I feel like I should leave this here: I had meant to include a few additional lines, but forgot to include them in the script. I feel like there's a difference between an Unimpressed Fan and a flat out Detractor. While I was gathering the screenshots for video, I was seeing a lot of toxicity and negativity from other branches of the fanbase that WEREN'T primarily BN fans. When I said "It doesn't make you any less of a fan", I was specifically referring to the BN portion of the fanbase who are less than impressed with the collection, but are still being civil. We ALL want Legends 3 and X9. More Mega Man is always good, but, NEW games take time, and money, so buying the collections will help future projects and releases. I meant to touch on how the BNLC towers over the others in terms of improvements, because the others are basically just rom dumps, while the BNLC are source ports and they actually went through the effort to make them online-capable. There's a good reason this game won "Most Anticipated Game" at the Tokyo Game Show, even beating out other NEW releases, despite it being a collection of old games. The point of the videos was to provide a few different perspectives. I still stand by my statement in that you shouldn't buy something if you won't enjoy it, but that said, don't try to ruin it for those who WILL enjoy it. I saw one guy make a full video railing against BN fans, saying this whole thing was lazy shovelware, and the fans are "Low-IQ sweaty neckbeards", and they "want to get pegged by Capcom". The channel was deleted and the comment page with it, though the video was archived. More than anything, I want peace and unity among Mega Man fans, because we've ALL been through various droughts and broken promises. While I WOULD love to see X9 and Legends 3, it makes more business sense to release this first because EXE has a huge audience in Japan, even if it's comparatively smaller in the West. But, no matter what the future may hold, we'll all face it together, as fans of Mega Man, be it Classic, X, EXE, SF, or Legends. We'll get there together.
the people complaining about the battle network collection from what I saw on steam are a bunch of fools not doing research acting like the collection is the wii u versions of the games when it isn't, they are complete remasters of the games using the gba source code to make the online functions work properly. people need to quit being lazy and actually do proper research. also to the people complaining about no legends games, enough of that, legends is not as big as you think it is, alot of people prefer battle network and starforce over legends, just as many people know about rockman.exe as they do rockman x, and its stupid that you're whining about collections when we should want every series to get a collection on modern platforms so the games won't be lost forever and said series can get money to make said sequels you want. quit whining about no sequel and use your brains. no money from legends collection to show people want said legends sequel, no legends sequel. thats the way the world works. but of course there won't be a legends collection right now, we waited nearly 2-3 years for this battle network collection because of the pandemic, this collection is late for the battle network anniversary, we deserve this collection, so enough.
I didn't care for the Battle Network series until I played Star Force, but I'm still not going to buy it because I've already emulated all the games that I want to play "But then you won't get the SF Collection!" Maybe, but ports of DS games are usually inferior to the original anyway This probably won't affect the eventual Legends Collection either because Legends isn't an RPG or even in the same timeline If the BN fans are truly as ravenous as you guys say, then it'll sell enough. I'm sitting this one out
I really don't know how someone can call this collection a "cheap cash grab". They are putting SO MUCH care and love into it that will probably make this collection the definitive way to play these games, like seriously, if they just wanted to make a "quick buck" out of people's nostalgia they wouldn't have reprogrammed the games from scratch, added online battling and trading, include the event battle chips, etc.
Catch all term referring to any form of rerelease used by cynical people who likely think the worst of the gaming company or gaming in general, the Megaman community unfortunately has a few like that where any notion of hope for the franchise should be called out as being dead and any obstacle an excuse to be lazy
I've legitimately seen major gaming news networks call FF7R just another definitive edition cash grab that was uprezzed from the original. Stupidity has no limits.
Plus we're getting BattleChips from Japan that were very exclusive and hard to attend. I used some random codes to get certain chips and boy it froze the emulator and almost destroyed my computer
Battle Network has been ignored by Capcom for so long, and the Legacy Collection has _so much actual effort and care_ put into it by the devs, especially compared to pretty much any other collection of older games on any platform. I've pre-ordered it 3 times (Steam, Switch, and PS4), and I hope as many people as possible go buy it. Strong sales numbers can only mean more attention from Capcom, and as was shown with the original Megaman series they may even decide to continue the series even after all this time has passed. At the very least, it'll cause them to seriously consider a Star Force Legacy Collection, if not outright greenlighting BN7 and/or SF4. Pretty much every other game collection out there has been nothing more than emulations on newer hardware, often with older features cut out or disabled. Heck, the Pokemon Gen 1 and 2 re-releases on 3DS were just that - emulations without multiplayer. BUT the MMBN Legacy Collection is infinitely better - it's a full source port of all the original games; ALL the original content is included, even content cut in localization for outside Japan and even Japan-only live-event-only content; hell they even _added_ content by adding _online play_ with even more online modes than the original games.
YepYep, I have my preorder down for the Switch at my Gamestop, I want this physical and it feels wrong to play BN any other way but handheld. Even tho funds be tight RN I want to support Battle Network so much. While I do wish we were getting the better DS versions of 1 and 5, this collection is still a dream come true for me~
The thing about this series is that, it's transcended time via narrative and gameplay, this game was a real time action rpg on a 2003 handheld. I don't necessarily want a mmnb7, but I'd dig a new IP from this timeline with the improvements to design and narrative that StarForce made.
So, you want the BN/SF timeline of Megaman games to continue further? With the cancelation of Starforce 4, that timeline of Megaman has been halted ever since, while the "robot" timeline of Megaman progressed so far, to the point that Reploids and Humans are indistigushable, humans possessing robotic attributes such as abit of their body appearance seeming robot-like. I honestly would love the BN/SF timeline to continue further, it's far behind compared to the "robot" timeline, Battle Network and Starforce are my favorite Megaman game series's. With the former being my most favorite. I dunno what exactly makes me love those two series of Megaman games as being my favorites, but it might have something to do with my favorite genre of games being RPGs, though I dunno for certain, as even though I'm myself, I don't know myself often, despite this being my body typing this message with my own hands.
@@zigazav1 not necessarily further in the future, so much as maybe expanding on the continuity. Maybe a few games about the time between lan and geo, maybe even adjacent to MegaMan and lans timeline, about a new character and navi (I think the Navi concept is a bit stronger than the aliens). I also wouldn't be mad if the continuity split, stemming from lan/mega apart from the StarForce, just to keep us grounded in tech. Most of the hype of MegaMan was the tangibility of it all, StarForce was fun but the aliens kind of broke the illusion that all the other games had established, even though I did enjoy the core of the story. And while I thought the 1s person over the shoulder was nice, it imo wasn't as strong as the 6x3 action rpg style. The auto lock ons made the games a bit easier. Not that I have a great idea for a new battle system, StarForce wasn't bad and I appreciate the attempt, maybe Capcom can come up with something that shakes up play and isn't far from the base, once again. I'm yearning for more mmbn timeline storytelling, the series just has a quirk that's only really replicated by like paper Mario. Just absolute kudos to the folks who write on these things. I'll be buying the legacy day 1.
@@zigazav1 Would be funny if it turns out that the "Network timeline" wasn't a separate timeline from the robot era at all, all just so Capcom can say that BN/SF timeline are not being neglected when adding more ZX/Legends lore. But yea, that aside, it'd definitely would be neat if they made more games in the Battle Network verse. Think they could even do the Pokemon/Jojo thing of having different protagonists for different generations, while still referencing past gens without writing them out as "stuff from centuries ago" every single time. I believe that Star Force also deserves a continuation, but it def will have different vibes for a different kind of audience. I mean, I would love them both, but while Batte Network is more grounded and Earth centric, I want Star Force and its successors to explore space more. Cause space is awesome, and there aren't enough MegaMan series that gives it much attention.
this game in my mind is one of those games that defys genre in its combat style, it is so unique and deserves to live on and continue evolving regardless of whether its even themed around megaman or not. That is all.
Honestly when this was only on gameboy I wanted nothing more than to actually battle others across the world, I'm hyped I get this chance years later and I hope to battle as many of the MMBN fans as possible✌
I've been dreaming about this Legacy Collection since the day the classic Mega Man collection came out. When I got the first chance I pre-ordered the Steam version and can't wait until April to finally be able to play and trade online. It is really a dream come true.
As someone who only saw some episodes of NT warrior, loves the art style, played with some of the toys, but never the games.... this collection is the best thing to happen, it definitely allows new fans to get into the series I even plan on making a remix of the main theme to show more support to the franchise
My argument for game collections is as a person who may not have played the series at all. Having a collection that makes getting the games easy because it's one page and one purchase and also usually comes at a good discount. I never got to play the original ac games as a kid and the release of the collection got me to play it which expands the overall reach the content had to begin with making more content easier to pitch to investors.
How dare you provide a voice of reason and encourage moderation. But seriously though, thanks for making this -- you convinced me to buy the legacy collection when up until this point I've been on the fence about it. I have all the games on various emulators and played through them a bunch over the last few years. I've gotten so used to the conveniences of emulation (being able to speed through lengthy dialogue in particular) I wasn't sure if I'd like the standard experience any more. $60 is a lot, but for me it's honestly a pretty small price to pay for all of the hours I've willingly poured into this franchise. Oh, and I'll definitely be getting it for the Switch.
It's one thing for them to port a game millions of times the same way every time, which Capcom usually does but MMBN hasn't been ported that often (especially outside of Japan, where OSS wasn't released) and a genuine effort went into this collection. I do wonder if the online battles will have rollback netcode though.
Yeah not wanting to buy a re release is valid, but I will always be annoyed by people saying "roms exist so these ports are pointless." For gods sake not everyone has access or even want to use roms, people who uses roms are only a small part of players. Official ports are so important for a majority of a fan base to have access to said product.
Indeed, If everything was emulated content would never be made unless out of pure passion and even then apparently that should just be a free rom. There’s also a satisfaction having a shelf no matter how small of your games that emulation can never recreate, just walking up taking one out like a book and popping it open. Also special edition goodies, the obnoxious emulation crowd makes one wish that whole thing would crash and burn
Starforce and Legends are getting their collections at some point in the future because we're almost finished preserving as much as we can in the megaman franchise. And to those that are screeching "Where's battlechip challenge, Huh? Where's Where's Network Transmission then, HUH?". Hold your horses. They're spin-offs first and foremost and I think most of the collections didn't have them so at some point in the future, we're getting a spin-off legacy collection too.
i think it will be called legends/starforce collection in america but in japan i think it will be call rockman dash/shooting star rockman final future collection
In all likelihood, they'll be two different collections. Three games each, with about forty to forty-five USD price tag. That would be my guess. Honestly I hope that they try to make Legends 3 after the BNL game. Capcom is still tredding on the razors edge of being another company I drop.
What stands out for me is the online gameplay. PvP, trading, etc. If Capcom takes this seriously, we may see a start of potential e-Sports competitions out of this. Imagine N1 GP getting a mainstream push.
There will always be people happy about things like this, and vice versa. What only matters is what you as an individual want. Same goes for what Capcom as a company wants to do.
I dont see why people complain about the price, we are getting 10 games for 60 bucks, with vastly improved features and gret looking visual/QoL updates People are spoiled rotten to no end, they need to undersrand that things take time and money, and they need to somehow get that money back if we are to see more games
One thing I wish we had was a guide to how to play online pvp, strategies and how to use chips properly. That's something that isn't taught in the game itself sadly.
Thats what the community is for, the game can't really prepare you for versing another actual human player. Humans have randomness to them, and the game can't predict what a human will do in a competitive setting. There are soooo many competitive guides out there for the BN series
I completely disagree. The naysayers are objectively wrong and their arguments sound like ones you'd hear from fake fans. The fact the games are seeing all the cut content be included, the scripts retranslated and many bugs fixed makes them factually wrong to say there is not really a reason to not just emulate or play the GBA carts, or that these are lazy ports. I don't usually support exclusion, but the community will be better without such grifters and posers spewing their poison in the wells. Discussion and debate is cool and healthy, toxicity and melodramatics aren't. You can wish more was done or the filters were better, but not claim this is a lazy port job.
i love your enthusiasm for this rerelease. i was playing mmbn3 on emulator recently and havent thought about the game in ages prior, only started playing because i heard a song on Spotify that randomly made me think of the game. I looked some stuff up on youtube that i was stuck on and just now found out that this exists. i cant really afford it right now but i absolutely was so excited to hear it was ported to PC as a collection. any game that gets an official PC port that isnt absolute dogshit is a win in my books, and this one seems to be the best possible scenario for a GBA port, even more than anyone would have expected or thought possible. the net battling alone is enough to sell me on it, that is something that I would never be able to accomplish legitimately until now. this one is going on the top of my steam wishlist
I really excited for this on PC. Also did you guys see the jp special edition shot glasses and glass coasters AND badass chip keychain..... Mmmmm so good
Also we need purchases on this if we want more in the franchise. I want a 3d legends feel but in the network setting. It would be so good to play as lan as an adult in 3d
I am so excited for this game and you made so many good points that I agree with. I grew up with these games specifically in the times when gaming was still really looked down on by a lot more people than now. I had nobody to play these with or talk about them with, so I'm really looking forward to do that now that I'm an adult.
I played 4 Red Sun and 3 White on the GBA when I was younger. When I heard this collection was coming, I was HYPED! Can’t wait for it to come out. This’ll be fun!
I'm hyped for this collection and I plan to get it as soon as possible after it comes out. Online multiplayer FTW and the Japanese version cut content being in the English versions FTW!
I can't decide if i'll buy it until it's out and i get some answers. Will they fix bugs and spelling errors in BN4? Is the cut Boktai content in BN6? Does BN5 have any Double Team DS stuff? Are there save states? Is it still permanent crisis music in BN6 endgame?
Most bugs will likely be fixed, like with the Wii U VC, and they mentioned "more accurate translations", so it's been implied they'll fix the spelling errors. Boktai content confirmed. The only BN5DS content confirmed is Bass Cross, and the Crossover Trader. But these were both accessible in the GBA version as well with the proper add-ons. Not sure about Save States. Perma-Crisis Music in BN6 is fixed. Unsure if they fixed it for BN4 as well.
I was planning to get the BNLC when the first trailer dropped, but I;d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little disappointed Even after we got another trailer, all they said was “there’s going to be online” which I already expected But then we found out they’re redesigning certain areas, fixing glitches, possibly redoing the translation, AND there’s gonna be ranked battles That got me hyped, I really wish they announced all that sooner But I am very excited, and I’ll be playing it on the Switch
I'm definitely getting it. Especially since I didn't even get to play the 1st Battle Network. But also because, as you said, yeah, sales do affect future releases. Most importantly, I just miss them.
I'm so happy that the collection is here, I got one copy for Steam so i can do some tiktok live's of it, but also got the physical switch copy for me, so I can relive the glory days of handheld Battle Network! its gonna be a hell of a ride!
Hyped doesn't even begin to describe how i feel. When I was young the only way I had and played was throught emulators. But now...I preordered both volumes...heck if I had the money I would buy it for my friends.
XBOX getting a release so late after the initial release? Hmmm 🤔 ...nah, I don't see it happening. Knowing CAPCOM and their track record iirc (and have some friends that work there) they don't do that, they just stick to their guns and move to the next project. I do think it's funny that people are calling it a "cash grab" now when they are putting SO MUCH EFFORT into this one 6:22 - 6:27 About those posts... 1st post: was a light joke with a dash of truth a 2nd EXE collection would be awesome 2nd post: was owning a hater because that person hated the fact that legends was not the one announced with a funny GIF (from fresh Prince of bel air) was totally justified 🤣 Don't know who wrote that comment at 6:19 but the person ain't wrong either 😂 because games in UK is £49.99 or so tops before the price hike and people reselling stuff at extortionate prices. (PC's are expensive) It was brutally honest and I rate that person for that. Least I made a cameo in your videos in some shape or form 😊 Nice vid still.
I’ve been asking for this collection for so many years and am very excited to see this come to life. I will be purchasing this on both Switch and PS4 at launch. I want that handheld experience again but also appreciate the idea of trophies. Also, I do hope this leads to bringing back the anime and localizing the seasons the West never got.
Definitely getting it on the Switch. Battle Network was a major part of my childhood, I spent so many bus rides to school netbattling my bro, I can't wait to netbattle players worldwide 🤩
Getting the collection twice. One for steam because thats going to be the go to. And Switch because I also want a phisical release. This games gunna be my twitch content for ages, this is going to be a good spring for me this year.
I am excited to pre-order the legacy collection later this year. I found the franchise through comics and loved the story, then found rest of the franchise and the blue bomber capticated my heqrt ever since. I lived in an area and time where consoles were very expensive and not common to have. So I am super excited to properly experience the game myself. Multiplayer and new battle buddies via multiplayer are a bonus!
Possible remaster of Megaman Network Transmission (Gamecube) too, if this goes well. Will be getting this collection, Rockman.EXE is my favorite game series among Megaman games. The anime also rocks! Just can't decide yet if I'll be getting this on Switch or Steam.
I just recently became a fan and have been playing through the classics up through 7. They've all been at the very least good, which is surprising consistency for 7 times in a row. I'm very glad I decided to get in now when it seems like Capcom actually wants to support the series. I even went ahead and bought the X and Zero/ZX Legacy collections as well, so I really hope they start making even more actually new games.
I already pre-ordered the game on Amazon for the Nintendo Switch. I loved the Battle Network games when they came out, so I'm very excited for this game!
I'm an avid Megaman fan so I've been buying all of these collections at launch. That being said, I'm excited for this collection in particular since it'll have the Japanese-exclusive content and it significantly boosts the likelihood of a Starforce collection.
Im so excited for this remaster coming out. It was one of my favorite Megaman IP's outside of the Megaman X collection which I own. Apparently theyre hoping the game welcomes new fans for a new season of Megaman BN coming out
I want more games for the battle system, chip collecting and story. Maybe something taking place years after BN6 but long before SF1. It could feature Lan and the gang as young adults, with a new protagonist. Megaman would have a supporting role, like Protoman/Colonel in BN5.
The online for Battle Network 6 is the most exciting as the N1GP competitive scene is a thing and I feel that could make it more accessable and bring in a lot of new players who love MMBN and playing competitive games. Bur I am still praying for Legends 3 as that is my favorite Megaman series
I like this. Glad you are positive about the Legacy Collection for Mega Man Battle Network. I am too. I always wanted to play those games, but never got to as a kid. Don't know when I'll get it; maybe when it launches, maybe a few months later, or maybe when I have enough money to spent on the collection. Either way, I hope I enjoy this game series MM fans have been praising on the internet for the last 9 years I have been on.
I've been waiting years for this legacy collection, yes it's 60 bucks which is a bummer....but with all the heart and -double- soul put into this, it's definitely worth.
I also explained this to a fellow Mega Man fan about this yesterday. (And his prediction is "If the sales are good, we might see Star Force Legacy Collection as well as the box series of the .EXE anime")
The collection also has built-in event-only content (which are afaik japan-only content), so there is definately a reason to buy into it. 92$ CAD after taxes might seem a lot, but im still very much looking forward to it.
I never got the opportunity to experience the Battle Network games, I only knew the series through the NT Warrior anime and the toys as a kid, so coming from someone who played all classic, X, Zero and ZX I'm really looking forward to buying the Legacy Collection for PC, I really love the designs for the characters and music for this series so I'm sure I'll have a blast. I still have yet to play the Star Force and Legends series as well so I'm hopeful those collections might arrive in a few years. All I'm rooting for now is that once all collections are done the series manages to get back on full force, we had Mega Man 11 and X Dive, so I'm really looking forward for a potential X9 and Legends 3 and the best way to help reach those dreams is to tell Capcom we do love the franchise by legally supporting the series and buying the games.
I said this on a previous video about the price tag of the BNLC and you know what 60$ ain't shit compared to trying to buy a physical cartridge off craigslist or ebay one game cartridge is going to cost you more than 80$ since they are collectors items now not to mention being able to play these games on a larger crisper pixelated screen with bug fixes and high resolution is a deal breaker for me personally, anyone saying that 60$ is too much you need to go back in time and do some research most of these games when they came out were priced at 15-25$ back in the day think about spending that on all 10 titles once again if anyone thinks 60$ is asking to much they're an imbecile.
little addendum: the legacy collections games are based on the original japanese versions, but retranslated to english. this is significant as each game has had content cut from the international releases, or really hard to obtain. e-reader, boktai, event chips.... this is also literally the official way to be able to experience all this. and while the doubleteam ds-exclusive features in bn5 and or bn6s boktai crossover battles were not carried over (the latters rewards ARE included, just gained through other means due to needing a physical connection with boktai) , those are understandible cuts. and whats here is the best way to experience the battle network series. bar none.
I really hope this game sells well. I definitely want to do my part to make sure it does. I wish Mega Man in general were more popular. Hopefully this can get a whole bunch of people in the series, or at the very least show that it still has a dedicated fan base.
I don't think the $60 price tag is all that bad tbh. MMBN6 itself is going for around $50-$60 on ebay. Honestly people can choose what they do with their money, but I'm looking forward to playing MMBN series again and properly reading the story this time. Definitely going to be getting this on the switch!
If you've been on the Steam community hub for this at all recently, you've seen me defending this collection a lot! I'm there a lot and I absolutely love these games. I've been waiting for this collection for a very very long time, and I couldn't be more excited. and as far as it bringing new things, it's even having splashes in the fandom... like my new massive project on a new youtube channel Hyper Frost Productions.. Where we will be going in and adding voice acting to every character, every interaction, every cut scene, in all 6 games for TH-cam videos. big undertaking, but I got the drive and have had this in pre-production for 6 months, shortly after the first trailer for this collection dropped.
I really hope that they redo the Classic and X Collections like they did Zero/ZX and Battle Network; using the game's Source Code to port and improve on them. It was especially baffling with the Classic Collections, since they ALREADY had gotten just that with the japanese Complete Works Collection and the western Anniversary Collection. Those introduced a Navi Mode for beginners, quick weapon switching and even a level up system and minigames for the Pocketstation (only Japan). Having Zero/ZX's Save Assist for Classic and X would also make them so much more accessible.
They need to do a batle network mmo and link it to a Pokémon Go style application. We don't need crazy graphics. Just allow us to create our net navis, allow us to grind, busting viruses, and give us a platform to fight other net navis. I wouldn't even mind paying for decks of battle chips like it's done for Yugioh.
I grew up with megaman, think i first played mega man 4 of 5 on the nes way back in the 90s. Battle network is stil one of my fave versions of megaman, the 3x3 grid rpg gameplay has yet to be duplicated and even almost 20 years later it still holds up. I never understood why other companies never expanded on it but glad i can get my fix again now with the legacy collection
Even if we don't get the Z-Saver (not me typoing the word, it's Capcom's typo) Battle Chip for having Zero/ZX Legacy Collection save data on the same profile, it has been discovered a Numberman Lottery Code for it, several years later after the initial release. Again, as you've said, perhaps we'll have the Z-Saver Battlechip earned if we have Zero/ZX Legacy Collection save data, as I don't think Capcom has deconfirmed it being a thing. I'm getting the Battle Network Legacy Collection on Switch, which also has my Zero/ZX Legacy Collection save data, so, I'll be able to find out if that's the case, like you with PS4
Them needing to retranslate the series from the japanese version gives much room to fix all the spelling problems of 4 and adds lots of missing post game in 6. Maybe not enough for some, but there definitely is a lot of neat things added that should bring some people to it
You are so right. That is the same reason I'm buying metroid prime remastered. Yes I've played It before but I want nintendo to know very well that people still want new metroid games. I will also buy this collection for that same reason.
What made MMBN so endearing was the fact that it was its own separate universe, and how they carefully use characters from the past Mega Man franchises, and use them as their own Net Navis in this universe. And plus the story didn't drag on like past Mega Man games. Can you imagine if they continued MMBN franchise which follows Lan and his friends in Junior High, and face or befriend Net Navis from the MegaMan X franchise? If they can do that, shut up and take my money.
I have my pre-order set for Switch. I have copies of most of the games (I at least have 1 version of each installment), but carrying a gba with cartridges and batteries can be a bit tricky to manage if I'm feeling the itch to explore the Net. Having it already folded into my Switch library makes that easier. I'll probably get the Steam version too, in case there's a good modding scene there.
Regardless of what my reasons for either supporting or not, I am excited for this collection. Battle Network has always been one of my favorite Mega Man Series, and carried me through alot of family car rides. I only really played through 1 and 2, but even experiencing the rest of the games through my brothers copies of 3 or watching game streams, these are just great games! I love the fact that these games are being made so easy to access, especially since my collecting of the original cartridges has stopped due to the games being quite expensive now. I used to watch the shows on Saturday mornings, and loved that the storylines tied up with the gameboy games I played, or that this game series just seemed so high-quality. I learned of the series based of an advertisement in Nintendo Power and grew to love it, and I hope that some people who may not know the series can feel that same way from this collection. There are a few reasons why I'm choosing to support the collection. One, I love the series and want to own it in a collection form! It is kinda cool and I want to see what goodies they are including! Two, The games are going to be based on the Japanese versions, and guessing from the card download feature they showed, I think they are including things in the west we never got, like the Ereader card content which is really cool and fun! Third, The online element. I know that it's possible to battle online with other methods, but this was something I could only dream of as a kid, since I didn't have anyone else who owned the games. It'll be fun to just jump on randomly and see who out there is raring to battle! I love your opinions and statements on the subject, and everyone is free to act as they wish like you said, but I'm just happy to see something I loved as a kid get some time in the spotlight again. :)
I just wish these were getting physical releases here in Australia. Only Mega Man 11 got a physical release here in Australia when it comes to new games and game collections. I didn’t miss one did I?
MegaMan battle network was the game that I got with my game boy advance. There is no way that I’m missing out on buying this. And not even just because I’m a battle network fan but because I’m a MegaMan fan in general. And let’s not forget the Capcom is notorious for letting their wallets decide what they’re going to invest in next. And if the battle network collection doesn’t sell well, they’ll just see that as a sign that nobody cares about megaman battle network anymore. And that’s if we’re lucky, they may very well assume that we no longer care about megaman in general.
I feel like I should leave this here:
I had meant to include a few additional lines, but forgot to include them in the script.
We'll get there together.
the people complaining about the battle network collection from what I saw on steam are a bunch of fools not doing research acting like the collection is the wii u versions of the games when it isn't, they are complete remasters of the games using the gba source code to make the online functions work properly. people need to quit being lazy and actually do proper research. also to the people complaining about no legends games, enough of that, legends is not as big as you think it is, alot of people prefer battle network and starforce over legends, just as many people know about rockman.exe as they do rockman x, and its stupid that you're whining about collections when we should want every series to get a collection on modern platforms so the games won't be lost forever and said series can get money to make said sequels you want. quit whining about no sequel and use your brains. no money from legends collection to show people want said legends sequel, no legends sequel. thats the way the world works. but of course there won't be a legends collection right now, we waited nearly 2-3 years for this battle network collection because of the pandemic, this collection is late for the battle network anniversary, we deserve this collection, so enough.
also I'm preordering it at launch for switch and steam
@@infern209x Say it louder for the people in the back! (forgot about the Xbox owners too)
@@infern209x Same. Switch for multiplayer and base game stuff, Steam for mods and to play on my Steam Deck.
I didn't care for the Battle Network series until I played Star Force, but I'm still not going to buy it because I've already emulated all the games that I want to play
"But then you won't get the SF Collection!"
Maybe, but ports of DS games are usually inferior to the original anyway
This probably won't affect the eventual Legends Collection either because Legends isn't an RPG or even in the same timeline
If the BN fans are truly as ravenous as you guys say, then it'll sell enough.
I remember someone saying that in a Facebook post that I had to shut the fool down and end up blocking me lol
@@Xeno-The-Wanderer True
It's always the interesting series that gets this treatment....
Zero, Zx, and now Battle Network, at this point, there is a good chance StarForce and Legends will get the collection treatment as well.
@Hardy Joe I mean to be fair it is also because they pumped out so many at once.
YepYep, I have my preorder down for the Switch at my Gamestop, I want this physical and it feels wrong to play BN any other way but handheld. Even tho funds be tight RN I want to support Battle Network so much.
While I do wish we were getting the better DS versions of 1 and 5, this collection is still a dream come true for me~
buying it twice physical and digital on switch
@@zigazav1
Would be funny if it turns out that the "Network timeline" wasn't a separate timeline from the robot era at all, all just so Capcom can say that BN/SF timeline are not being neglected when adding more ZX/Legends lore.
That is all.
that's what i'm saying bro there's a change they bring this franchise back with a new name. Mega Man Super Battle Network 1 (2025), watch for it
Honestly when this was only on gameboy I wanted nothing more than to actually battle others across the world, I'm hyped I get this chance years later and I hope to battle as many of the MMBN fans as possible✌
Looking forward to winning your chips friend!
Me too;)
I've been dreaming about this Legacy Collection since the day the classic Mega Man collection came out. When I got the first chance I pre-ordered the Steam version and can't wait until April to finally be able to play and trade online. It is really a dream come true.
As someone who only saw some episodes of NT warrior, loves the art style, played with some of the toys, but never the games.... this collection is the best thing to happen, it definitely allows new fans to get into the series
I even plan on making a remix of the main theme to show more support to the franchise
I just hope this just lead to a star force/legends collection called something like mega man future collection.
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
@@TheFluBugZ you for got star force is actually 7
What stands out for me is the online gameplay. PvP, trading, etc. If Capcom takes this seriously, we may see a start of potential e-Sports competitions out of this. Imagine N1 GP getting a mainstream push.
Team countries battling it out. Individuals going to the next level. it be pretty cool.
Not everything needs to be an "esport."

Been hyped for this ever since I saw the launch trailer! Got my copies preordered for day 1!
I am definitely hyped for the Legacy Collection. I already pre-ordered it for PS4/PS5
Do you think we'll get steam achievements?
There will always be people happy about things like this, and vice versa. What only matters is what you as an individual want. Same goes for what Capcom as a company wants to do.
I dont see why people complain about the price, we are getting 10 games for 60 bucks, with vastly improved features and gret looking visual/QoL updates
People are spoiled rotten to no end, they need to undersrand that things take time and money, and they need to somehow get that money back if we are to see more games
One thing I wish we had was a guide to how to play online pvp, strategies and how to use chips properly. That's something that isn't taught in the game itself sadly.
The community shall provide
I've never thought we will have a legacy collection. I will be buying it steam deck and on switch.
I've never bought this game as a child. I'm buying it now.
Can't wait for Star Force or Legends Collection.
Not sure why I never saw this channel before. But I’m going to like comment and subscribe because I love MMBN and this channel is all about it
I am so excited for this game and you made so many good points that I agree with.
I just finished my pre order and I'm excited about it got mine for the switch
I was planning to get the BNLC when the first trailer dropped, but I;d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little disappointed
Even after we got another trailer, all they said was “there’s going to be online” which I already expected
But then we found out they’re redesigning certain areas, fixing glitches, possibly redoing the translation, AND there’s gonna be ranked battles
That got me hyped, I really wish they announced all that sooner
But I am very excited, and I’ll be playing it on the Switch
I'm definitely getting it. Especially since I didn't even get to play the 1st Battle Network. But also because, as you said, yeah, sales do affect future releases. Most importantly, I just miss them.
Bro I don't a give a flying f*** I'm getting this game it's awesome dude
I do think it's funny that people are calling it a "cash grab" now when they are putting SO MUCH EFFORT into this one
6:22 - 6:27 About those posts...
1st post: was a light joke with a dash of truth a 2nd EXE collection would be awesome

was totally justified 🤣
Don't know who wrote that comment at 6:19 but the person ain't wrong either 😂 because games in UK is £49.99 or so tops before the price hike and people reselling stuff at extortionate prices. (PC's are expensive) It was brutally honest and I rate that person for that.

God I grew up with these games, I'll definitely be getting it. Nice video btw!
I remember the part in bn3 when Megaman said “Its bustin time!” And then he busted all the viruses. Definitely one of my games ever made.
Just can't decide yet if I'll be getting this on Switch or Steam.
as someone whos only ever played the DS version of 5, im looking forward to this
I just recently became a fan and have been playing through the classics up through 7.
Getting On Launch With The 2 DLCS For Pre Order
I already pre-ordered the game on Amazon for the Nintendo Switch. I loved the Battle Network games when they came out, so I'm very excited for this game!
I'm an avid Megaman fan so I've been buying all of these collections at launch.
That being said, I'm excited for this collection in particular since it'll have the Japanese-exclusive content and it significantly boosts the likelihood of a Starforce collection.
Im so excited for this remaster coming out. It was one of my favorite Megaman IP's outside of the Megaman X collection which I own. Apparently theyre hoping the game welcomes new fans for a new season of Megaman BN coming out
I’m getting on launch both hard copy and gonna download it on switch love the video
I want more games for the battle system, chip collecting and story.
Maybe something taking place years after BN6 but long before SF1.
It could feature Lan and the gang as young adults, with a new protagonist.
Megaman would have a supporting role, like Protoman/Colonel in BN5.
The Anime and Manga is said to be included in the Legacy Collection. That's what the Steam description says, at least.
The online for Battle Network 6 is the most exciting as the N1GP competitive scene is a thing and I feel that could make it more accessable and bring in a lot of new players who love MMBN and playing competitive games. Bur I am still praying for Legends 3 as that is my favorite Megaman series
I’m so excited for battle network legacy collection! It is definitely a day one purchase for me!
Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Esports it's gonna be big.
I've been saying this about every remaster or remake, if sales are good then a sequel is likely to show up.
Is my dragoon Kuzunoha but I change to devilman the hero
The collection also has built-in event-only content (which are afaik japan-only content), so there is definately a reason to buy into it. 92$ CAD after taxes might seem a lot, but im still very much looking forward to it.
Amazing job
I’m excited to replay these and get the chance to play the ones I didn’t get a chance to play
Getting it on the Switch to bring back good memories of the story
I have all the cartridges still for the Gameboy Advance and I murdered them, I cannot wait for this to come out, level s everything
Let's hope because of this we get mmsf4
They only had online multiplayer on the DS Megaman games, plus with the ranked battles we’ve been starving using hemachi and discord servers.
No one has the right to steal a game by emulating it. Just don't play it if you're not going to do it legally.
The fact the only improvements/New content are for the online stuff, is why I'd only consider getting it while it's on sale.
Im excited for this. I love everything megaman!!
I want only 3 things:
Megaman bn 7
Starforce 4
Megaman exe for smash bros
Its a straight buy for me. I will enjoy these to the fullest again like I was a little kid again
You: The only Discord there needs to be are Discord Servers.
The Discord Battle Chip: 😢Sad Trumpet Noises
little addendum: the legacy collections games are based on the original japanese versions, but retranslated to english.
this is significant as each game has had content cut from the international releases, or really hard to obtain.
e-reader, boktai, event chips....
this is also literally the official way to be able to experience all this.
and while the doubleteam ds-exclusive features in bn5 and or bn6s boktai crossover battles were not carried over (the latters rewards ARE included, just gained through other means due to needing a physical connection with boktai) , those are understandible cuts.
and whats here is the best way to experience the battle network series.
Definitely going to be getting this on the switch!
oh I pre-ordered the legacy collection the day I knew it was dropping so yeah for sure I'm on the hype train
Buying it on PS4. Since I bought Zero/ZX on it. Who knows might get the Z-Saber chip for having data from that LC.
Cool if it does. If not there's always the number man code.
maybe if the collection is a succes sales wiese we might get a new game
This release will be fantastic, I think the switch needed this honesty
whats the theme at 2:47? ive never heard it? 🔥
That's the Mr. Weather Comp theme from MMBN6.
@@FlashingBladesProductions ahh thank you! I’ve never been able to play 6 so that’s why!!

This collection to me means as someone who only played 1 or 2 of the games in the series means I can catch up with the ones I missed.
Can someone enlighten me, is the collection split into 2 volumes?? I can’t find a straightforward answer.
Physical copies contain both volumes. Digitally, they can be purchased separately.
I'm excited for this Legacy Collection. I intend to buy it for Switch to play on the go and PS4 for fun
Honestly I only had the first battle network game so I'm happy they did this so I can play all of them and battle friends
