Rode red for the first time today. Thanks for the entrance you showed. I took the early red split (nearest the trailhead) and when I came back around and saw the long bridge and later that section of Armco railing again I was royally confused.
My first time out there we got super lost in that area, and this video was actually our second lap which allowed us to figure it out. Glad the video helps!
Katie isn’t the most difficult trail in the area, but she’s fun to ride IMO. Yellow is the best part of it. Love the gully drop at the Blue/Yellow split. All the drop lines except for Maverick are fun. Mongo is fun. Wiped out on that drop. That part sucked.
I enjoyed the ride a decent amount. A lot of the Dallas flat trails are just super boring, but KJ had some good variety to it. It’s also close enough that you can tie a couple of trails together. It’s also nearby a Culver’s for after ride deliciousness.
@@danielrides right by a Culver's? ...are we talking about the same Katie Jackson :D closest Culvers is like 10 miles up on Sam Rayburn. Lots of good food though in the immediate area otherwise.
@@drewbreyer3900 it’s 5.6 miles to be exact, but only takes a few minutes! We stopped at Arbor Hills on the way too to grab a few more miles. The closest Culver’s to our home base is Flower Mound, and it’s like 40 miles. 😞
@@danielrides okay well a 20 minute drive is closer than a 40 minute drive but that Culver’s is hella out there. I live right by KJ park and I’m like what is this a Culver’s I didn’t know about hahaha. Arbor hills is nice. Just getting into the scene myself and want to try their track now that it’s open again.
Yellow with the drop is awesome. However I think I'm done going there. Last time i had to carry my bike over broken bottles, and cops were there at 8am. It's not fun to think about somebody stealing your cat off your truck, or breaking in when you're trying to ride lol
I’ve looked at several videos on KJ. We road it recently today on BLUE but the part we couldn’t make it over isn’t in your video 🫤. There’s a down/up where there’s a large root ledge 1/2 way up the other side and I couldn’t figure out how to traverse it 🤷🤦🏻♂️
That’s interesting, we didn’t notice anything that we missed. There were some alt lines over on Yellow. Can you identify approximately where in the video it could’ve been? There’s nothing edited out.
@@danielrides if you stay on the blue the entire way, except when it’s 45’ red/blue you’ll come to a gully - simple down but up the other side has a huge root ridge - it’s along the waterway as you’re in the blue trail. There’s no go left or right path up the other side.
@@Bushwhacker909once we get onto yellow, there are a couple of alternative line options. We took the creek drop, was it possibly opposite that area? The other thing I’ve noticed is sometimes on TH-cam it doesn’t look like anything, and in person it looks beefy. 🤷🏻♂️
I rode blue & red today and know exactly where you’re talking about, at around 18:04 in the video. In older videos it’s a smoother ascent but I’m guessing weather and erosion have exposed those roots more. I’ve yet to clear it myself in three tries. I think with the perspective in the video it looks more subtle and he lost no time at all crossing it lol.
Went here yesterday. I got so confused on the trail. I was looking for yellow and I couldn’t find it. I was on parts of it but couldn’t find the jumps at all.
That’s tough! Yes it can be confusing to navigate. If you haven’t already take a peek at Trailforks. You may be able to drop a pin on a map and navigate in to it.

Didn’t even review the skill park smh
You’re right! The skills park was closed when we were there due to the condition after all the rain.
