I say, the 5-10 dollars safety sunglasses are just as good, and you won't cry when they get scratched or you lose them etc. Also, they're made for protection, they certainly won't let some pebbles break it and hit your eyes. Excellent UV-protection and minimal distortion too. It needs some time to find the perfect model though, some are just garbage.

Hi I've have to wear glasses to help me see better and I like to ride mtb in different environments. So which mtb shades will suit me against wind and sun and light so that I can see better
Hi! Thanks for a very nice video. I notice your examples are all Oakley but you don't mention prices as I've found Oakley to be extremely expensive... yet maybe like you say you get more premium materials. I'll wear goggles as a bicycle commuter in winter as the cold dry Minnesota air on my eyes causes a lot of tearing. Anti-fogging and if they fit over your eyeglasses are major considerations in Minnesota as all of your googles appear great fitting for people who don't wear eyeglasses, and perhaps ride in moderately cold temps right? I also found out with your competitor, Smith goggles, that ski goggles in general are tinted lighter, not like sunglasses, because they are designed for skiers that don't look into the sun but look down at the snow all of the time, so if you're a commuter and need tinted as in sunglasses the ski googles won't reduce the sun enough. I had to return my Smith ski goggles that look a lot like your Oakleys. With my eyeglasses they resulted in much pressure on my nose by them being too big with my helmet and not tinted enough for commuting use.
I’m having real trouble getting glasses for commuting or for riding full. I live in the UK and it doesn’t matter what conditions are, my eyes tear up. Have you found any ones that are good ? You said you wear goggles are they swimming goggles?
What eyewear do you recommend for protecting your eyes from dust? I’m riding with buddies most of the time when I’m riding behind someone the dirt gets in to my eyes. Thank you for this video and any recommendations would help.
3:41 I always have glasses under straps. You might pull off the glasses accidentally when taking of the helmet, drop them and damage lenses, so....them roadies are dumb ;-p
I bought the jawbreaker low light, I did a nighttime ride and I realized halo and double vision on the artificial lights… is a defective lenses? Or is normal?? I preferred to take off my glasses.
It's hot here, so goggles is probably out. I don't wear any right now and I've been hit with bugs and stuff on my face lol. Good thing nothing on the eye yet
I wear Oakley Targetline’s w/ their trail lens when I ride. Not a fan of the angry baseball dad or Tron-esque glasses that are all the range for biking these days.
I had some safety goggles that went over my glasses for yard work etc, but I don't think I'd want to smoosh them against my face ie in a crash and your helmet and goggles etc take an impact, as they could force your glasses into your temples/nose/eyes etc. I also found them a bit wobbly and sweat-inducing. But they might work for you if you can't tolerate contacts.
How do you get POC glasses to stay within the vents of the helmet when not wearing them? I’ve seen Neil do this a few times. For the life of me I can’t get mine to sit securely on top of my helmet when I don’t want to wear them.
You have to own POC glasses AND Helmet and they basically have to be from the same year because they test them by model year to fit together. And you have to buy the right size helmet, and have the right shape head.
And there’s no such thing as .... when I’m under the trees or it’s getting darker their clear but when facing the sun they get dark, right ? I know there are those photosomething but they don’t seem to work very well for what I’ve read.
Oakley manufacturers also those curved lenses for those who need actual eyeglasses. Also you don't need to have those curved lenses for mtb, regular "flat" lense is ok too and then there are tons of options.
Do you ride with or without eyewear? If so do you use goggles or glasses? Let us know!

I also found them a bit wobbly and sweat-inducing. But they might work for you if you can't tolerate contacts.
You can get prescription lenses made, or some other brands like Rudy project and adidas offer an insert option which works well too
You can get script or I know Scott makes otg goggles for mx
Do Oakley sells Rx glasses as well?
Yup, you can get their prism trail lens in prescription, defo a game changer
How do you get POC glasses to stay within the vents of the helmet when not wearing them? I’ve seen Neil do this a few times. For the life of me I can’t get mine to sit securely on top of my helmet when I don’t want to wear them.
You have to own POC glasses AND Helmet and they basically have to be from the same year because they test them by model year to fit together. And you have to buy the right size helmet, and have the right shape head.
Cyberdyne Systems: Skynet that specific, yeah?
Cyberdyne Systems: Skynet I have a POC Tectal helmet and pair of Crave glasses but can’t get them to sit securely, no matter what I try.
Nice vid
Sunglasses works great for me, cheaper and looks better :D haha
And in forests and low light, and night rides?
Wait??? What??? Neil is not a style icon???
Mountain bikers perspective motocross?
And there’s no such thing as .... when I’m under the trees or it’s getting darker their clear but when facing the sun they get dark, right ? I know there are those photosomething but they don’t seem to work very well for what I’ve read.
What bike park is this guys?
Love my oakleys but find that they cause pain at the temples after a few hours of riding.
I ride with Oakley jawbreakers
Personally I like hardware glasses
If I using power glasses then what can I do? I have -4.00. I don't use any lens.
Oakley manufacturers also those curved lenses for those who need actual eyeglasses.
Also you don't need to have those curved lenses for mtb, regular "flat" lense is ok too and then there are tons of options.
@@Pienimusta thanks
Some oakley frames would be able to take your prescription, if not an insert maybe a better option
I prefer goggles downhill, regular sunglasses uphill
My only problem is that when everything gets muddy then how do you clean them out on the trail
@Herando Sanqui I always poop on them afterwards for a scatty shine.
