This enclosure puts Momo's family outdoor enclosure to shame! Wow, it's huge & so much more natural...not all metal bars everywhere.
Very cool to learn that this silverback is Shabani's brother. Shabani got the more handsome genes but this guy is a gentle giant.

What a beautiful enclosure compared to some others l have seen. Although it will never come close to being free in the wild it at least has a semblance of a forest and looks more natural.

Since all the offspring of Haoko, Shabani, and Momotaro are related with the exception of Gentaro and Annie - any idea what occurs when the other 5 mature and need a mate? Komomo is certainly old enough now. It doesn't seem quite right that because of genetics they have to live a singular life when gorillas are a social animal. With Momoko pregnant again and maybe another child in Genki's future, the number of related gorillas rise. I hate to think of any of them leaving Japan in collaboration with another zoo. They are all unique with their own personalities and intriguing antics and, silly as it sounds, I have grown fond of all through these TH-cam Videos, and enjoy watching each grouping.
Too respond you English is limited for them,I think there's a collaboration with Holland& Australian zoo when it comes exchange my guessing 😊
if i remember correctly I read somewhere that Komomo will be sent to Ragunan, Indonesia to breed with one of their silverback. I just hope if it's true they'll treat her well there bc she's such an excellent female gorilla & deserve a good environment & good silverback just like Iriki & Tayari.

To me Riki looks a lot like Kintaro. Haoko looks just like his brother Shabani. Momoko to me looks like Imani. Komomo looks like Genki.

昨年まで八木山動物園に日本最高齢のゴリラのゴンが暮らしていましたが、５月に亡くなってしまいましたね。ゴリラで５０歳は大往生といっていいと思います。それでも残念ですが。東北からだと千葉市動物園のモンタとローラか上野動物園のハオコ家族が近いでしょう。上野は今月中はコロナで閉園に会ってますが、千葉は開園していますね。４月になったら早々上野に行ってたくさん動画アップします。

Great video, I am falling in love with these amazing gorilla families.. I've watched and known the Momotaro Family since Kintaro was born, then about a year ago I started watching the Shabani's Family. I had know idea that these gorilla families were related til about a couple of months ago when I started watching The Haoko family, and saw in the comments that Shabani & Haoko were brothers, which brought everything together for me, because I always thought they looked like they were related, and they kinda act the same way too. Anyways, my question is, how is Momotaro related to Hakoko & Shabani, is he a younger brother to them, or a son??
Momotarou has nothing to do with Haoko and Shabani. Momotarou is the son of a female Momoko who lives with Haoko. Before Momotarou was born, Momotarou's father, Biju, died. After that, Haoko and Momoko came to live together. Momotarou, Komomo, Momoka and Riki have the same mother. Komomo, Momoka and Riki's father is Haoko.

These guys do seem to have a prettier enclosure compared to where poor Kentaro is. That was hilarious when he was attempting to put his finger near her bum to get her scent. She’s like NOT NOW FOOL, ILL SAY WHEN!!

Thank you, too. Probably because of breeding.I don't know exactly, but Toto and Show have stopped mating, so I think Show went to Hamamatsu Zoo and Toto stayed at Ueno Zoo to breed with other males.
Gisel Simon hope u can help me figure this out. So Shabani’s brother is Haoko? Ai is his niece. Then Annie is born? Do I have it right? If so why would they let inbreed? Sorry that last question was retoric. I’m jus trying to figure it out. Hope u can shed some light for me
@@lexistapleton687 Shabani and Haoko are brothers. Ai's father was Rikki. Annie is Shabani's and Ai's daughter. Neither Ai or Annie have bred with Haoko. Ai could but Annie could not. She would never get a breeding recommendation with Haoko or his son Riki. She could get a breeding recommendation with Momotaro, Gentaro, or Kintaro 😊 as none of them are related to her.

@@lexistapleton687 I think it's been at least 2 years. I have never been to Japan so I have only seen the ones here in Colorado. In March I will be going to Busch Gardens in Tampa and bought a ticket for the gorilla encounter. Hopefully I will come back with lots of pictures and videos of those guys.
