In spite of high yield per unit area production to certain extent the government subsidise them in other forms such as fertilisers, machinery etc. Just imagine if a country just import their food products at the event those countries who reluctant or refused to supply any more what will happen it's selfexplanatory.
There population is more than 100 crores they can afford for mixed marriage.. Your khasi people are only few lakhs.. You will disappeared from this world if the trend continues in Shillong.
