Wow. Just found this today. One of my favorite "early Beatles" songs, done by one of my favorite artists. With his powerful, emotional vocals, he takes a great song by another great artist, and makes it his own.
Oh my gosh, I was not expecting for Jackson to do such a stellar job at this song...WOW just excellent. As simple as this song is - its an extremely hard song to nail the way Jackson did. Love it
Jackson Browne has been a John Lennon fan since listening to a New Jersey radio broadcast and and hearing John appreciating his song called "Song for Adam" and telling the DJ how he wish he could write a song like that.
John Lennon wrote some brilliant songs with great melodies and meaningful lyrics. Nice to hear the great Jackson Browne singing this. Baby's in black would be a great cover.
Do a double album- one of Jackson doing covers, one with different (hopefully newer) artists covering his songs. Proceeds to MusiCares or some other worthwhile organization that benefits musicians.
This is an excellent rendition of John Lennon’s (Beatles) 1965 “You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away.” Jackson Browne is a great artist/songwriter in his own right.
Jackson Browne, to you my man. In memory of John Lennon - what can we say except we no longer need to hide our love away…we celebrate his life & music.
Gotta say I’ve never been exposed to jackson browne too much in the UK. I’m on a flight for 8 hours next to a girl from minnesota or mineappolis on a flight from chicago to copenhagen and her music taste was great. Her favourite artist was jackson browne and since then I’m noticed the occasional song by him, shazam it and realise its him. Really good artist. At glastonbury this year the other stage kept playing “in the shape of her heart” for a soundcheck in the mornings
When i moved back to my hometown of Vancouver,B.C. in 1979,they had a long weekend of bands at the Empire Staduim. It was packed and the great bands were Jackson Browne, Tom Petty etc.❤ RIP.❤
Technically strong. There might have been a missing element of emotion/pain that Lennon sang with, but that’s just me as this is an all time favourite track.
I don't think anyone should mess with this song. Except bears. Bears will kill you.. (Oops, sorry). Except Jackson Browne. Great job, one more time. I would have enjoyed a 12 string in there. But, no matter. Still good. He could probably sing almost anything, and sound good. His voice is very-distinctive. And, he never seems to miss a single note. That's why they pay him the big bucks. 😂 Seriously, he's that good a singer. And, something about his music and the way he presents it, has me thinking we're on equal levels. Almost as if he had a barn and, he asked me if I help him paint it. In other words a common working glass guy, just happened to be a great musician. I don't have anything in the way of proof to back that up. It's just something that I think could be true. While he can belt out the rock with the best of them, he's also totally at home with just only his acoustic guitar, and his voice. His unplugged version of These Days is a good example. Im going to tie-in an example of someone else who seems to be in the same category, as a comparison. There's a James Taylor video, in which he describes himself as being in self-destructive situations, with the songs he writes describing a daring daylight escape. It just so happened that had a knack for telling those musical stories in a way that his fans found appealing. I'm saying, I get a similar impression about Jackson Browne.
I hate the word cover there's an element of disparagement to it. You don't have this expression in other forms of music like - The London Philharmonic just covered Beethoven's 5th. This guy did the arrangement justice.

Jackson stop playing your bumble gum stuff. And concentrate on more normal songs like this and not just johnny Lennon. You really have a great sound just get someone to pick the right songs for you to play.
Aw gee. That's too bad Jackson. You have to hide your love away. Aww.poor Jackson. And stand up in front of people to tell them. Aww that's too bad.Poor Jackson. hope you feel better soon. Everyone there pays you to moan and make instrument noises about stuff and how you have to hide your love away. Gee that's really sad.
A great Lennon song, brilliantly covered 👏
One of my favourite Beatles songs covered by one of my favourite musicians
Jackson Browne and John Lennon share October 9th birthdays, Lennon 1940 and Jackson 1948. (And Me 1950 ☺)
Me too 64

Such a gifted man😘
Nothing is too difficult if you are jackson browne except maybe rap like eminem 😊
Agree! Wasn't sure what to expect but was exceedingly pleased.
There’s not a lot that he doesn’t do well.
He's got a great voice for this tune. Not too high, strong. It's a mellow tune and is meant to be played that way. Great version.
As perfectly covered as can be...
Much love to John Lennon and Jackson Browne. Very well done Jackson!
Damn Jackson sings this beautifully . Love him so much
The undersinging just makes it heartbreaking.... 🕯

Jackson the poet honoring another great poet .

Great job, Mr. Jackson Brownie you did not disappoint doing this song👍👍👍👍👍
Jackson should do an album of covers, he ALWAYS does them justice and makes them his own like NO ONE else.
Do a double album- one of Jackson doing covers, one with different (hopefully newer) artists covering his songs. Proceeds to MusiCares or some other worthwhile organization that benefits musicians.
He does not cover but really embodies the song...
@@jamesh4357Have you heard the JB covers album? Check out Bob Schneider’s version of Running on Empty. Then check out Bob’s album “Lonelyland”
Great value for your time
That song always kills me. Still crushing on John at 7O

Jackson, One of the best for eons.
Perfect.
Fantastic.
All those decades ago. Lennon on his sunken bed. The perfect flute solo is the climax Paul said it was John doing Dylan. Yep. I heard it
JB singing the Beatles. My dream performers. I am sorry for the reason.❤️😢

I had no idea that the UK were so parochial in their musical exposure... Kind of sad...
John’s inspiration for writing this song was Bob Dylan. Jackson covers it very well.
and Bob Dylan's inspiration was?
@@tonyedwards4067Woody Guthrie
Just good music from this great artist...borrowed from the boys from england
Man- Jackson nailed the vocal.
totally cool song.
Gotta love this guy
Brilliant song!!!

Three master storytellers portraying the one magical song .... How can you be angry ?
Yet another John Lennon masterpiece!
VERY VERY GOOD
Bravo
Simply Outstanding
Amazing !
Love it 🥰
Love this.
from the "Help" album, John mentions again the loser he feels he is in this world. Jackson is here giving a strong hand
love this, great job
I almost went to this Concert... Nice
RIP John Lennon 🌹🕊️
Technically strong. There might have been a missing element of emotion/pain that Lennon sang with, but that’s just me as this is an all time favourite track.
He wrote “These days” when he was 16 yrs old. Wow. He is the best.
dam nice
Great rendition. Always good to hear a real pro perform. This is a brief respite from today's relentless mediocrity.
Awesome version! Love it!! Jackson Browne and band sound fantastic on this Fab classic. That's the drummer from the Fab Faux, correct?
Not a Jackson Browne fan (too mellow), but he did do a nice job on this song.
this lads not too bad actually he is very good!
I don't think anyone should mess with this song.

👍🏻 dude
A proper HEY! Lads.
Beste Version ❤
As Jackson sings this song with the picture of John and Yoko, isn't this song about Cynthia?
Great song from another band with the name of that song it’s on tip of my tongue 0:23

Hee, here.
Amy Montouri...No..This song was ,,,me thinks, about Brian Epstein..
It's about masturbation shame.
That song is a lot better than anything that guy has ever written. A lot better.

Yes... An Amazing rendition of this song with a very controversial subject matter back in the 60's ...
About George Martin?
Brian Epstein
About Brian Epstien"s anxiety about his homosexuality.
Is that an lg2?
John Lennon I shouldn’t know that 1:10
Such a great song very well copied by Jackson
Geile Simme!!
Ouch
Funk me. There is only one John Lennon
didn't know Alec Baldwin played bass 😂😂😂......
הוא שר את זה כמעט כמו ג'ון, אותה הגשה, לא הוסיף לשיר דבר.
only makes me miss dennis wilson even more.
