Thanks for watching and if you enjoyed doing so please consider subscribing. I am posting weekly in this series. Also let me know in the comments what flies you would like to see me tie in future videos.
NZ Cicada colours and sizes vary a lot. There are many species. The most common is the Chorus Cicada which is an Olive green. Their numbers peak in February. I tie these flies in green and black mostly and they make good general terestrials for the North Island, South Island is very different and I have only fished it once so don't really know it well enough. Sorry I can't help more.

Cool to see you take up the pattern Johan. Like seeing the materials used.
Thanks Jeff, it's been a really useful pattern. Let me know if there are any others you would like to see.
Nice tie. I'm going to give that ago
Thanks, it's my go to for midsummer here, especially when the cicadas are out but would make a good hopper pattern too.
Do the colors represent South Island cicadas?

@CrazyAboutFlyFishing thanks so much. It's a great pattern, and I will try a few different colors. Looking forward to my visit in Jan!!
@@szerintube enjoy the trip, the South Island is spectacular. The fish are a challenge at times but easily forgotten in that scenery.
