Whoa there kimo-sabe. As educational as I see it. Have always wondered how this was made. How the heck were things done in 'dem days.. Mr. Holster Man. This kind of craft is indescribable. Thank-you !

Please keep up the good work! I just found this pattern pack and will be ordering it. Having a build along video is very helpful!

really enjoy your stuff. Brings back memories and also making me question why I stopped. LOL! I now it's been a while, but who was it that you can order the stencil kits?

The original patterns are from Will Ghormley. I believe they're still available on his website.

If you take black paint and paint over the numbers on your tools then wite it off it will leave paint in the recessed numbers and make it easer to read.

To make them eaaier to read just rub a black marker over the numbers. 👍🏼💯😁

I have a question for you. I am trying to make the same holster but even after I cased the leather as you did when I tool the design it doesn’t appear darker as yours does. I’m curious as to why this would be. Thanks for your great videos.

Hard to say without knowing the leather you're working with. Did you wait for the leather to start drying back to its lighter color.

@@RoadAgentLeather I am using veg tan I got from Tandy,8 to 9 oz and yes I did let it dry before tooling.

@@MrMikeyspfx You don't want it too dry. You want it to JUST start turning back to its' original color. There needs to be residual moisture in the leather for it to burnish correctly like you're looking for.

Beautiful work brother, may I ask what kind of thread did you use? Correct me if I'm wrong, but looks like rope?

That pancake is referred to as the holster skirt.

Ah. I ended up calling it that because folks would contact me asking for a holster without the "pancake" on the back. Learn something new.
