Here a basic etiquette that I think you should already know (as viewers) : 0. Read the vtuber's stream rules (!!!) 1. Don't spam chats (stickers too) 2. Be nice 3. Don't mention other vtuber, unless the host bring that up first. 4. Don't bring topics that's not related to the stream. 4. Use basic english, Holostars bros are Japanese and they have limited English, so be mindful 'cuz they could misunderstand. If u guys didn't know, a certain vtuber said that they banned up to 50 people per stream because of spam. Temma or other vtubers could do that too later on if they want. BE A GOOD SAMARITAN OKAY GUYS?! We love them as much as you love them. But please be mindful 😔.
This is a bit awkward. I was a bit unsure about the content of this clip but then he said FAQ to astel😂 I lost it😂 but I hope chat who does this should be careful next time!
Let me explain a bit, at Temma's stream, while he actually explaining about dried salmon jerky (sake toba) which good to eat while drinking sake/alcoholic drinks. That kind of thing makes his preference of food like an old man (ojisan)'s taste. So chat was teased him, then, there's one chat comment about 'kusogaki(spoiled brat)', and more of chat bring Astel name because he said that Temma is kusogaki. The term kusogaki was actually from other streams. When Ollie & Iofi played apex together in collabs, Astel came and helped Ollie to marry Iofi by winning the game. While playing together they talked a lot, and in one scene, Iofi said that Ollie is a kusogaki, Ollie denied while blaming that his brother, Astel, that Astel is also a big Kusogaki. Then, Astel said that there's an Amazing Kusogaki in holostars, that's, Temma.

Personally, I don't think it was "off" topic. In the first place this was a free talk-meaning there is no theme or set topic. Second the actually conversation leading to this was how the image of dried salmon is often thought for old men. That, in Tenma's opinion, you shouldn't bring said snack to a friends drinking party (because of said image)even though he says he likes it. Thus chat asked if he was technically an old man since he likes it-of course he responded no. Which lead to" not an old man-young man- kuso gaki" from chat. I think up to here it would have been okay. The mentioning of Astel was the unnecessary part. Thankfully he took it in stride by saying he'll challenge him in dodge ball. Then continued the flow of conservation by talking about games he played as a child. Also I'm sure if he didn't like said topic he would have said so. Like when chat started talking about injures and he said he didn't like gore so let's change.
I apologise in advance for the long text wall but here’s my 2 cents. Temma unfortunately brought up kusogakis because chat calls him a kusogakis. Temma was surprised why his chat of non-Japanese speakers calls him a Japanese insults ( I only learn kusogakis when I got into Holostars a few months ago) then reads further to discovered that chat got that phrase from Astel in a separate stream altogether, and that time Astel was talking to Iofi and Ollie so that conversation wasn’t even directed to us. Kusogakis can be an insult too and we’re all still strangers to him so this is not the same type of endearment than if other Holostars would have called him. It’s like having a group of foreigners calling Temma in this case an ‘unpleasant brat’ in front of others out of the blue. You certainly won’t want to call names to strangers or even our parents to their face for no reason! Pidgeoning aside, contexts matter as that could have lead to some serious misunderstanding if we’re not on the same wavelength, even in free talk.

Again I do agree that Astel or that stream in general shouldn't have been mentioned. The best scenario would have been a discussion of the word. Just as Tenma is learning and practicing English, we are also learning some Japanese(for example the do you have LINE?) It could have been a way to learn as you said how that word can be insulting. Many might not have known. And of course it would have been better for this situation to not have happened in the first place, but it has. Ultimately we as chat should just be mindful.

We could have been told that word could have been an insult if we say it to him like this but Temma at that moment decided to take this as a slight by Astel and challenge him to a dodgeball duel so...it is what it is as you say. Holostars as a group can be so close enough to call each other’s names that we as their viewers sometimes forgot that some things like those names are not meant to be used so carelessly.
