    Thanks for the video. I’m a drafting student in Texas and took architectural drafting using Revit and genuinely enjoyed every minute of it. I’m going for Revit’s Professional certification. This helped a lot, thanks!!

    Hi mr Guru......Congratulations ,,,,you got it......that's also my goal since....and now i'm focus in improving my skills to get it; at least at the end of this year.......your comments makes me feel more confident and reassuring about the test...... avoiding been overwhelmed by my leaning process...30minutes is great.

      Indeed no need to overwhelm yourself. Chances are you are naturally well prepared for it if you use Revit on a regular basis.

    Thank you for this overview of why the Revit Certification is important. We have determining verification of skilled professionals in Revit is necessary in HR for hiring. This is a great tool we plan to implement in our HR process at O'Brien Design Build.

      I got certified by Autodesk for Certified Professional In Revit last December without any prior professional experience, I applied for a few entry-level Revit Modeler jobs, clearly mentioning my certification on my resume and cover letters, but I did not receive a single invitation for an interview. The world is just unfair😔

    Hi Gavin. Great Video!!! I have a couple of doubts about the exam and the way they check the answers. I have the next question. 1) In some of the answers the result is negative (-), should we consider the minus (-) character in the answer? or just the digits.
    2) Also something similar happens when they ask to put a suffix like "-Struct" for a level name. I am not sure about the dash "-" should be considered or not.

    • @AussieBIMGuru
      @AussieBIMGuru  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Usually the answer is explicit unless otherwise identified. If they ask for 'the name of the level' and don't say 'without the prefix' for example, I would expect that the full name is required. Likewise with negative results I would say the '-' is needed unless it asks for magnitude only.

    Hi Gavin! I was never really interested in this, but now it's starting to look like a good way to prove my knowledge to employers, as I see that people tend to be suspicious about self-learning folks like me and just taking your word and portfolio into account...
    One question: do you get a score or just Pass or No Pass?
    Thanks for the tips again and again ;)

    • @AussieBIMGuru

    Hi, I took the exam about 10 days ago. It is 44 questions instead of 35. Most of them are multi-choice questions. Someone told me I took the wrong one(They said the one they took is for the product version of revit ), However, I only see one option in website. Do you have any clue about this?

    • @AussieBIMGuru
      @AussieBIMGuru  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure to be honest - they offer a lot of courses for different platforms.
      The one I took was 'revit architecture cerrified professional'.

    • @AussieBIMGuru

      In my case I had to in order to get results but that was about 5 years ago now! These days they are online so I doubt they're worth much on paper to recruiters. Mine never really helped me much vs experience and networking in the end.

      As far as I know there isn't an official training course or material, but my advice is to just practice using and exploring the software and familiarizing yourself with the naming of tools and objects. Most of what I experienced in the test is covered by everyday use of Revit - nothing too tricky.

I believe it had changed since I made this video and is now all multiple choice without needing to open a model but I may be mistaken (just told by others). Most questions when I took it required users to undertake model changes and report on the outcome to verify it was done properly, for example trimming some walls and reporting the area of the result.

    How log does Revit professional license lasts ? I bothered asking since in your video (0:40-0:53) you mentioned "recognized validation for 3 years". Is this certification valid temporarily or permanent ?

    • @AussieBIMGuru
      @AussieBIMGuru  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      As far as I know all Revit certifications are valid for a period of time. The ACP exam is valid for 3 years, usually the test registration pages mention the period the cert will be valid for. Software changes so it wouldn't make sense for it to be permanent.

    • @vijendrakumar1437

    Hello Gavin, I live in Canada, and without any prior professional experience I recently got certified by Autodesk for the same certification in Revit, I have been applying, and have applied for a few entry-level Revit modeler positions after receiving the certification, I have not received a single invitation for an interview. What should I do, This is very demotivating.

    • @AussieBIMGuru

      Unfortunately it is a competitive/uncertain time economically - you aren't alone in this challenge. Some companies are on hiring freezes, but some are still growing depending on their pipelines. Work through any connections in practice or your peers if possible to beat the resume pile. Generally you will need a bachelors or masters degree relevant to the company to stand out also, masters ideally based on my experience in Australia. Keep trying is really the only immediate advice I have beyond that, as well as focus on learning whatever skills you can in the meantime.

    • @AussieBIMGuru
      @AussieBIMGuru  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably not. It's not an exam intended for people who haven't used revit before - they ask questions about the program such as shortcut keys, tool names and technical questions.
