  • Take a look at this Betfair trading strategy as I share 3 trading examples with simple explanations that beginners can understand. For more advanced help see the other links in the description below.
    Betfair trading is the practice of placing two bets against each other, on the same selection, in order to make a profit when an advantage presents itself. It's NOT taking excessive risk or guesswork as you will see with the Betfair trading strategies shared. You need an edge.

    If you are learning about Betfair trading then it's important to understand the basics first. This beginner's strategy uses the Geeks Toy trading software for Betfair. There are other versions available although it's important to understand that the traditional website's data is delayed. By using Betfair trading software we have a time and informational advantage that is crucial to all successful Betfair trading strategies. Trading horse racing is most popular because there is multiple races each day and the prices in sports betting markets are more subjective than in other sports.
    This video is for informational purposes only. Always take great care with your trading decisions.

    Loved this Caan - thank you, so helpful. I would love to see more of these with you giving your voice-over of your thought process. In fact, you say a lot if not most of the work is done in your pre-race analysis so it would be great to have even more comments at the stage when you're reviewing the pre-race information as to what's standing out to you, where you think opportunities might arise etc. You said on the 2nd race that you wouldn't go into the same "spiel" as for the first - not spiel, really useful to beginners! :-)

    Love these videos Caan..As I've said before though you're an expert at this and it's not as easy as this video makes it look..its like watching Ronaldo doing multiple stepovers and explaining how to do them,then you go out into the garden and stand on the ball and fall on your arse 🙈😂
    I bought your video pack which is brilliant,but my discipline was terrible,I could read the markets quite well but failing to trade out for a loss was my downfall and there's 100s of would be traders out there like me
    I think viewers would rather see 3 videos with losing trades where you explain what went wrong
    Keep the content coming though 👍

      Fair comments Dave, discipline is the killer for so many. I mention it in the video but so many feel the need to be doing something and to be 'active' in the market. I think many are suprised how late the money making bit is when they truly realise. It's not like a normal job where you have to do stuff for a time period and then get paid an hourly rate! We're conditioned to think like this as we grow up though. Anyway, I wont bore you with a load of psychological stuff haha.

    Hello caan. Please help me with some pro info.
    1. The back odds or the average between back and lay from betfair are the closest odds for making of idea of what fair odds will be?
    2. After finding fair odds how shall we find value? I know that we must find odds higher than true odds...but not all odds offers value. Odds like pinnacle might lead to make mistakes...and odds like unibet rarely offers value. Or low one. Please give me some tips.

      If you right-click on the ladder interface, you need to select the traded volumes as bars. Then, about two thirds of the way down you will see there is an option to set the time limit for the bars. By default I think its a minute or something (mine is set to 40 seconds). If the option for bars isn't there, you're on a very old version of the software and would download the most recent release, its been available for a couple years or so.

    Caan? in the first video why back the second favourite approaching a cross over point of 4.0 (where it can potentially meet natural support from layers) instead of laying the favourite that's on a strong drift that's further away from a cross over point where there isn't in theory... a strong key level of natural resistance untill 6.0? there also seemed to be multiple horses coming in at the start of the video also? is this an inverse view to how your seeing the market and simply taking the other side i.e laying a drifter instead backing a steamer etc? or a case of me looking at the marketing incorrectly?

  • @waynecosgrove4785
    @waynecosgrove4785 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    so for every lay bet you put on you have to put on a back bet and vise verser and the marginge in between the two is your proffit is that right or am i missing something as i see you put on a lot of back bets but not many lay bets

    • @gloriakalengelayi8294
      @gloriakalengelayi8294 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. If you back first then you need the lay odds to be smaller than your back odds to lock in profit( remember to factor in commission). If you lay first you need the back odds to be bigger. But you will have to know the correct stake to actually lock in profit. There are free calculators out there but that takes too long considering how quick odds and liquidity change. I don’t know if this software can automatically do the calculations for you to save time.

    A few days ago I had a £10 matched bet on a race and the odds changed so much before the race that it was offering -£3.00 cashout. Then by the time the race started it was back as it was. I'm hopeless at calculating things that fast and as I had a matched bet on I didn't want to mess it up but I wondered what could have been made if I could have seen that happening and managed to back and lay that horse the right times, I haven't seen a swing of that much before (wish I screenshotted the odds) even on a £20 bet. Does that sound like the kind of movement you look for?
    Jeez, as I was typing this I suddenly remembered I had footie trades on, switched to them and both games had goals, so I was risking my cashout money! Been burned too many times giving it a couple of minutes after a goal before cashing out so I like to do it as soon as the odds begin to even out.

    • @CaanBerryProTrader
      @CaanBerryProTrader  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not too sure what you're asking there? You can cash out on the site yes, its less efficient as they take a price instead of offering one to the market but you can trade out that way. I wouldn't advise it because website data is delayed and you dont have the tools you need to make educated trading decisions but its the same thing in principle. Is that what you meant? Having a Betfair trading strategy that is based on an edge is the only way to do this effectively.

    • @nobbycheeseman2915

      @@CaanBerryProTrader Sorry for not being clear. I'm rubbish at explaining anything in text which is why I don't usually comment.
      I suppose what I'm asking is, do you try to spot a race where the odds on a horse are going to swing massively like they did in the race I had a matched bet on (a swing of around 1.5 down and then 1.5 back up), or is a larger swing in odds impossible to predict and instead you are predicting smaller swings of a few points because it's more reliable to spot?

      No, on an exchange you are matching against other users. They don't restrict winning exchange accounts at all as it doesn't matter to them. On the exchange they make money from the commission charged to each transaction. Betfair trading turns over more money for them making more commission so they're more than happy to take that!

BA's the most expensive software so it's possible, think it's made millions, not sure how that weighs up to profits though... guess only he would :). Wouldn't be too cynical though, the top 50 exchange accounts on Betfair were making more than Betfair some years back as they disclosed it.

      Trading crypto now would be wise but trading without a professional is really bad I’m a living testimony of Mrs Tisha strategies on trading

      Wow, amazing to see others who trade with Mrs Tisha Lauri, I'm currently on my 5th trade with her and my portfolio has grown tremendously

      The key is not to try and predict the future, but to react to what is happening now.

      @@CaanBerryProTrader these comments are part of a bitcoin scam where fake accounts will comment on videos about bitcoin trading and continue to say the name of a person in this case “Tisha Lauri” helped them make money by giving her bitcoin and then giving them back money or more bitcoin in return. In reality they just take the bitcoin that’s given to them and then dip. Should delete this comments if you can, they’re scammers :/

    As a beginner I'm afraid I have to say I don't understand much at all. You speak quickly, repeat a lot, and appear to be explaining things without really doing so. For example when you switch to Timeform you say "I'm just forming an opinion" - how exactly? what is the opinion and how did you arrive at it? I think I need a pre-beginner video.

      @@CaanBerryProTrader Good of you to reply to very old thread Caan. I've actually ordered your book from Amazon - of course I'd like to be able to trade the way you do but I need to start at the beginning. All the best.

    You could have said all that in 5 minutes, a 25 minute video was excessive

    I don't think this is good at all. Your heading is "No-Risk" which it clearly is not.
