Pete, this is very informative, great video, showing step by step how to remove the seat, even without the power. Thank you for sharing this with W140 lovers
Thanks for the wire reference at time index 6:30 showing how to "jump start" the power seat. The r129 seats have a manual override for the forward/back seat movement in the form of a roller you can turn by hand to move the seat. Seems odd there isn't something similar on the w140.
Pete, which colored wires will move the backrest part of the seat, when hot wired directly with the battery? I purchased a seat, which is in lay down position 180 degrees and need to bring the backrest to a normal sitting position. which would be 90 degrees.
Your experience getting to more advanced levels why don’t you use it and open ur shop to public we really have very few shops that work on those cars here in Florida But I still do enjoy and appreciate your videos and you trying to share this knowledge
Hi man. I've got an s280 w140 with manual seats. Due to a health issue i want to swap the drivers seat into full electric to have more options to adjust it to be more comfortable. Have you ever done it? Is it possible? Thanks in advance.
I’ve got to be honest the lowest spec car we got in the US was the S320 and they all came with power seats. From what I’ve seen on the W140 chassis almost all options are wired into the car, but without seeing one of those I wouldn’t be able to tell.
Take off the back section of seat. There are two screws on the very bottom of the back side of seat where the pocket is. Take out two screws and pull up and out. You can then access the inside of the back of seat and the headrest poles.

Mate thanks so much for taking the time to show us this. I have the phone in the car with me doing this as I type this.
For the pipe if you dont have the tool you can use needles, or radio removal tool as well. Thats what I did
Finally a video 💯
