Visited last summer. I was the only person and so got an extensive and informed tour. (Franky that often seems the case with historic houses that don't have name recognition or are off the beaten path - too bad for cultural appreciation but makes an awesome experience for the solo traveler) The ballroom furniture is stunning, if over the top. There's also a historic 2nd floor meeting room, and exhibit on the African American experience and the third floor is filled with antique toys and other epherma (grandma's attic). Fairmont Park itself is extensive, with trails and dotted with other historic mansions, some of which can be toured. Side note: I was staying in center city and so relied on public transportation. Accessible by bus, but you will walk through Strawberry Mansion (the neighborhood), and I'm not sure I'd do that if you haven't lived in an ... urban in environment, or present an super obvious target. Fairmont park itself is fine.

Sounds like it was in a dangerous area.

I've only been to an outdoor even there and have not seen the inside of this mansion. Thanks for covering. Maybe you'll feature another Fairmount Park mansion and talk about the history that ties a lot of them together (to escape Yellow Fever in the city).

I love that we have made it back in time to the Federalist time period! I love the rustic elegance with woodwork that looks like it was whittled out of old growth wood! Wonderful episode and channel. My favorite thing about my subscription list each week. Thank you!

I have never been to that mansion, but, it looks beautiful. I spent years in an old colonial house, about the same era, and I recognize the hardware on the doors. It is very functional, and never broke, warped or caused any issues. Fun to see it in the beauty you show today.

This is such a lovely home!! I love this house. It’s large but is not overbearing or as grandiose in its elegance as some of the estates you’ve profiled. This has a cute name also. Really love you’re channel Ken always look forward to seeing what’s next on “This House”!! Thanks Ken ! Laura in🇨🇦🇨🇦👌👍💯

This shows that terrible additions to fine homes are not anything new, imagine the home with two wings that matched the center section exactly, set a little forward or back it would be lovely. I am glad this home was saved and the interiors are lovely.

There's more than just Strawberry Mansion in Fairmount Park, about 6. Geo. Washington named it Fairmount, Fair Mount, get it. I'm serious!

This mansion is a treasure of American architecture of the time; Federalism being the popular choice. The two added wings are a bit odd, but don't, in any way, detract from the interest in the house. Thanks, as always. :)

Hey! It’s a great video, but I do want to express disappointment with and dislike for your use of the AI portraits. I know that for your purposes, the AI is likely pulling from stuff that never had copyright to begin with, so I’m not judging you! I’d just like to say that, as someone who works closely with artists, supporting and engaging with current AI solutions encourages them to continue stealing the work of real human artists, and seeing AI images in any context is somewhat unpleasant for me and likely other artistically inclined people as a result. I’m just one guy, you don’t have to pay me any mind, but you seem like a pleasant fellow so I wanted to bring your attention to it. Thanks!

Hi, we do not use AI for generating our content. All photos are retouched by Dalton and me in photoshop and Lightroom. Many of these old photos are not in 4k so we have to upscale them and reduce their grain/scratches/etc to be presentable on screen. If you are referring to the scene with a desk- that was created by us using 3D models (created by humans). All source content is in the public domain or licensed on a per-video basis. We agree with you that the use of AI detracts from presentations and limits artist input- additionally, AI makes a lot of mistakes that we would not want to deal with. I invite you to view our older videos to see that we have been using these same (albeit tedious) presentation methods for longer than AI has been publicly available.
      All the best,
      Ken
