When the final boss of a game is God you kinda need an epic theme to fight him too. Play this game...seriously...play this game. This has by far the deepest and most complex story line I have EVER seen in either book or video game. Not only that, its extremely creative in its story in throwing a science fiction spin on most religions and why we think they are the way they are. Play it!

what people that never played xenogears think deus is: us killing god
what deus actually is: a wepon system that is just trying to repair itself.
For the people that live on the planet the game takes place on, it is God, since it was the one who made them, even if the reason was for them to function as materials to repair it.

Not gonna happen. The Square Enix now isn't the same Square Soft back then plus the development team all left Square for Namco. If they do make a remake, I guarantee it will fall short of expectations especially to the die hard fans. Same deal with FF7. The expectations are too high. It will only appeal to those who have never played the original.

+GAMMA XII I hope with every fiber of my being that this never happens. The talent isn't there anymore. Squeenix would shit all over a great game and ruin the memory. I could not oppose this thought more. Rather than get the game industry to spew out thoughtless remakes, get them to make new IP's that can compete with the legacy of a legendary game like this.

The raw, real chorus additions made the original a bit more heavy. But this is pretty interesting.
This is the first remix of Awakening that captured most of the awesomeness of the original track and enhanced it without drowning it in effects. Love it!
I was genuinely surprised I got through this fight. I could only take out 2 of the 4 orbs with my party and constantly getting carpet bombed by 2 angels was brutal. By the end Xenogears and Crescens were down for the count and all I had left was Fenrir... on 448 hp. SOMEHOW I managed to enter hyper mode and finished it off with a level infinity deathblow. Citan keeps being the badassest member of the party.

I just finished Xenogears for the first time the other day and man was it awesome! The finale was well done and I must say this rendition of Awakening is superb! But I must ask...will you do an epic remix of The One Who Bares Fangs at God?
Not sure. I know thats a big favorite of the community but to be honest I dont like it very much. Not like awakening at least

***** To be honest, I don't like One Who Bares Fangs at God that much, at least compared to Awakening. Yeah, it fits the cutscene it's played in perfectly and reminds a lot of AKIRA, but Awakening feels more powerful and fitting for a final battle. One more reason why I consider Deus to be the final boss and Urobolus to be a playable cutscene.

This is the kind of music I would expect if you had to destroy Deus in a time limit. Like he was preparing to fire Yahweh and you had to stop him.
Rico save me so much from this fight, somehow he survived 3 orbs, while Citan whom I pick as my 'ace' against the orbs unexpectedly died in the 1st fight
If you enjoyed Xenogears, you will love Xenosaga and Xenoblade... that's also two AMAZING RPGs... Never finished Xenogears, but hell, your comment is pretty much the same I would use to define Xenoblade ^^
Yeah but xenoblade is sooo much different then xenogears and saga. I liked it, but it is much more a huge vast rpg with mmo gameplay, than the complex, psycological religion themed storydriven game like xenogears.
seidl01 thas because gears is the only one that follows the book it's all based on closely-since square holds the rights to using that story and much of what was used in gears-as it stood saga could only use references and homages to the other game set in the future in small bits.
+legrandgrand Xenosaga was terrible. Pretentious drivel that pretended to be everything else than what it actually was... The pseudo-intellectual bare minimum. I don't even consider it part of the franchise. The third entry in the series was the only one worth mentioning.

@@RaizenToguro Haven't played Xenosaga, but Xenblade as a standalone game is incredibly good. And, in a way, it is relevant as it was the first game as part of the new Perfect Works that Monolith may or may not be planning.
