I am continually so impressed by how kind and down-to-earth the great majority of these staff members are! I feel that added a lot to making the show so wonderful -- its beating heart.
I wonder how long it took to complete this video, with so many locations to shoot introductions at. The “Eagles” segment is what I remember Nancy from most. She seemed genuinely distressed when Dave wanted to actually go through with it and have Paul and the Band play an Eagles song
We have it on good authority the film crew, and Nancy herself were being pursued by bandits. The dedication of continuing to film the segment under such duress is commendable.
Such great stories! Everyone sharing these candid moments is great fun. It really helps us appreciate the work you all did, to bring these memorable shows into our lives. We're so lucky to have a platform like this to enjoy these memories!
This is delightful, for all sorts of reasons. The overarching theme seems to be that Nancy is a saboteur with the skill level of an international standard. Also, the look on Dave’s face when Tom Hanks kisses Nancy is priceless. Finally, it seems that this video package is proof there is a method to make family vacations tax deductible.
Letterman chose his writers well. I spoke with Letterman one time on his radio show in Indianapolis. I did talk to his agent about insuring his vehicle. I wrote it for a brief period of time with Lloyds of London. I also met Lou Rawls in an elevator. I think we were attending the same event in Buffalo, but I can't be sure. I have short term dementia, but my long term memory is slightly better. False memories are common, so I hope I'm not embarrassing myself. I also met the drummer Buddy Rich at night looking in the window of a closed store in Indianapolis. We spoke for a brief moment. I mentioned seeing him on Johnny Carson, then I went on my way. Weird how long term memories stays with you a little longer, while short term memory loss occurs much sooner.
I wasn't really paying attention to much to the backgrounds and then I started noticing that she was somewhere different for each breakdown. My favorite was the bridge in Italy. I assume it was Italy.
As soon as I saw her at the beginning of the clip, i was hoping she'd mention the Eagles thing. That was an enlightening video about how greedy artists/labels can be. $250,000 to play a song on TV when Letterman was promoting the fact they were playing at Madison Square Garden (he found out pre-show a couple in the audience were going). If you haven't seen this video, search for "letterman Eagles". It has a very satisfying ending.
My two faves: the DESONEX CHALLENGE... "The left side is tingling!!!" and when Chris Elliot tested different oils for their saturated fat content!! I seriously peed myself. Think i was 14 at the time. Thank you for this
Durng the attempted coup in Moscow in August '91, I got to ride on a Soviet tank! (This was while Yeltsin was holed up in the Paliament Building ("the Russian White House") I covered the stoy for the Cincinnati newpaper, got some good photos!
Do you realize the reason the show was awesome was because of brilliant women behind the scenes and I apologize because all I saw was the goofy men so thank you women 😊
Oh my God! He gave her a kiss without consent! Like Mindy Kaling did! I'm sure the same people pretending to be outraged about that will be complaining loudly here as well!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
This shoot went wildly over budget. Our "Apocalypse Now."
The Horror!
“Lost in La Mancha, Part 2.” I’d watch it.
Hollywood, Trevi Fountain (Rome), The Bahamas?, maybe - Napa Valley, San Francisco, etc.
😂
That money saved from not playing The Eagles paid off.
I am impressed that so many staff members worked for the show for such a long time.
Dave went far above and beyond to take care of his people
It’s one of those things that is very noteworthy, and we talk about it on our show often.
Howard Stern's staff has been with him from 20 to 40 years.
@@brucelee4996 How many staff does Stern have? Is his company fairly robust with staff like Pants was?
She keeps popping up in different locations haha love it
I am continually so impressed by how kind and down-to-earth the great majority of these staff members are! I feel that added a lot to making the show so wonderful -- its beating heart.
For Nancy to begin as an intern and to transition to a Co-Executive Producer, is very impressive.
For the network at that! From Dave to the big room.
She also married well.
The Lou Rawls bit never gets old.
Never. And the fact the reference lives on in Nancy’s family is FANtastic!
Today's late night shows don't compare to the MASTER. TY Dave.
👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Also the eagles music. Good to hear it from her perspective. And she’s in different location every time 😂
That was one of the funniest shows they ever did.
Love me some Biff - it's great that those soldiers all thanked him for his service in Vietnam.
I wonder how long it took to complete this video, with so many locations to shoot introductions at. The “Eagles” segment is what I remember Nancy from most. She seemed genuinely distressed when Dave wanted to actually go through with it and have Paul and the Band play an Eagles song
the full Eagles music piece is up on this channel and it's hilarious. I'd love to find a full version of "Supercharger"
We have it on good authority the film crew, and Nancy herself were being pursued by bandits. The dedication of continuing to film the segment under such duress is commendable.
"Every time I try to walk away..."
$250k!! By far my favorite Eagles song
I've always known Dave was great, but, man, the staff sure was too! I love these retrospectives and don't want to see them end!
May I point out that Ms. Agostini appears to be transporting to different beautiful location across the globe to do this bit. Impressive, Nancy!
I saw that bridge in Florence, the Spanish Steps in Rome, the Hollywood sign, the Golden Gate bridge and some kind of desert - well done Nancy!
Venezia.
That Eagles bit is one of my favorites to revisit on TH-cam. Makes me laugh everytime.
100%. Whenever they went down a rabbit hole on the show like that it was beyond special.
Some affiliate links to the destinations would have been even more hilarious...anyways...thanks Nancy, for sharing your favorite moments with us.

We could not agree more. When we have these folks on our show, the deep dives usually lead to stories that are as funny as the show itself.
Many thanks, that was a great one.
These are fun.
And the production of the interviews are pretty great too....nice scenery. Hope it paid as well as those remotes back in NYC
Being on the run never pays. Those poor people. So dedicated in competing the compilation.
@@thelettermanpodcast ha!
LOVE LOVE LOVE! Beautiful testament to Nancy’s invaluable contributions to the show - personally and professionally. Gem of gems. NANNY! ❤
This has been the best Staff Favorite Moments video so far. So funny.
I love that all the staff love the Lou Rawls bit
I really like how each clip introduction was at a different location. Nancy's idea perhaps?
Thanks Nancy - loved this!
These were some good moments indeed. Thank you Nancy!
Agreed!
The Brownie gag gets it.
She did this whole series of interview touring around Italy and it’s hilarious
Some 'Favorite Moments' are slightly better than others. This one was more than slightly.
And as an added bonus...a visual travelogue.
Would you go so far as to say ‘significantly?’
@@thelettermanpodcast I would have, had I possessed the ability to spell significantly.
Wait, what?
That was just the nicest video on the channel. Nancy is cool.
I love these behind the scenes videos 😊

Thanks for sharing Bill, that was touching. All the best.
so good!
It really speak well of Letterman for his staff to stay so loyal and work for him so long
The Eagles Music Episode was one of the best bits in the LS.
For those who didn't catch it, they're playing a KISS song when Dave's tongue is black
Good touch!
@13:24 *"We realized the apartments I could afford could not be shown on TV"* ! Funny how that's too real for TV
Best show ever!
The charcoal incident!!!!
We secretly hoped it was an intentional prank by Nancy and her crew. In fact we still hope that is the case.
Great ones! We'd take a part deux!
Take a bow Nancy.
love dave
Fantastic!
Great interview! Are these false backgrounds to the interviews - Venice , Trevi Fountains in Rome etc?
Amazing. Dave.
wow, i never noticed how beautiful Tom Hank's eyes are . @4:39
💚💚💚💚
Omg I forgot about the Lou Rawls bit. Genius.
The Lou Rawls bit kills me every time.
I somehow feel like I don't get David Letterman's humor and I perfectly get David Letterman's humor, all at the same time.
I wasn't really paying attention to much to the backgrounds and then I started noticing that she was somewhere different for each breakdown. My favorite was the bridge in Italy. I assume it was Italy.
Good one!
For a moment it looked like Dave was auditioning for Kiss.
What a sweet sweet lady
Cute cute cute…
I loved the Eagles bit when it aired
So 😁 😂 😀
Thisjust proves why Dave was & is the best.

Please bring back Meg Parsont for her favorite moments!
ha ha...I love how they had to globetrot all over the world in order to interview her.
My two faves: the DESONEX CHALLENGE... "The left side is tingling!!!"
and when Chris Elliot tested different oils for their saturated fat content!! I seriously peed myself. Think i was 14 at the time. Thank you for this
Nice “Die Antwoordt” reference by Dave.
Was it a conscious production choice to have Nancy to do every memory in a different location and different outfit?
😂It's fantastic! I don't know how far in before I was thinking about it each time!
Our theory is it was something to do with being on the run from bandits.
@@thelettermanpodcast Maybe if she didn't, someone would have pelted her with rocks and garbage.
How many pairs of glasses does Paul Schaefer have?
Dave is just the best.
You guys don’t understand what you meant to 13 years old who stayed up late and I mean late to watch 😊
I love Dave especially when Johnny Depp was a guest..
Randomly in Venice
Back when late night was good
She's very pretty.

I've always wondered if that couple actually went to see the Eagles after that segment ...
I love these…could you post more but with less Letterman?
JK!
Oh my God! He gave her a kiss without consent! Like Mindy Kaling did! I'm sure the same people pretending to be outraged about that will be complaining loudly here as well!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
You kind of wonder how she kept her job.
whats up with all the changing of scenering? is she Carmen Sandiego?
Do Nancy and Barbara make some money if I comment?
Lucky gal: kissed by Tom Hanks and saw Jimmy Smits nekkid. Then she got to live in Venice...
Damn I don't remember Dave shouting out Die Antwoord
Nancy Agostini or Carmen Sandiego
OHHHHH! NOT what he had in mind!
I had 3 clips of 8mm video with an Eagles song in it...YT gave me a copyright strike for it !
I strongly dislike the Eagles....
@@taxesdeathandtrouble.1886 Not quite--it depends on the year, but at some point (up until now) it's 70 years AFTER the death of the author.
Nancy's adorable.
