About the production of this video:
This video was one of my first videos before I had any of the gear I use today to make videos. This was a great project to work on to learn how to shoot, and what cameras I should use in the future. Thank you all for the comments (Good/Bad) all of your comments are welcome.

This is why I love TH-cam so much. I NEVER would have thought to use a pneumatic system for blacksmithing. Thank you TH-cam. And thank you, sir.
This is a better ad for air hammers than ive ever seen.
I am a simple hobby blacksmith who uses only non powered tools. That's because I have no power tools. You sir are a true blacksmith and I can only hope to come close to your experience level some day (year). For those that look down on a blacksmith because he or she uses power tools, they are inexperienced and have no idea what a real blacksmith is. If modern blacksmiths were not meant to use power tools then it would surely be a dead art because we would all be banging rocks on bigger rocks.
Thank you so much for posting your video. Very educational, well done and fun to watch.
That's some serious creativity and a lot of small detail forging work. Looks very nice.
Hell of a nice shop he's got. Makes me wish I could drag out my welders again and start building stuff.
Excellent craftsmanship!!!....theres no substitute for experience and you look to have many years of it my friend.. well done
Really fascinating to see a traditional craft being used with newer technology. Very inventive and inspiring. Must have taken a while to build that inventory of tools and skill.
Man I wish I could spend a week with this guy. What a hand.
beautiful work+Craftmanship with artistic flare.
Excellent craftmanship.
I've done stuff like this with wood, never occurred to me this could be done with metal.I love learning new things, thanks for this, nice work :)
Awesome. Love the forge and all the detail.Thank you. Cheers.
I was confused by the title. I'm not confused anymore. Nice job.
Thanks John Terrett for the support, I get totally pissed off at people who seem to have nothing better to do but shit on people who are showing their stuff. It is exactly why I don't put stuff on here. I am a Master Craftsman Blacksmith and have been smithing for over 50 years, should you wish to view, I am on facebook Joe Parkes and go to Joe the Blacksmith, it is a public page and has good pics on it. By the way I'm in New Zealand and quite often swap chat and idea's etc with Gary Huston in the UK. Thanks again....Cheers
I think it would be more appropriate to say "Amazing Wizard Forges A Blacksmith".
Amazing. Imagine having a wrought iron fence topped with those little guys instead of fancy spikes!
Very nice set up. Im sure Kim could forge a wizard out of a bicycle spoke in his shop. Thanks for the idea and the demonstration.
I do appreciate all of your comments. Please be respectful with your comments and don't be a troll. Honesty is fine, but you can do it without being rude and distasteful. We will start removing comments that are inappropriate. I'm open to everyone's opinion and will try to answer as many of your questions as I can. And please, no bullying, or trash talking, lets keep it friendly. Thank you.
ZebulonThomasFilms You are right. People need to be respectful in their comments. But don't you think removing goes a bit to far.
I think he's a pussy
Let's have a competition like forged in fire we both forge a peice of your choice and one of mine and see who wins but for 1000 cash
That is one very cool piece of artwork there my friend. Keep them coming please
Didn't know you could do that with metal, looks cool as hell =D
Brilliant, thanks guys! What tonnage is your press running at.
Some sad comments on here which are best ignored. Well done for using your innovation!
These old Comments are GOLD lol
You know what they say
Old is Gold
The lack of narration or music made this into a very relaxing video. im getting asmr from this
lol awesome. This was filmed before I knew what I was doing as for the filming and editing of video. Thank you for watching.
Fantastic! Thanks for posting.
Whaaaat? All I can come up with is WOW! Oh, and I LOVE wizards. And Santas. I have a gnarly piece of root wood that looks like what I call "the old man of the woods". You rock! Thanks for sharing.
You are obviously have a powerful command over iron it was really refreshing to see somebody who knows how to choose the right tool for the right job and well done with regard to the wizard head it is very clearly a piece of art welcome to the new world
wow i didnt expect a actual wizard!
nice vid
An excellent self-portrait.
THAT,... Was Awesome Craftsmanship..
Thank Ya for sharin this
very cool craftsmanship! in a world where everything is now "handcrafted" and that term has seeming lost its worth due to total overuse, it's nice to see someone actually handcrafting something other than a sandwich or coffee or soda. cheers to all the true craftsmen still keeping it alive!
How much skill did it take to work out the process to make the wizard? and to make to tools to do it! it took a lot of skill and ingenuity!
That's very cool, the way he uses traditional along with hydraulic & air tools . I especially like all the home made jigs he has. They look rough & hastily put together. But the end results speak for themselves & functional as opposed to pretty ... has a lot going for it IMO.
Nice work.
pretty sure about twenty years ago you taught me how to make one with hand tools at a shaker village in Massachusetts - still have it as a key chain.
You are a Master of metal and one heck of a vision, love it.
Unbelievable, I didn't knew such thing was even possible.
Great work 👏
that was awesome to watch!
Great artwork
truly a master craftsman
Great video! You're forge is a thing of beauty by the way!!!
you kinda looked like a wizard yourself with that awesome beard and tiny hat, great work and i loved the wizard head.
I've seen this done without a bunch of presses. The guy did it with a hammer and it looked great.
What's up with all the thumbs down? I can't do this! Nice job, man!
I couldn't even make that with clay let alone forge one, very impressive.
must be damn cold there. If I had an epic beard and wore three coats in my shop while I was forging, I think it would be me who was red hot.
You made it looks so easy...with your amazing skills - Thank you for posting - I enjoyed you vid
definitely good, but amazing is debatable. What is certain is that he has the right tools and it's not his first time.
very creative! Whole time I kept thinking "OMG, it's an iron spirit!" (like the wood spirits carved from trees. Beautiful work.
What a craftsman.
Ce forgeron est un vrai artiste vraiment chapeau
Nicely done
Seen a lot of other forged wizards, and the somewhat similar "Tennesee Troll" by Bill Epps. However, I really like the extra steps Mr. Thomas took to give it more definition, and personalize a classic.
I mean. its literally a wizard. I thought the title was wrong. But ill be damned.
he looks like a wizard himself
yes:D i thought that too :D lol
but still a really great video
he looks like a viking to me
I'd totally consider what he did just now wizardry.
AppleJacksApple1 I thought gnome.
what people dont realise is that you work your way up and when you get older you have to, i used to cut steel with a hacksaw, i saved up and bought a plasma cutter, i can now get stuff out quicker and arguably better, i first tried turning on a pole lathe, now its a electric lathe, i dont see the problem here, nearly everyone doing this sort of stuff started off with just a hammer, saw and maybe a drill, all available for a few bucks at flea markets or given by friends/relatives, and how old school do you want to take it? charcoal and hand bellows? or maybe just even charcoal and an updraft chimney and bashing pure ore out of rocks? just rock on with the best that youve got making things to the best quality possible, all the way up to using a cnc machine, its all about the individual and the skill and effort they put into their work, peace out, keep working those hands brothers and sisters
thepoultrypeople , 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
i can remember my days before the plasma cutter .bloody hard work i tell u lol .but fair play to this chap has a nice workshop ere i never thought of usin my air chisle while smithing but i will be now
I think he makes a nice wizard but I certainly hope it's not passed off as hand forged. Way too many presses and dies. The beauty of hand forged is in the uniqueness of each piece and the artistic sweat and talent of the smitty.
thepoultrypeople the only reason the ancients didn't use power equipment... they are the ancients. No one appreciates that when trying to make a living shaving off 20 hrs. of unpaid labor makes a difference. Live and let live right?
There's a great deal of difference between hand forged blacksmithing and metal fabrication using plasma cutters and presses to do all the labor.
I have no problem with folks trying to make a living making using modern technology, just don't pass it off as hand forged if your not hand forging it.
Blacksmiths would be able to make a decent living if they only had to compete with fellow tradesmen for customers. The problem for artisan blacksmiths today stem from a citizenry which as a whole, is unable to discern the differences between a legitimate hand forged piece of work as compared to mass produced products molded or stamped by foreign countries or machined in a fabrication shop.
Let's work on a level playing field, if you hand forge great, if you machine most of your work then advertise it truthfully.
I believe there's a substantial difference comparing someone using a gas forge over a bellows operated coal forge to someone basically eliminating a hammer and anvil substituting a plasma cutter and trip hammer to make a product.
Blacksmithing is not about the ancients not having power tools, it's about preserving a craft of days gone by.
friggin awesome!
Master of the iron!!
You are very Talented nice job
Geweldig!!!! Amazing!!!!!
nice work, looks real nice..
Masterpiece.
I kinda want to try this now. I don't have a hydrological press or power hammer, so it would take me a little longer, but I could see making a few of these for coat/hat hooks. I'll have to add it to the list :)
Bigbadwolf beatch Holy shit, thank god you corrected my autocomplete error from 5 months ago! I can sleep easy again!
Bigbadwolf beatch Actually, it's hydraulic.......smh
that is some wizard talent.
I feel this was more Machining then actual Forging
Dude that is sick keep it up
I'm thinking about taking up metal-work as a hobby. I guess I've got to grow a wicked beard first. ;)
Yes, it is a requirement unfortunately. It's why I can't ever be a blacksmith, my beard won't grow in nicely. :-(
Sure, I can do that, then you could suck them... Go fuck yourself.
That's because you're a punk. You suck bitch!
Bangley a beard is a requirment for all real men, shaved men look like women, its really confusing...
thepoultrypeople if shaved men look like women, you may be gay. or blind.
That’s pretty cool , imagine that in a nice gate or a run of fencing painted black and gold or silver 👌
Beautiful work!!!! Amazing
blacksmith meets sculptor very cool
wow! a staff like that can give you at least +10 Intelligent, +17 Fire Damage, and add additional 250 Mana!
HO HO HO !!! excelent work!!
The title, though. I thought it was an actual Wizard model at one point haha. Fun to watch though
Great maister!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Époustouflent, exaltent, ça donne envie dans changer métier. et dire que tout vient la Terre et que tout ce qui nous entoure vient de la main de l'homme et femme Passionnés par leurs métiers.... (Bravo pour qualité de la vidéo)
Very well very many device at foreign blacksmith Good Luck !
FANTASTIC
you know i thought this was going too be a right piece of junk but any one with a beard like that needs to be watched - you see a beard like that and you know your with the right person - as an american would say - outstanding - and very skilled too
Buen trabajo
Great, very similar to Clay Spencer's wizards, I should hope to make something like this one day.
i started laughing pretty hard when he was making the nostrils
Im not sure what all the fuss is about.. this guy is great! Nice work! He has videos and a nice shop. Wheres your videos? Your shop? Your works?
That is very cool!!
that is one very big piece of metal wish I had the tools to make this.
That is awesome! I want one ..
Pretty neat. I was hoping to see him form the wide brim of the hat.
Real expression and skill
I think 'd go the lost wax method... Though it's blooming impressive!
AS I see it, this guy should be studied by sutdents of this function of life.
Yes, the tools are the trade, adn if he taught the making of the tools, that is a blessing.
+Mark Campbell Too bad the youth of today don't seem to care about having any useful skills, instead they're more content working out their thumbs texting and playing video games.
Awsome! Its amazing how you did it but next time try doing it by hand and it will look even better cause I've been all over the internet trying to find techniques but its still a amazing piece of work
You should make a mold from that and use the remaining metal scraps to make more wizard heads and use them for the spire-finials for a gate or something!
Wow, thank you for this.
fantastic wizard
I am amazed at the skill you have. i would try it but i think i will stick to horse shoes and hay hooks.
Impressive !!
Excellent !
I'll take 6 of those please.
Yer a wizard, Kim!
If I ever get stabbed in the chest with a long pike, I want it to be this one!
seyfertNGC501 _"If I ever get stabbed in the chest with a long pike, I want it to be this one!"_
... by Chuck Norris, as Morgan Freeman narrates...
Cool wizard. I don't like power tools though. But if you've got them, more power to you. :)
