I'm glad that I made the effort to catch this act. It would have been around the time of this clip, maybe a few years earlier. This song was the highlight of a very high standard of performance by the boys, firstly because this song had completely slipped my mind for decades, and secondly because this chap WAS John Lennon to the Nth degree as he sang it. Bootleg Beatles are the best tribute of any band on the planet...✌

Onya, Adam. Have met him a few times, most memorably last year at Newcastle (NSW, Australia) in September (2016). Always impressed with him (and he has the Lennon humour well sussed). Made sure the girl I took had a photo taken with him, too. She LOVED the show.
Only one thing gave this away. The Beatles never made a record with the focus on only one band member, not ever, I will admit that for a few seconds I was fooled into thinking this was really Lennon doing this. Great job! I have seen many tribute bands of The Beatles. These are the best.

For a minute when I started watching this, I thought that was John Lennon. But kind of a giveaway is that there wasn’t an undercurrent of screaming, especially screaming girls, which was always prevalent in the real Beatles live concerts, even on a slow song like “you’ve got to hide, your love away.” to me, the physical appearance of the man singing is a cross between John Lennon and Paul McCartney. I would like to have seen this tribute band in person. The black and white photography was great, looks like something out of the mid 1960s . Second giveaway was that near the end of the song, the trumpet player, and the others shown were not the real Beatles!They sound really good, at least on this song. This is being written in late May 2024.
This guy is amazing. He sounds so much like Lennon and have watched him with BOOTLEG BEATLES. But I must say if you want to see the most accurate looking Lennon. Look up Gary Gibson. He is like a clone of John Lennon. It's so spooky.
