we actually started knitting for very similar reasons! i started knitting sometime in 2020 when my universities online classes made me really restless so i was looking for something to do with my hands and picked up knitting!
aww it was so fun and refreshing to watch a video of a new knitter with a lot of things you didn't end up wearing; i love to knit but i'm also newer to garment knitting and pretty particular in my style so this was SOO relatable
so lovely to see your journey! I finally finished my first ever knit- made sunset sweater after watching your video! thanks for the ongoing inspiration xx
With the knits you don't like donate them to a shelter for homeless, they are always happy for warm clothes. Well done on beautiful clothing. Love the red one ❤
this is so so lovely and so awesome to see all that you've made this year!! im getting more into knitting after being a *very* casual knitter for some time, do you have any other knitting youtubers you recommend??
everything you knit is so so pretty!!! I adore that red sweater 🤩 & honestly, the colours that you said wasn't really your style really complements the colours of your eyes 🫶🏻
Perhaps a controversial opinion for the DK black sweater: I personally would try to lean into the grunge unfinished look for it, and drop/ladder a few sections all over to give it that intentionally messy look. (example is like Darlingaga Streetwear Hole Black Knitted) It would mean tinkering back and messing around a lot with a crochet hook, but if you have no desire to ever wear it, or repurpose the yarn, i think that could make a super fun experiment and the market for that if you did then donate it is bigger :D
This is such a good idea! Laddering down some stitches would create more positive ease, too, which would help with the tight sleeves issue. You might be a genius!
So great to see your progress!! I have finished my first year of crochet and knitting as well it's so interesting to look back on the year ❤ My favourite project this year was an intarsia tapestry crochet winter scene jumper, was very popular over Christmas
Great place to buy yarn oblige is hobbi, it's from Denmark but they use royal mail, and only charge £2.99 post or free if you spend over a certain amount. X
Red sweater is gorgeous ❤ I have 6 sweaters done and my favorite was Cardi V-neck by Anne Ventzel in pink, definitely a labor of love, it's a huge squishy sweater with a honecomb cable for every 4 row across all the stitches on the needles🙈 body was addictive, sleeves I was powering through Now I'm working on my red cardigan, it meant to be worn on Christmas eve😅 new goal is to get it done for a new year's party😃
1. I suggest putting a little X of contrast yarn in the back of your knits instead of a tag so you can tell which side is the back. This has been a game changer for me 😂 2. Your wool and the gang sweater is probably itchy on your elbows because elbows tend to be the driest skin on arms (even if they don’t feel dry) which is sensitizing. Wonder if a dab of lotion would make the itch go away when you wear it with a tee shirt?
Hey! Would you have a list of the yarn shops in Glasgow ( or Glasgow area) you liked can't seem to find any where there's some nice yarn.... Also instead of a tag I just use a tiny piece of embroidery thread (or any small thread) in a constrasting color that I saw on to mark the back Ps (your videos are amazingxxxx)
thank you, and thanks for the idea! yes, the yarn cake in partick is great and has a really nice selection of yarn, and John Lewis’ haberdashery section is really big!x

She also inspired me to do the same! I want to try the colour rain sweater in a sunset gradient if I can work out the best two colours to use 😊

thank you so glad you enjoyed!! yess i do, my favourite knitting youtubers are woozy by celine, ne knits, and amazingishgrace ✨
With the black jumper I'd suggest adding some elastic to the neckline to pull it in a bit. It may help tighten it up a bit

that’s a brilliant idea with the yarn thank you! definitely gonna do that. and I’ll try out your lotion tip too thanks!!🥰
beautiful!
I love seeing your progress. BTW, sometimes, baby yarn just means it's DK weight or lighter.
ohhh nothing to do with babies!! would never have known thank you ✨
