as a part of its business model. It's unprecedented in women's football, to my knowledge, but relatively old hat in the men's game - many clubs outside the wealthiest nations are organized around marketing players overseas.
At some level it comes back to me thinking they would've been better off sticking with their established 2nd division sanction, rather than inviting Soccer Warz nonsense into the women's game by going 1st division and inviting conflict with NWSL. As a longtime lover of the game, and a person who has always lived in America, I have seen nothing but destruction and blight from these conflicts. Where they make a desert, they call it peace.

I was just thinking about how US football needed an FA to take charge and introduce promotion and relegation, then the topic was raised. Surely it needs FIFA to tell US to get their act together if they want major international tournaments, rather than "Let us see what happens". Profits from NWSL need to be put back into growing the game. The idea of college draft picks needs to go in the trash and those players need to be in professional clubs, not just veterans. The US national team will be the one that suffers. Just look at UEFA U17 women's championship. Spain and England have teenagers ready to go straight to clubs.

Being new as a soccer fan. I don’t understand how you can have two pro women’s leagues going wouldn’t it have been better if they combined and made one big league. If you wanna grow women’s sports, I don’t think creating more leagues is the best avenue. I just don’t get it. I hope it works.

The reason this league is great because it gives players and markets somewhere to go. The economics of the NWSL is getting out of reach for some markets and a lot of players are left out or going overseas. So, the USL Super League is a good thing.

Because America is as big as Europe & Europe has at least 5 different D1 women's leagues. So we can easily have 2 top women's leagues here & the competition should make both of them better

But don’t you think it could dilute it if they competing leagues?.. I want women’s soccer to succeed, but until you can get revenue from people going to matches consistently, I just fear this new league is short-lived. Though I will say it would be good for the players because they would be more competition for the services in this country.

@@womsocfan2482 don’t you fear maybe that it would be an oversaturation of leagues in this country could the new league be competitive? I’m new to the soccer/football landscape. I’m trying to figure things out as I go here. Lol I just want the leagues to succeed.
