It was different, sure, but I guess Nintendo wanted to see how the fandom would react to a change in pace with it (which it clearly didn’t react too well). Either way, the game itself still pretty great, especially the story. One of the strong points of both this and PM:TTYD was the interesting lore and plot. Those were arguably the last Paper Mario games with an interesting story (Origami King came close, but the story was meh overall). Could just be me as someone who values gameplay a tad less then other things such as story and dialogue, and you’re entitled to your opinion, but I think that the game got hated a bit too much, and that exact hate is what led to the hot mess that is Sticker Star and Nintendo’s removal of original characters.
This game is actually pretty hard without grinding and by super dementio I was level 13-14(not my first playthrough) and still beat him but it was hard
As much as I love SPM, I wish the bosses were harder. I wouldnt mind double, or even triple hp. It would give the player the incentive to use more items. Its why im currently playing through the game getting as little xp as possible to make it harder for myself.
