Best video I have found on Delos, and I have been searching for some time. Excellent work! For some reason even professional archeologists have not really produced anything with this detail and thought. Thank you for putting this together!

Thank you for sharing this step back into history. Your knowledge of Delos’s story over time enriches the artifacts that have remained. Such a meaningful story that you brought to life, Taylor. My compliments on your thoughtful portrayal of this wondrous place.

This project was a labor of love and a challenge. I’m not a historian, but wanted to give the people that lost so much a voice so their story is heard.💛

Well, two things. Delos did not suffer in conflict more then it enjoyed peace (2:50). Delos enjoyed long periods of peace that were interrupted by invasion many times. But on at least one occasion- the first invasion of Greece by the Persians- the Persians treated the island with great respect, hoping to gain favor with the Greeks on the mainland. A bigger mistake is your representation that Apollo and Artemis were born on top of the mountain (5:04). No, that's not the legend. Zeus had gotten a sea-nymph pregnant, and the goddess of the home and hearth was Hera, who, as always, was angry at her husband, this time because her husband had gotten another "woman" pregnant, so she refused to aid with the childbirth. As a sea nymph, the nymph had to give birth in water; so at Zeus' request, Poseidon created a pool of water on the island for her to birth the two divinities. You can kind of visit the pool, at least the site of the pool, but authorities have drained the water to keep the mosquitoes under control. There is at least a palm tree and a low stone wall to mark the site. The mountain is only related to the story in that Zeus was supposed to have sat there during the labor, keeping watch. The mountain looks to me like it would have been a very fitting throne for the god to look down at what was happening.
