it look awesome what is your laser cutting working size? and do u only use laser cutting to create this wall clock? can i have ur laser cut model anyway?
Thank you! :) When I first started making earrings I had that issue, and I tried lots of different types of glue. The best one I found is “Roo Glue” rooglue.com/product/roowood/. Also, the earring posts with the biggest pads definitely hold up the best. I try to use 8mm posts when ever I can, and I always tell customers to never get their earrings wet.
Do you have a video of the different types of custom Score settings you have. I see you have a large score, medium Score and small score custom setting
Hi! I use a very fine tip paint brush and the paint I use is Craft Smart acrylic paint, which dries quickly so it’s easy to work with :) Also, the scored lines make it easier to paint within the lines since they are are indented on the wood.
Hi! I do, but I use the same earring card to spray all of them because it kind of messes up the earring card. So that way I’m not messing up all my cards :)
Do you seal the earrings on the card you sell them on? I would think there would be a shadow there they were, when the earring are purchased and removed from the card.
Can you do an Office tour? I would love to see how you organize and the table you have your Glowforge on. I’m ordering one soon but stumped on tables for it.
They're usually around 12mm x 12mm! I actually list all of my earring sizes in my Etsy listing descriptions if you want to check them out: etsy.me/3XjvdiC
Do you see the glue strokes over the earring backing after you brush the extra glue? I currently use Clear Gorilla glue for my earring backs but I hate when extra glue comes out the sides. So I'm looking for a better and easier way.
Hi Jennifer! That depends on which model you have, and obviously how many earrings you're cutting, what size they are, etc. I have the Basic model (which is the slowest). So for example, to cut 1 pair of the octopus stud earrings in this video it takes 21 seconds.
Do you still use Aleene’s. Or have you found a better sealer? If it’s still Aleene’s how many coats do you use? I find that my earrings still chip after 3-4 coats. I’m just not sure what I’m doing wrong. Thanks in advance!
@@VicTacToe I use craftsmart acrylic water based paints. I found that my project chipped when I used mod podge matte spray, I didn’t feel confident that it wouldn’t chip looking at my product with Aleene’s. Right now I brush on matte mod podge. Not sure if that’s a good alternative, still always worried about chipping. 😅🤦🏽♀️
Thanks, I appreciate your response! I’m not quite sure what I may be doing wrong. Have you used mod podge in the past? If so what was your experience with it? I’ve used both the spray and the paste. I’m contemplating using the paste and then spray on top.
I don't have any experience with mod podge. That sounds like a good plan, I would try it out and see if it holds up! I also used to use Krylon acrylic spray, but I switched to Aleene's because I wanted more of a glossy finish.
Hi! I design SVGs and always make sure my decimals are set at 3, which seems to work well for shirts/signs. Do you set them at 7 because the earrings are so small?
I just gave 3 a try and it did actually work fine, so I guess 7 is a bit of over kill 😂 I had such a bad experience saving the decimals at 1 I wanted to make sure I didn’t mess up my designs again haha
@@VicTacToe I totally get that! Mine started reverting to 1 awhile back. I had no idea what was going on and it took me for.ev.er to figure it out! But I'm glad 3 works too! Thanks for your reply!
Fantastic video! It was clear and straightforward.
Could I suggest recording in an echo free room. ❤
Thank you for showing us your method of making earrings. Your work is wonderful and your earrings are adorable!
Aw, thank you!! And my pleasure 😊
Your energy is Amazing!!! Keep up with the great content.
Thanks so much!! ☺️

Great video! What do you seal the painted earrings with?
Thank you! I used Aleene’s glossy sealer :)
Hi! Does the spray you use have a strong smell and does it leave a tacky feel?
It definitely has a strong smell, so I always spray outside. And it doesn’t have a tacky feel once it’s dry.
Does the smell go away after it dries?
Yes, it does :)
Thank you so much for sharing this information! love your work!
No problem!! And thank you! 😎
I just bought the Glowforge Aura are these the same settings for making multiple ear rings at one time? And thank you
Yes, same settings! And should work just fine on Glowforge Aura 😊
What size earring backings for the 5mm earring posts?
These are the ones I get, 6x4.5mm :

Parabens ficou um amor
could the lazer cut hardwood like black ebony or rosewood?
Those should be fine as long as they're non-toxic!
Love your video!
Did you have any issues with the wood breaking off the earring backing?
Thank you! :) When I first started making earrings I had that issue, and I tried lots of different types of glue. The best one I found is “Roo Glue” rooglue.com/product/roowood/. Do you ever seal your earring BEFORE you paint?
I don’t, I always seal them after. Not a bad idea though!
Loveeee more
Videos please on full glowforge tutorials
Thank you!! That's my plan :)
Beautiful work
Thank you! ☺️
Hey! Are these suitable for kids?
Personally, I think the size and design is perfect for kids but you could always make them a bit smaller depending on your preference :)
Do you have a video of the different types of custom Score settings you have. I see you have a large score, medium Score and small score custom setting
I do actually! th-cam.com/video/FAh6wqGklyo/w-d-xo.html
Beautiful job and thank you for a very detailed video.🥰
Aw thanks! You’re very welcome 😊
how do you not get paint in the score lines?
Hi! I've never really thought much about it actually, it naturally just doesn't fall into the cracks very much as I'm painting.
So helpful...thank you!
So glad it was helpful! ☺️
How did you paint the super fine detail like the crab eyes without any bleed over or any paint getting in the black?
Hi! I use a very fine tip paint brush and the paint I use is Craft Smart acrylic paint, which dries quickly so it’s easy to work with :) Also, the scored lines make it easier to paint within the lines since they are are indented on the wood.
@@VicTacToe thanks!
Do you seal it while it’s on the jewelry card? Thanks!
Hi! I do, but I use the same earring card to spray all of them because it kind of messes up the earring card. So that way I’m not messing up all my cards :)
Can you use a regular computer to draw or does it have to be a ipad
Hi there, You could draw on the computer or you could also just draw on paper and scan it in :)
Beautiful work!
Thanks so much! 😎
Do you seal the earrings on the card you sell them on? I would think there would be a shadow there they were, when the earring are purchased and removed from the card.
Hi! I use the same earring card to spray all of them because it does mess up the earring card. And then I put them on a clean card to sell :)
Can you do an Office tour? I would love to see how you organize and the table you have your Glowforge on. I’m ordering one soon but stumped on tables for it.
Yes! I will add that to my list :)
In the mean time here is a link to the table I have my Glowforge on: amzn.to/3rx0CzH
Do you find there is a difference between hardwood and plywood when it comes to the final product?
If I’m painting the wood, I don’t see much of a difference… but if I were just staining the wood I would use hardwood. 🙂
What is the general size of earrings. Thank you
They're usually around 12mm x 12mm! I actually list all of my earring sizes in my Etsy listing descriptions if you want to check them out: etsy.me/3XjvdiC
Great video!!
Thanks so much!! ☺️
I'm already following your shop on ETSY, yay! do you remove them from the card before you seal?
Nice!! I just have a few cards that I use for sealing since it ruins the card. Then I place them on a fresh card after sealing. ☺️
Do you see the glue strokes over the earring backing after you brush the extra glue? I currently use Clear Gorilla glue for my earring backs but I hate when extra glue comes out the sides. So I'm looking for a better and easier way.
I can see the glue a bit on my backings but it’s not super noticeable. I use Roo Wood Glue. 🙂
Have you used draftboard before when making earrings? And does it take the acrylic paint well? Thanks!
I have not tried making them with draftboard actually!
Thank you for sharing this!
You’re very welcome! 😎
Hi Vic! Where do you get the earring cards?
Hi! I actually made them on my Glowforge with a Kraft cardstock paper. 🙂
How long does it take for the glowforge to cut the earrings?
Hi Jennifer! That depends on which model you have, and obviously how many earrings you're cutting, what size they are, etc. I have the Basic model (which is the slowest). So for example, to cut 1 pair of the octopus stud earrings in this video it takes 21 seconds.

Of course! And same here, I wasted so much time!
What do you mean by decimal? I’m not familiar with that term in relation to cutting files.
@@dfpotter1 When you're saving an SVG one of the options is "decimal" and you have to type a number :)
Do you record any other glues? I’m trying to get my supplies right away but I may have to wait to order the glue =\
Hi! The Roo glue is the only one I personally had success with… I tried a lot of others that were no good.
Do you prime your wood? Because I tried this with my GF and I went to paint it and the wood just soaked up the paint…
I don’t prime it. I use unfinished maple hardwood (from inventables.com) and crafts smart acrylic paint, and have not encountered that issue!
@@VicTacToe Hi Vic! Do you use their soft or hard maple?
@@johanalex9616 Hi! Hard Maple 😊
@@VicTacToe Thank you!
How did Charlie not knock off the plant from the table 😅
