My brothers & I used to play this, the fully coop story, king of the hill, wheelchair racing & more. I'm sure thousands of hours put on that ps2. My brother committed suicide in 2011. I still have his saves for the warriors. Thank you, Rockstar for bringing us together. If any of you have family that enjoys to game, consider playing just one more game with them. I would give anything for just one more game
This game was so damn immersive for me at the time, I'll never forget the Black out riot mission, felt like me and my friend Tyler were really there, hard to Explain but what a feeling You get from video games as kid.
A remake of the Warriors would be the rare occasion where I would happily pay $100 on release for, and I know the original has so many fans who would do the same. This Is probably the game I’ve poured the most time into over the years, absolute classic. Pure nostalgia but once you put that aside it’s still just so fun and satisfying and holds up incredibly despite the graphics and limited exploration outside of missions, which is why a remake is extremely justified and needed. Wake tf up Rockstar. Look at the stylistic and gameplay potential this game has!
I hereby put forth a proposal for a Remaster. It would get old and new fans into the world of Warriors again. Sooo many young 20 year olds have never heard of the Warriors so it would be cool to have online and do a bunch of gang fights like old times
My buddy and I played this for the PS2 when it came out. When we got to the pool hall we both shouted at the same time POOL BALLS! then proceeded to smash everybody in the face we could with them. This game is a gem, probably my favourite 2 player game ever.
Damn, that list of games released in 2005 was just banger after banger after banger. I was a junior in high school when my cousin and I couch-coop'ed this gem. It's one of my favorite gaming memories. Thank you for reminding me of great times with this awesome walk down memory lane.
Rockstar hit the nail with the in-game DIALOGUE alone. Got the majority of the original cast to voice their characters. Vast diversity of different voices of gang members and civilians & interactions. Red Dead Revolver had it too! Captures the era the game is based on bringing in an amazing experience.
This game has the most hardcore brick shots to the face I've ever seen. I feel like I have to go to the ER and get my jaw wired shut every time I use that finisher. Even Last of Us couldn't top it.
even if its highly impossible to do a remake, i hope the news about russo bros wants to make a remake from the movie into a series will happen real soon
I own The Warriors, the whole Midnight Club series, the majority of GTA titles, all the Red Deads, and Bully. The Warriors is my #1 favorite movie and PS2 game. Played this on my PS5 after literally like 15 years of not playing it. Beat it countless times as a kid. It runs kinda choppy on ps5 due to the emulation, but still 100% playable. I got the "complete all bonus objectives" trophy, and just need to do a few more things to unlock them all. Had so much time playing this game again after so long. The gameplay, soundtrack, and awesome levels brought back so many memories. It's safe to say they sure don't make em like this anymore.
This game is amazing. Hours of fun especially with a friend. To be honest this game does not deserve a remaster.... it deserves an entire remake!! (Hopefully not by the people who did the gta trilogy definitive edition)
Has to be my favorite game of all time, I'm playing through it again right now on PS5. When I was a kid I wasn't allowed it, but all my friends had it, so we used to stay up all night at sleepovers playing it. I remember when I was 12 or 13 and was allowed to get my own copy, it was my go to co-op game whenever someone came over. I'd spend hours just mugging and beating people in the little free roam or playing 9 v 9 rumble matches in the pub over and over. I don't care about GTA or Red Dead, I just love the Warriors. I'd love a remake where you have fee roam of all the areas in the story, the small free roam is the only thing holding it back. It's also surprisingly violent for a PS2 game, not in terms of blood and gore, but the way the characters react when you injure them was more realistic than other games of the era. Pedestrians beg for their lives, gangstas throwing up on the floor from the beatings and trying to crawl away from you in vein. The occasional knife stab isnt over the top or dramatised, they silently collapse to the floor and bleed out. The magical menu music is always in my head too, opening the game and hearing that is iconic.
Failing a remake, they could make a spiritual successor. Originally, one was planned about mods and rockers in the 60s, but it was cancelled. I think an even better idea would be one based on A Clockwork Orange. It'd be great to play as a gang of droogs in that universe, committing acts of ultraviolence.
@@asee818 yeah there's a small handfull of ps4 games that don't work properly on PS5, it's mainly PS2 ports. The glitches are only graphical though for the warriors, and it only gets bad on the levels with rain.
Replayed it only a few weeks ago, and it still holds up to this day as an incredible, fun, engaging game. An under-looked masterpiece. Plus the soundtrack (on the PS2 version anyway) was amazing.
This era was so dope! I sent the Wonder Wheel opening sequence to my homie a few weeks ago and we started talking about all the good times. Turnbull AC's rocked! This story is also really unique, The Warriors are the furthest from home, wrongly accused and hunted ruthlessly by every gang in the city. They inadvertently prove they are the hardest set in the city by literally evading capture and soldiering through any gang they encountered, even getting a redemption arc.
Me my brother and our little brother (adopted since birth) played this so much, we would create a bunch of gangs and play king of the hill for hours, simple times man
I played this when it was released and loved it. Just finished again today and can confirm it stills holds up. I had an absolute blast with it abd loved it again
This game is Soo good already, they don't really have to add or take out much. However if they made this game more open world and did a couple more game modes it would probably do really well as a remake.
You can pretty much ignore the throwing arch. In fights, it's best to just blind throw, it's more accurate than you are most of the time. You only have to manually aim when it forces you too, otherwise, just throw without it.

Feel like I need to point out that the 'Hi-Hats', Chatterbox specifically, is/are actually inspired by the true serial killer John Wayne Gacy. He was also infamous for making all manners of paintings of himself as Pogo to sell while in prison. Just look at how their hideout is an art gallery. That and Gacys' makeup design.

You don't have to manually aim unless you're trying to distract an enemy. Just move in their direction and hit the attack button.
That's true, but it doesn't always work if enemies are in the way. Good catch!
